SS OU Hyper offence 1600+ on ladder

For a few months now I’ve been using a similar team to this one but with the release of crown tundra it got so much stronger, the objective of this team is simple, to kill anything slower than them and tackle the current meta including spectrier, heatran, buzzwole, pheromosa and more annoying pokemon to face at this time. I put together a fast, strong team to destroy the glass cannon meta.

https://pokepast.es/c97f7c5e8d2daefc

:cinderace:
The original thing I built this team around because it covers so much, it’s speedy, has 4 stabs and can even serve as a spectrier check, this thing was uber about a month ago but got dropped back down to OU and it doesn’t disappoint, most cinderaces run HDB but as a result of this I barely see web because of flying defoggers and SR doesn’t do too much. Overall you get stab life orb damage from moves with over 120 base power except sucker punch which you get priority, overall one of the most underrated mons in OU and should be used more after the zygarde, lando-I and kyurem-b bans.

:rillaboom:
I needed a toxapex, fini and slowbro check, also one to kingdra and barraskewda rain teams, rillaboom does the perfect job. It can outsped anything with lower priority than it (duh) and deal immense damage with stab terrain band. This thing also checks sand teams somewhat if they’re running hippo, excadrill. Usually the opponent makes sacrifices to take you out, so send it in at your own risk as if rilla dies, it’s hard to win against any weather speed.

:urshifu:
Ah dark urshifu, stab sucker punch choice band kills any glass cannon and wicked blow deals with anything slower than it, it’s other stab does good work cleaning up any super effective hits and poison jab 2 hits fini on the swap. This thing checks spectrier, heatran, ttar, excadrill, lando-t (be careful of fly) and fini and does good job causing switches allowing you to predict with pjab, wicked blow or just strait up swap into another dangerous mon.

:nidoking:
Special nidoking is a force to be reckoned with. Checking so many mons slower than it. Magerna, buzzwole, clefable, pex, magnezone, mandibuzz. If your weak to ice, ground, poison or fire it will just OHKO you and not take chip from life orb, you got a toxapex? Bye, fini? Adios
Magerna? Au revoir, this thing just checks so much and causes so many switches to sacrifice, this thing is a real meta killer and it is timid to deal with other nidos.

:latios:
I knew I needed a dragon type, and a psychic type, and latios fits those categories with high special attack and speed. It’s signature item, soul dew, gives a 1.2x to all its stab moves which is great dealing with nidoking, buzzwole and other dragons. Mystical fire is to cause a swap from a special attacker or to just weaken it before I die, it’s great use and cannot be wasted on any special attacking pokemon. Bulky Pokemon? Click draco meteor? Glass cannon? Click psychic or dragon pulse and send them to oblivion

:magearna:
I was wondering what to put as the final pokemon for awile but in the end decided on WP Magearna. This thing doesn’t have meta counters and struggles against fire and steel types but once you get enough soul hearts up the game is over. This thing does check the occasional urshifu, and most super effective pokemon due to wp.

so that’s the hyper offence team, please share suggestions and weaknesses

Hello The_BlindingNova,

I'm here to help you with your team and suggest some changes, which could make it better and even more offensive, while keeping as many Pokemon as I can. Here are the changes and the explanations as to why I made these changes for your team.

To kick it off: Your team already doesn't look bad at first glance, it is pretty offensive and has many different Pokemon, which can profit on Hyper Offensive teams such as Magearna, Urshifu-S, Cinderace, and Latios. But I feel this team could still improve, and here are my suggestions for your team.

:regieleki:
Regieleki @ Light Clay
Ability: Transistor
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Volt Switch
- Explosion

I chose Regieleki as a consistent Screen-setter, as it can do it without relying on weather and therefore gets up both screens rather easily, same mention goes to its incredible Speed-tier as 548 outpaces the vast majority of the metzagame and even a bunch of Scarfers in the OU-Tier, hence why I chose this Pokemon as the Screen-setter so it gets them up in as many scenarios as possible and to easen the Sweeping-potential for the rest of the teammates. Light Screen and Reflect are the Dual-screens and Volt Switch can give Momentum in the game, Explosion is the last move and can be used to struck many Pokemon and prevent them from removing hazards, which the following member Landorus-Therian will set, these Pokemon contain Tapu Koko and Hydreigon.

:landorus-therian:
Landorus-Therian (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Explosion
- Rock Tomb

Landorus-Therian is pretty self-explanatory, it is there to lay out the entry hazards, which are needed to make important 3HKOes into 2HKOes and it also pressures the opposing team with chip-damage over the course of the game. Landorus-Therian can also help vs. Spinners like Excadrill and threatens it with a strong STAB-Earthquake. Explosion can be used to heavily damage an opposing Lead or to entirely get rid off it due to its high Base-Power and consistency. Rock Tomb can be used to slow down an opposing Pokemon, to make it easier for Landorus-Therian, to lay out entry hazards or to force a switch, which you can abuse to do a switch yourself and pressure the opponent immediately.

