SS OU Hyper Offense Team (Gengar Kommo-o Core)

So, this is my first team that I've made that I think isn't garbage, so I thought I'd post this

GENGAR

Role: Wallbreaker
Ghœst (Gengar) @ Black Sludge
Ability: Cursed Body
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Shadow Ball
- Sludge Wave
- Focus Blast

It's supposed to be a wallbreaker, but to be honest I've mostly used it as a revenge killer, because to be honest, I haven't seen too many stall teams around. It's also a potent cleaner, and it helps deal with the high amounts of sylveons and clefables running around the place. It can take advantage of the lack of ghost resists in the tier besides hydreigon and fire of nasty plot boosted focus blasts and shadow balls agaainst anything weak to it.

KOMMO-O

Role: Sweeper

Drægon (Kommo-o) @ Throat Spray
Ability: Bulletproof
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Clangorous Soul
- Clanging Scales
- Flamethrower
- Flash Cannon

Although I've found that it is a bit difficult to safely switch in with it in most cases, it's quite a powerful sweeper regardless of it. I chose to run the old special set because I find it really fun to use and it's somewhat unexpected, so I can take advantage of that. It's got a terrifying special attack even when unboosted too. But, since it's hard to switch in, it doesn't get to pull off many sweeps, which is unfortunate

TYRANITAR

1583613690715.png

Role: Wallbreaker

Lizærd (Tyranitar) @ Choice Band
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Stone Edge
- Crunch
- Earthquake
- Fire Punch

It's a physical wallbreaker that covers some of the teams weaknesses. Fire punch is very useful coverage against corviknight users that aren't running body press on it, stone edge is there for STAB and so is crunch, and earthquake is earthquake.
Again, a lot of pokemon are carrying fighting type coverage so it's sometimes hard to use

CLEFABLE

1583813083321.png

Role: Lead
Fæ (Clefable) @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Flamethrower
- Soft-Boiled
- Stealth Rock

It's the stealth rocks lead. It runs flamethrower to take out ferrothorns, stealth rocks because why
wouldn't I, etc. I used to run excadrill as a lead instead but type overlap triggered the OCD that I don't have and I saw no reason not to replace it with a clefable, as clefable could scare away opposing ferrothorn leads. I have run into one problem with it being it's lack of hazard removal moves which is annoying.

DUGTRIO

Role: Rev
enge killer

Mœle (Dugtrio) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Arena Trap
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Sucker Punch
- Reversal

Dugtrio is THE revenge killer. It traps and finishes off weakened foes, and if it gets down to 1 HP, it can use reversal, an extremely powerful move that absolutely destroys anything that doesn't resist or is inmune to it. Sucker punch is priority, which is needed even though dugtrio's speed is massive to deal with dragapult. Stone edge helps against flying types altough it's lack of accuracy can be annoying sometimes. Overall, one of the best revenge killers in the OU metagame for sure.

CLOYSTER

1583614645457.png

Role: Cleaner, Revenge Killer

Scællop (It's not an oyster) (Cloyster) @ King's Rock
Ability: Skill Link
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Shell Smash
- Icicle Spear
- Rock Blast
- Ice Shard

Cloyster is supposed to be a cleaner and/or a revenge killer, but Icicle spear and Rock blast are so good that most of my sweeps have been with cloyster. Ice shard helps with the revenge killer aspect of it because of how slow it is when unboosted. If it has one weakness, it's seismitoad, which I have foolishly switched into with cloyster many times. Even though the defense drop shouldn't matter too much because of it's sky-high defenses, it's special defense has never been that good, and an earth power from a seismitoad can one shot it, and it's probably the team member that has the best matchup against it anyway, so most of my losses have been caused by my team not having grass type coverage

WEAKNESSES

SEISMITOAD

I don't have grass type coverage and nothing in my team has a good matchup against it, it's annoying. I've considered giving gengar giga drain or something but focus blast is just too good to pass up

phishie

I don't have water inmunity. Period.

DITTO

I don't have anything with a choice scarf.

Thanks for reading and sorry if I made any grammatical errors, I'm not a a native speaker

Heyyos your team is pretty interesting! Considering that you have written down the role and defined every pokemon with a role, it shows that you have thought through the roles of every pokemon and their use in your team well! I do think that a lot of pokemons have multiple roles and your team exemplifies this. Not too sure how serious you are about the type overlap OCD that you have but ill try to work around it! I have some suggestions for you and I hope it helps!

First off all, let us define what playstyle your team is exhibiting here. Considering that you have multiple highly offensive mons as well as a pseudo suicide lead, I will treat this team as a Hyper Offensive playstyle team. As such, my first recommendation is to change Clefable's Flamethrower to Thunder Wave. The reason for this change is simple. You have an offensive Kommo-o that you would want to bring in on Ferrothorn whenever it switches in. Therefore making Clef the perfect bait for you to do double switches on. This means that Clef's flamethrower actually deprives you of opportunities to switch your sweepers in. As such, I think this change up is necessary as it 1. cripples your opponent's team in preparation for your Cloyster to Paraflinch like an annoying pest clean up games and 2. it gives your offensive mons (i.e - wallbreakers and sweepers) potentially more leeway to maneuver around your opponent's team. On top of that change, I suggest giving it the EV spread of 120 HP / 252 Def / 136 Spe allowing you to hit 190 speed, allowing you to speed creep max speed adamant conk that might pose as a problem for your team.

Next, I personally can see Excadrill as being a huge threat on it's own in this team, on top of the threats you already mentioned. As such, my next recommendation is to suggest that you give Flame Orb Conkeldurr a try over CB TTar. Reason for this is because Conk packs as much punch as CB TTar with the added pro of having priority and not being locked into moves that will force you out. Also, since your team is already weak to drill, if you fight against sand teams whose sweepers are Sand Rush Excadrill, then your TTar will only serve against you. Considering that mach punch is normally enough to threaten Excadrill, it's a pretty dope change for your team I feel.

Lastly, I understand that you have no water checks and no scarfed mons and that due to the nature of hyper offensive teams, it's natural to build a bit more aggressively and play around it, therefore, I have two recommendations for you depending on how comfortable you are with switching up your team.
The first recommendation is to run Scarf Gengar over black sludge nasty plot. This is because you already have two strong set up mons and with the Conk suggestion giving you priority, I think scarf gengar will be a huge asset to the team as it can help dugtrio do it's work more cleanly. I would also include Thunderbolt as it would allow you to tackle water types with more ease
If you are comfortable with removing Gengar, I would suggest you give Scarf Hydreigon a try! This is because of two reasons, 1 is that it is a soft water check, allowing you to come in on common water types of the tier somewhat easily (i.e - gastro, seismitoad, vaporeon, jellicent are some i can list off the top of my head) and threaten them to an extent with draco meteor or you can u-turn out into your sweepers. 2 is that having Hydreigon gives you a soft check to ground types in general because you dont want to have to prematurely switch in your sweepers (Kommo-o and Cloyster) to take a hit that they don't need to so utilizing what immunities and defensive measures you can to ensure your sweep is key to winning.
alright! hope you enjoy your team as well as the small changes i recommended!

Flamethrower > Thunder Wave on Clef
EV changes on Clef
