Hyper Offense

This is my second RMT and probably the most successful team I've had in LC. It seems like it is missing something, but I'm not sure if it is just my skill level or an actual problem with the team.

The basis of the team is to set up hazards, eliminate the opponent's checks and counters and then sweep with either Carvanha or Tirtouga.

Pawniard

Chuck (Pawniard) (M) @ Eviolite
Ability: Defiant
Level: 5
EVs: 156 Atk / 36 Def / 116 SDef / 196 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Iron Head
- Sucker Punch
- Stealth Rock

Pawniard is the first part of my hazard core. He is used to threaten opposing psychics, fairies, ghosts, etc. and to set up stealth rock on the switch. He gives me team knock off support which is very valuable to weaken opposing walls to set up a sweep. Steel/Dark also has a good amount of resists.

Pawniard is countered by popular fighting types (Mienfoo, Timburr, Scraggy), but those are checked by Trubbish (except Scraggy). Fire types are not too common, and my water types and Drilbur take care of those. The earthquake weakness is a problem though.

Trubbish

Miley Cyrus (Trubbish) (F) @ Berry Juice
Ability: Sticky Hold
Level: 5
EVs: 116 Atk / 104 Def / 52 SDef / 236 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Spikes
- Drain Punch
- Recycle
- Gunk Shot

Trubbish is the second part of my Hazard core. She is able to check fighting types and to set up spikes to make my sweeps easier. The berry juice and recycle combo allows Trubbish to recover to full health easily, allowing her to set up all three layer of spikes against weaker attackers. Gunk shot is a very powerful STAB that hits hard against grass, fairy, and any non-eviolite pokemon. Drain punch KOs Pawniard and does decent damage to anything weak to fighting.

Wynaut

Why Not? (Wynaut) @ Berry Juice
Ability: Shadow Tag
Level: 5
EVs: 148 HP / 132 Def / 52 SDef / 176 Spd
Impish Nature
- Encore
- Counter
- Mirror Coat
- Safeguard

Wynaut used to be my dedicated hard-counter to Meditite lacking substitute. Berry juice extends wynauts usefulness and can potntially allow him to take out multiple threats. Counter and Mirror Coat can eliminate any attacker lacking a super-effective move. Wynaut is too slow to use Destiny Bond so I use safeguard to counter any status users slower than me, such as Foongus. Wynaut requires alot of prediction which I am not too good with yet. Encoring a set up move or a stealth rock, etc. Can allow Drilbur or Tirt to set up, or allow Carvanha an extra turn to get in a Speed Boost.

With Meditite banned, I'm thinking Cottonee would be a better option.

Drilbur

drilbur.gif

Naked Mole Rat (Drilbur) @ Eviolite
Ability: Mold Breaker
Level: 5
EVs: 236 Atk / 36 Def / 216 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Rapid Spin
- Rock Slide
- Swords Dance

Drilbur is my spinner. Rapid spin is important here to keep Tirtouga's sturdy intact. Earthquake is a good coverage move and with Mold Breaker, it hits everything hard apart from Flying types. Rock Slide takes care of those. Swords dance allows Drilbur to set up on the switch and allows him to counter opposing Dwebble leads. Drilbur can potentially sweep if his counters are eliminated.

I'm not sure of eviolite or life orb is the better set. Eviolite makes it somewhat easier to switch him in and also allows him to take a hit from Missy who can be 2KO'd with EQ.

Carvanha

carvanha.gif

Nemo (Carvanha) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Speed Boost
Level: 5
EVs: 196 Atk / 36 Def / 36 SDef / 236 Spd
Adamant Nature
IVs: 0 HP
- Aqua Jet
- Waterfall
- Crunch
- Destiny Bond

Carvanha is my revenge killer and the first dedicated sweeper on my team. Aqua Jet is very valuable priority and a good revenge kill move. After an aqua jet kill, Speed Boost kicks in, allowing Carvanha to sweep with it's powerful Waterfall and Crunch STAB attacks. Crunch can KO Missy, Abra, etc. The last used to contain protect to guarantee a Speed Boost and to defend against Fake Outs, but I decided Destiny Bond was a better use of the slot. Destiny Bond Eliminates counters that switch in after a revenge kill. Because Carvanha shares Fighting, Electric, and Grass weaknesses with Tirtouga, this allows me to eliminate a counter that would have been preventing a Tirtouga sweep.

