Introduction

I want Hustle Z-Mirror Move Togekiss to put in work in the UU tier. Hustle Togekiss was not exactly viable prior to gen 7; the introduction of Z-moves gave this particular set a surprise buff with Flyinium Z-Mirror Move acting as a one-time Swords Dance. However, pulling off a sweep is still just as difficult as it seems. Hopefully, I can receive some feedback from interested viewers.

Togekiss @ Flyinium Z
Ability: Hustle
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Mirror Move
- Aerial Ace
- Extreme Speed
- Drain Punch
This is the main set I want to focus on for this team. Looking at Togekiss's physical movepool, there are three clear choices in attacks: Aerial Ace is the main stab move that bypasses Hustle's lowered accuracy, Extreme Speed surprises and KOs certain faster mons like Mega Beedrill 80% of the time, and Drain Punch covers Steel and Rock switch-ins...80% of the time. Smart Strike could be used as a second never-miss move, but then the set is walled by Steels. And just in case you can't find the opportunity to set up, Z-Aerial Ace is also boosted by Hustle while bypassing accuracy.

marowak-alola.gif

Marowak-Alola @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Lightning Rod
EVs: 248 HP / 56 44 Def / 204 216 SpD
Careful Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Flare Blitz
- Knock Off
- Thunder Punch / Stealth Rock
I wanted some defensive mons that could take most attacks that normally destroy Togekiss. Alolan Marowak covers Electric, Ice, Poison, and Steel attacks. I didn't know if there was a standard EV spread for defensive Alolawak, so I evened out the defenses while keeping SpD 1 point higher for the occasional Download Porygon2 but I found a jump number for SpD at 216+ EVs, so I based the spread around that. If anyone has a more optimized EV spread, please let me know. Will-O-Wisp and Knock Off both punish the common Gliscor switch-in, with Knock Off being more reliable. Uninvested Flare Blitz OHKOs standard bulky Scizor. Although the only Scizor that should stay in is Choice Band with Knock Off, which this set takes with its Colbur Berry. I’m running Colbur over Leftovers to at least bluff that I’m using a relatively standard offensive Thick Club set.

empoleon.gif

Empoleon @ Shuca Berry
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 168 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA / 84 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Grass Knot
- Defog
In addition to taking certain Ice, Rock, Poison, and Steel attacks that would destroy Togekiss, this bulky special attacker is my answer to common physically defensive walls like Arcanine, Gliscor, and Swampert. 84 Spe is for uninvested base 65s like Scizor. I don't know if I need to outspeed anything else.

amoonguss.gif

Amoonguss @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 248 Def / 12 SpA
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Clear Smog

AV Amoonguss is my answer to Spore, Leech Seed, and Toxic, as well as my main answer to standard Serperior. It was originally max SpA, but it was having trouble surviving physical hits. I kept enough SpA to 2HKO Scizor w/ HP Fire. Thank you OU for stealing Amoonguss, lol. Oh well. Below is its replacement:

roserade-f.gif

Roserade @ Assault Vest
Ability: Technician
EVs: 248 HP / 204 Def / 56 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Dazzling Gleam

This is my new answer to the problems listed under Amoonguss. 56 Spe outspeeds Adamant Scizor. Uninvested Modest attacks still KO mons like Swampert, Serperior, Scizor, and Hydreigon. The rest is invested into Def to better take physical hits.

piloswine.gif

Piloswine @ Eviolite
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 196 HP / 52 Atk / 48 Def / 156 SpA / 56 SpD
Brave Nature
- Earthquake
- Icicle Crash
- Ice Shard
- Stealth Rock / Freeze Dry
Piloswine is now my substitute for Mamoswine in all my UU teams, setting Stealth Rock, and dealing damage with the same three moves that Mamoswine used before. At least it takes hits a little better. It was originally max HP / max Atk, Adamant, but after switching Marowak-Alola to my Stealth Rock setter, I found room to run Freeze Dry, since Marowak's Thunder Punch wasn't doing enough without Thick Club. Piloswine's new EV spread is based mainly on its offenses: 52+ Atk means Icicle Crash is still a guaranteed ohko on standard 244 HP / 0 Def Gliscor, while 156 SpA makes Freeze Dry a 2hko on Mantine (85.5% to 2hko after Leftovers recovery). The remaining 300 EVs were assigned to defenses using this tool: http://pokestudio.altervista.org/defevs.php

umbreon.gif

Umbreon @ Leftovers
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP / 148 Def / 108 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Foul Play
- Wish
- Toxic
- Heal Bell

Finally, I wanted a Wish passer and cleric because most of this team can’t afford to run Leftovers. An Eeveelution provides both roles. This was originally Sylveon, but I learned that Umbreon provides a slightly better defensive core with AmoongussRoserade and Marowak. I already have a Fairy-type in Togekiss to switch into a Dragon attack. According to Emvee, this EV spread is standard.

Conclusion

Ultimately, I want to show off Hustle Togekiss however I can. If there are better options that I may have overlooked, as well as more optimized stat spreads, please let me know. Cheers!

This team was featured in one of Aim's videos! Starts at 44:18 - "When Blissey is no longer a Togekiss counter"
A relatively short battle, but probably the best one so far!
