Hyper Offensive Team: Beast Generals

Hello guys :D It's been a while since I've played pokemon and I came back with a new team since Blaziken has been banned from OU meta. This team is based on Mega Pinsir, and I generally love to base teams around Mega pokemon, I feel like it's just not a team without a mega pokemon. So I want you to give your best feedback you can to improve this team!

TEAM BUILDING PROCESS

I did say my team is gonna be built around Mega Pinsir :)

If my team is gonna be HO, I think Smeargle would be the right choice for this team. Setting up entry hazards like Sticky Web and Stealth Rock makes life for the sweepers waaaayy easier.

Azumarill is just good for any team, and this little rabbit is just overpowered right now. The fairy type bonus makes dragon types seem like babies. Azumarill can also take out 3/5 of Mega Pinsir's threats (Rock, Ice, Fire).

I don't feel like I need to add anything special so far. Only so far. So I guess I'll add in a Volcarona to see what happens.

Now that I have added a Volcarona, my team is pretty vulnerable to Stealth Rock, with 2 pokemon that will be reduced to half health with just Stealth Rock so I need a Rapid Spinner, and Excadrill is in my opinion a great pokemon for Rapid Spinning.

I added Noivern because I felt like my team lacked a lot of speed, because what if my Sticky Web got spun away? We also needed some special attack so I mean, why not Noivern?

I switched Volcarona in the end because I felt like the team was too vulnerable to Rock, Water and Flying types so I added Trevenant for a little defensive boost to my team even though it's supposed to be HO, I think his typing and skills are perfect for this.

IN-DEPTH BEASTS

127.gif

Kabuto (Pinsir) @ Pinsirite
Ability: Moxie (Mega: Aerialate)
EVs: 96 HP / 252 Atk / 160 Spe
Nature: Adamant
- Earthquake
- Swords Dance
- X-Scissor
- Quick Attack

Pinsir is just a beast inside and outside. Look at him, he's a god damn flying I-don't-know-what-that-is thing that has spiky horns on the side and it has a sideway mouth. How awesome is that? What's beast on the inside is his mega ability, Aerialite. It basically increases normal-type attacks by 30% and turns it into flying type. Quick attack became cray bro. You guys might be thinking, why the hell do you need Moxie when you're going to mega-evolve anyway? What I plan on doing with this guy, is kill something in his non-mega mode, and get a free + attack. Then mega evolve with the Aerialite. Earthquake is a coverage move so that I actually stand against a chance against rock types if I'm on a frickin killing spree with lots of Atk boost from moxie and swords dance. X-scissor is just STAB move. Quick attack became a priority STAB move due to Aerialite with it's attack raised to like, what, 72? It might seem little but don't forget that it's a priority move.

Ryouken (Smeargle) @ Focus sash
Ability: Own Tempo
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Nature: Timid
- Spore
- Stealth Rock
- Sticky Web
- Spikes

Smeargle with his moves and they all start with S. What a coincidence. This Smeargle is pretty self-explanatory. Spore the opponent on the first turn, they can't kill you anyway because of Focus Sash unless they're those Fake Out pokemon. Stealth Rock, Sticky Web, and Spikes are just NEEDED for this team so that everything can go my way and more or less win the battle swiftly with all of those cray cray sweepers on my team. But Smeargle is definitely needed here.

Usagi (Azumarill) @ Leftovers
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Nature: Adamant
- Aqua Jet
- Waterfall
- Play Rough
- Superpower

Azuuuuumarill. A true beast indeed. Aqua Jet priority STAB move that kills almost anyone in 2 or 3 hits. Oughta teach Talonflame a lesson there. Waterfall and Play Rough is really straightforward. Powerful STAB moves that kills Tyranitars, Hydreigons and Noiverns in one hit. Azumarill is just crazy. Superpower is definitely needed in my opinion, because since I lack a fire-type pokemon, I need something to kill Ferrothorn, my Noivern has flamethrower but if Noivern is dead by any chance, I want this guy to fill up the spot and kill Ferrothorns and take them out of this game.