Tirtouga

tirtouga.gif

Great A'Tuin (Tirtouga) (M) @ Berry Juice
Ability: Sturdy
Level: 5
EVs: 236 Atk / 92 Def / 180 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Waterfall
- Stone Edge
- Shell Smash

Tirtouga is my Shell Smasher and the main sweeper on my team. The SturyJuice set is the best one, imo and almost guarantees a Shell Smash set-up against any pokemon lacking Mold Breaker or taunt. Aqua Jet is Priority to allow Tirt to act as a revenge killer and to outspeed opposing priority moves after a Smash. Waterfall is a powerful stab and the most common sweeping move. Stone Edge is secondary STAB. I'm considering dropping it in favor of Rock Slide for a more reliable but weaker move. I picked Jolly over Adamant to give me an extra point in speed to outspeed opposing Adamant Tirtougas.

Threats: These are pokemon or teams I've had trouble with:

Scraggy: Scraggy is something I don't quite know how to deal with. It might just be inexperience. Trubbish has a hard time defending against Scraggy's Knock Offs, especially after a Dragon Dance. it usually costs me multiple Team Members to take down a Scraggy. Drilbur can usually take him out if we both lead, but generally Scraggy is sent out as an answer to Pawniard or Carvanha, and uses Dragon Dance on the switch. Should I attack him, predicting a DD?

Sun Teams: I have a hard time dealing with sun teams, especially if they use Bellsprout. Bellsprout under the sun outspeeds my whole team and it's coverage moves of Solar Beam, Weather Ball, Sludge Bomb, and Sleep power just about take care of my whole team. I don't know what to do against it, and if I cannot eliminate Vulpix, waiting for sun to run out is not an option. I also have nothing that can absorb a full-power Eruption from a scarf Cyndaquil.

Earthquake users: I have no flying to levitating pokemon, making Earthquake difficult to switch into.

There are more threats that I can't think of off the top of my head. Any help is much appreciated.

This is a really nice team; however, as you've mentioned under threats, Scraggy and Drilbur likely pose as significant threats. This could be dealt with by, as you suggested yourself, replacing Wynaut with Cottonee.
Cottonee @ Eviolite
Ability: Prankster
Level: 5
EVs: 36 HP / 40 Def / 148 SAtk / 40 SDef / 232 Spd
Timid Nature
- Giga Drain
- Dazzling Gleam
- Encore
- Hidden Power [Fighting] / Memento / Taunt / Knock Off / Stun Spore / Leech Seed / Tailwind
Giga Drain most notably hits Drilbur and Chinchou while providing a tiny bit of recovery. Dazzling Gleam deals with Scraggy and other fighting-types. The utility of Encore is phenomenal, and allows Cottonee to switch into and always beat Scraggy if it uses anything except Iron Head or Poison Jab, provided Cottonee is also fairly healthy. From there, Cottonee's versatility gives it quite a few options depending on what you prefer.

Another Pokemon I could see giving you quite a bit of trouble is Misdreavus, especially if it packs Hidden Power Fighting for Pawniard (Sucker Punch is unlikely to OHKO, even after Stealth Rock) and Will-O-Wisp for your sweepers. For this reason, I would like to suggest running Protect on Carvanha so you could, at the very least, revenge-kill it, as opposed to being taken out by Hidden Power Fighting or Dazzling Gleam. If you deem Destiny Bond more useful than Protect, consider replacing Aqua Jet instead. I also think the 36 Def EVs on Drilbur should be moved to HP; this will mean +2 Misdreavus's Shadow Ball will only OHKO 6.3% of the time as opposed to 43.8%, and +0 Shadow Ball will 2HKO 59.4% of the time as opposed to 93.8% of the time.

That's it for now. Good luck!
