How viable is Choice Specs Rayquaza in uber battles?

I tried posting this topic on gamefaqs but got no help.

I've recently been trying to get into uber battling.

So I was trying to get good ivs for a dragon dancing outraging Rayquaza in Emerald. Then I get a modest one with 30 special attack ivs and 30 speed ivs so I kept it. I now plan on making it a choice specs Rayquaza.

My question is: Can a choice specs Rayquaza succeed in uber battles?

I would assume that it would be a good surprise pokemon seeing that most people would be expecting the dragon dance + outrage set.

This may seem like a dumb question but I have no experience in uber battles so I could use some advice.

By the way the set I'm planning on running is:

Rayquaza-Choice Specs
Modest
EV spread: 252 special attack/252 speed/6 hp
Draco Meteor
Overheat
Thunderbolt
Focus Blast

I would assume that this can work just as well as specsmence does in OU but since ubers is an entirely different metagame, I really have no idea.

I'm not exactly an uber battler, but you might switch focus blast with energy ball, since grounds get supereffective hits from energy ball and it has higher acc

I dislike it tbh. Drace meteor would work but Ray is to slow to make this work. Especially with modest.

Try a Soul Dew Latios Instead with Draco Meteor/Thunder/Hidden Power [Fire]/Grass Knot

Soul Dew acts like a Free Calm Mind, and Latios can outspeed things naturally so it will hit harder and faster.

I am by no means an expert on Uber battling, but if choice specs rayquaza is too slow, then you could try scarfing it. Even without the specs Draco Meteor coming off 150 special attack has got to hurt something.

I've used Choice Specs Rayquaza. I use Draco Meteor, Overheat, Extremespeed, Brick Break. Draco Meteor is obviously your standard attack, and Overheat hits everything that resists it SE, except Heatran and Empoleon. Brick Break covers those two if they make the rare appearance in ubers. Extremespeed is mostly just for Deoxys-A, but it helps against random Salac Pokemon and Ninjask.

As for the effectiveness, it works great. I think my coolest use of it was something like...

"Enemy trainer sent out Magnezone! Rayquaza used Overheat! Magnezone fainted!

"Enemy trainer sent out Skarmory! Rayquaza used Overheat! A critical hit! Skarmory fainted!"

And then later on that same match, he was still thinking I had like a Yache DDer or something, because a non-Specs Rayquaza wouldn't OHKO Skarmory without a CH, so he had no reason to be suspicious. Then I OHKOed his Groudon with Draco Meteor and he was like "Oh, Specs?"

Specs rayquaza is one of those pokes which are somewhat UU in ubers. if U use it, you're almost garunteed to surprise ur opponent, however, as soon as they catch on, you need to be careful with stuff like Shedinja trying to set up on you while ur locked into draco meteor

Soul Dew Latios does a special set better than Rayquaza man.. The thing that Rayquaza excells in Ubers imo it's the DD set, pretty much unstoppable with:
Item: Life orb
Moves: Dragon Dance/Outrage or Dragon claw/extremespeed/Earthquake.