709.png

Zonbiki (Trevenant) @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Harvest
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Nature: Careful
- Leech Seed
- Will-O-Wisp
- Horn Leech
- Protect

This is the only pokemon that contradicts my team's two themes. Beast + Hyper Offensive. But I have made this pokemon a beast by making it a Zombie Tree LOL. Anyways, I don't think one defensive pokemon will really hurt my Hyper Offensive team that much. Besides, Will-O-Wisp and Leech Seed actually helps my team a lot here. Decreasing their attack and leeching life will help my team synergize better because I don't think my team has a lot of synergy anyways so I think Trevenant is a perfect pokemon for my team.

530.gif

Mogura (Excadrill) @ Air Balloon
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spe
Nature: Adamant
- Rapid Spin
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Swords Dance

My baby, this big baby here is mah rapid spinner. If I ever switch out my Mega Pinsir, this thing comes in handy and saves lives like crazy. I made it bulkier anyway so that it can withstand a few attacks even after my Rapid Spin. Air Balloon almost ensure that I won't get OHKO, unless if I go stupid mode and switch out to a Water or a Fire type. But otherwise, if I have any more time left with my Excadrill, I would Swords Dance and start sweeping like craaaaay.

715.png

Hirou (Noivern) @ Life Orb
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Nature: Modest
- Dragon Pulse
- Hurricane
- Flamethrower
- U-Turn

This thing is a true beast (all pokemon except Trevenant and Smeargle are "True Beasts" tho). This thing can take down anything it wants. If this guy wants a pokemon to die, they die, like, legit, no joke. I like to keep up the momentum with U-turn even if he doesn't do that much damage. This thing just sweeps way better than any other pokemon in my team other than Mega Pinsir. With Stealth Rock and Sticky Web set up by Smeargle, it's enough for this guy to kill almost any pokemon in this universe. Okay he might not be as amazing as I talk like but he is certainly amazing.

Conclusion:
As you can see, I rely A LOT on the entry hazards set up by smeargle as you can see I do not add speed to any pokemon that much. I rely mostly on sweeping.

Please give feedback :) thank you

Just a couple things:

~I really feel that Trevanent is out of place. You listed the reasons for his inclusion as "Dealing with a vulnerability to Rock, Water, and Flying types." Trev doesn't do much against fliers, and he totally kills any offensive momentum. I'd recommend ChestoRest Rotom-W in it's place. It fills the role you said you needed Trev to do better than Trev does, and it also lets you deal with Talonflame a bit better, who really seems like he can shred your team if Noivern and Azu have taken a bit of prior damage. It also lets you sustain momentum with Volt Switch.

~I'd run Magic Coat on Smeargle over Spikes. Spikes is pretty meh this metagame given all the buffs to hazard removal, and you'll never get all three layers up with his horrible longevity anyway. Magic Coat will let you deal with taunters who otherwise ruin his day.

~Drop Superpower on Azumarill for Substitute. Azumarill forces a lot of switches and doesn't want anyone ruining her day with a burn. This will let you scout switches and act accordingly without taking much risk.

~I don't see much reason for Hurricane on Noivern, the accuracy is horrible and Mega Pinsir has your flying needs covered as is. I'd drop that for Boomburst. That will allow you to hit through subs anyway, so you can opt for Frisk over Infiltrator to let Noivern be a back-up lead for scouting purposes. You'll want to run Timid over Modest, since the main reason to use Noivern is that beautiful speed stat. Modest will make you lose out to Timid Greninja, for example, who you out-speed by 2 points if you're Timid. Noivern also really lacks the power to sweep and the durability to remain on the field for long periods of time, so I'd swap Dragon Pulse for Draco Meteor to patch up its average offensive stats, since he's going to be switching a lot anyway.

~If you find Ferrothorn is giving you the business you can always slap Close Combat on to Pinsir.

I'd keep Hurricane and switch to Specs because it is an amazing STAB move to 2HKO Ferrothorn and Togekiss and heavily damage pokemons such as Florges, Goodra and even 3HKO without taking damage with the added confusion chance. Also Draco Meteor is AMAZING and you can OHKO many pokemon like gliscor and Sub+SD through their sub and other pokemons that like to sub on your Smeargle. I also suggest you a change from Trevenant to Pursuit Tyranitar to better deal with Talonflame and turn your Excadrill to a more offensive kind of a set with Sand Rush max speed and an Air Baloon (or a life orb) and a moveset of SD/EQ/Rock Slide/Rapid Spin. On a side note you could put Magic Coat over Sticky Web or Spikes (or even rocks if you can fit them on T-Tar)because i had far more success with that.
