Hi guys, this team is mostly around sweeping (with three set-up sweepers and one choiced pokemon). Keep in mind, I rarely play Pokemon Showdown (or competitive in general) so some of the Pokemon that are in here may be standard but it is because I have rarely seen these being used.
Pinsir-Mega @ Pinsirite
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Quick Attack
- X-Scissor
- Return
The first Pokemon on here is a mega, being Mega-Pinsir. You do not want this Pokemon to come in on Stealth Rocks because it will just shorten its job of sweeping through teams. A different Pokemon will help keep it away from Stealth Rocks though. I have used Moxie on this set (before it turns into a mega, obviously) in case there are weak Pokemon that Pinsir can easily kill to get that boost and start wrecking everything in its way. Swords Dance is just in case Pinsir is not able to use the Moxie ability so you can predict a switch out (or something else that won't cripple/damage Pinsir badly) and use Swords Dance to get 2 stages into attack and start the destruction. Quick Attack being the priority and main move of this Pokemon after setting up. X-Scissor is another STAB move. Return, with Aerilate boost, will hit A LOT of things really hard.
Thundurus @ Life Orb
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 30 Def
- Nasty Plot
- Focus Blast
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Thunderbolt
A great Pokemon that can basically set up first turn and basically win you the match. A Stealth Rock user are usually an opponent's lead so let them set up their Stealth Rocks and and you will go for the Nasty Plot and it's done. Only way to stop this is if Focus Blast misses or anything quicker than Thundurus. In my opinion, Weavile is the best check to this. But it must be able to kill it with one shot (Weavile is a very hard hitter so it should be able to) otherwise it is dead (unless it's a Focus Sash one). Thunderbolt is the main STAB on this and it is a very good move. I prefer Thunderbolt over the stronger Thunder as it will not miss. Hidden Power Ice is mostly for Ground types, especially Landorus-T.
Zapdos @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Toxic
- Defog
- Substitute
- Roost
An unusual set this one is. I rarely ever see this. With a 125 Base Sp.Atk and 100 Base Speed, which are nothing to laugh at, you would expect this to be an attacker yet it has no damaging moves. Toxic, Roost and Substitute are all for stalling Pokemon until they die. Defog is to get rid of any hazards on the field. This Pokemon can help Pinsir out a lot by getting rid of the dangerous Stealth Rocks. This Pokemon can take special hits much better than expected with full EVs in HP and SpD. So this is my special wall.
Mew @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spe
Bold Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Soft-Boiled
- Super Fang
- Stealth Rock
Here comes the physical wall. In my opinion, Synchronize is a good ability. The only status that affects Mew badly is Toxic poison. Depending on the Pokemon that is inflicting this status to Mew, it will also give the status to the opposing Pokemon. Will-O-Wisp is to cripple any hard physical attackers. Soft-Boiled is the healing move so burn won't matter too much. Super Fang is a good move as it cuts the opponents health in half and can work quite well Will-O-Wisp. Stealth Rock is only needed for the opponent to use Defog and set another Pokemon up.
Bisharp @ Lum Berry
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 72 HP / 252 Atk / 88 Def / 96 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Sucker Punch
- Iron Head
- Swords Dance
I dare you to Defog. This Pokemon is why I kept Stealth Rocks on Mew. If my opponent decides to use Defog, I can start killing a lot of things. Defiant is the ability to love in this case. Lum Berry will get rid of any status effects once and that Pokemon will probably die. Swords Dance is just in case I do get the chance to set up. Sucker Punch is a strong priority and works well after you set up. Iron Head is another STAB move and is to check Fairies as well. Knock Off is a powerful STAB and will get rid of dangerous items. This Pokemon only has STAB moves but they work very well.
Starmie @ Choice Specs
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Surf
- Psyshock
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
The Choiced Pokemon is here. With Choice Specs, this Pokemon is very powerful. A wide variety of move to counter a lot of Pokemon. Psyshock being the psychic STAB move to counter things such as Blissey or Chansey or other specially bulky Pokemon (apart from Gardevoir). Thunderbolt and Ice Beam for coverage.
I hope you guys like my team. If you do get a chance to use this, please give me feedback on how I could make the team more unique and better.
Thanks.