:magearna:
Magearna @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Soul-Heart
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Shift Gear
- Focus Blast
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam

Magarena is kept because it is one of the best if not the best Sweeper on Hyper Offensive teams and It can clean up rather easily with its Shift Gear and Weakness Policy-boost, furthermore its coverage is formidable as Focus Blast covers bulky Steel-types such as Heatran and Ferrothorn and the less common Magnezone, Thunderbolt and Ice Beam forme a great BoltBeam-Coverage, which hits the vast majority of the tier for at least strong neutral damage.

:cinderace:
Cinderace @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Libero
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Bulk Up
- Pyro Ball
- Zen Headbutt
- Gunk Shot

Cinderace is another great Sweeper on such teams, as it can reliably use Bulk Up behind Screens and use its amazing Coverage to break through many Pokemon in the tier, Pyro Ball hits a lot of Pokemon in the Tier for neutral damage, Zen Headbutt is for Pokemon like Toxapex and Nidoking for super-effective damage. Gunk Shot is the last move which hits common Pokemon like Tapu Fini and Clefable hard after a +1 due to Bulk Up.
Heavy-Duty Boots are the item of choice as it prevents Cinderace from getting weakened by entry hazards such as Stealth Rock, Spikes and Toxic Spikes. Furthermore it prevents a Speed-drop, when it faces Sticky Web-teams.

:urshifu: (single-strike)
Urshifu @ Life Orb
Ability: Unseen Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Bulk Up
- Wicked Blow
- Sucker Punch
- Close Combat

Urshifu-S is another formidable abuser on Screens-offense with Bulk Up + 3 Attacks, the Attacks are Wicked Blow as having the trait to always struck opposing Pokemon with a Critical Hit is really good and also threatens Pokemon like Landorus-Therian, as a Crit goes always through its Intimidate. Sucker Punch gives you the edge on Choice-locked Pokemon such as Spectrier as they cannot attack you freely without taking damage, thus they have to switch out and you can abuse this to set-up another Bulk Up to make Urshifu even more dangerous. Sucker Punch also helps with some Semi-Speed control, as it can force the opponent into a uncomfortable position and always hits first. Close Combat is the last slot and its strongest fighting-type STAB and hits many Pokemon hard from the get go.

:latios:
Latios (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Roost
- Aura Sphere
- Psyshock

Latios is the last member on this squad and got better since Zygarde 50% and Kyurem-Black got banned, it can run a wide variety of Sets, but I think Life Orb gives it some extrapower. Clam Mind is the boost of choice and can help Latios especially behind the Screens, as it can not only further its SpA but also its SpDef, makaing Latios a Pokemon, which isn't easy to remove. Roost is there for longevity and to help Latios out to get more Calm Mind-boosts, as it can do so reliably. Aura Sphere is a coverage of choice making it able to hit Ferrothorn, Heatran, Kartana, Tyranitar, and Melmetal whereas Psyshock can hit Blissey for much harder damage as it hits Blissey on its weaker physical defense.

In overall I think these suggestion can help you, and made your team a bit better, and you have fun with it on the ladder. I hope I was able to help you and Have a nice day! :)

Looks like a good team, however the objective of my team was to sweep without setup, also this hyper offence build seems quite unstoppable and could generally be used at the top of the ladder if you can make the right decisions. Screens eleki is underrated and to pair it with lando-t for rocks makes switch ins quite easy to the setup-sweepers

I just wonder how this team deals with status... just try to avoid/predict it?

Screens eleki is underrated and to pair it with lando-t for rocks makes switch ins quite easy to the setup-sweepers

I felt like your team needed the support of Dual-Screens since your team lacks defensive counterplay and has a lot of trouble setting up, since the Pokemon lack a defensive backbone, which the Dual-Screens will give them in this case.
The current metagame is that every team contains heavy hitters, which are also fast enough to outpace a lot of Pokemon on your team, so having a Pokemon like Regieleki with Dual-Screens support or a Pokemon like Landorus-Therian with Focus Sash and the support via Stealth Rock is a great option to help the remaining 4 members of that team, as mentioned above these Pokemon lack the defensive counterplay and the Dual-Screens help them not to get overrun by opposing offensive oriented teams.

I just wonder how this team deals with status... just try to avoid/predict it?

Very offensive oriented teams such as Hyper Offense usually dont run a cleric, which makes them rather prone to status such as Will-O-Wisp, Toxic, Toxic Spikes and Thunder Wave, but this issue relies in pretty much all Hyper Offensive teams. Hyper Offensive structures are mostly there to overrun teams with the right positioning and setups. I feel, when you want to avoid status at all, then Hyper Offensive teams aren't the ones you should use, then I'd recommend a more defensive oriented team such as balance, which most likely has something against status-conditions, such as Magic Guard-Pokemon like Clefable, which doesn't fear status at all.

I hope I was able to help with clearing off some Questions in this thread! :)
