I need help w/ my volt-turn team

I have recently started playing competitive battles and even more recently started playing little cup(1 day before this post). I have been doing ok, so far but i still have some troubles. So can you help me w/ my team:



Chinchou (F) @ Eviolite
Trait: Volt Absorb
EVs: 52 Def / 232 SAtk / 224 Spd
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Heal Bell


  • Its a offensive cleric, as my team really gets crippled by things like burn
  • I'm thinking of switching to water absorb as water is more common and i have two water weakness
  • I might want to get ice beam b/c i get walled by most dragons


Larvesta (M) @ Eviolite
Trait: Flame Body
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 76 HP / 236 Atk / 152 Def / 44 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Morning Sun
- U-turn
- Will-O-Wisp


  • Larvesta is normally pretty beast, but it needs my spin support
  • idk about will-o-wisp, b/c i have had multiple time when the opponent gets burned by flame body when i use it, which wastes moves...
  • maybe 1 more offensive move

Mienfoo (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Regenerator
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 236 Atk / 36 Def / 236 Spd
Adamant Nature
- U-turn
- Stone Edge
- Hi Jump Kick
- Knock Off


  • I have been running a skarf variant to counter scraggy, but it gets f'd over by misdrevus
  • I'm thinking about swithching knock off to pay back, but idk
  • I think fake out might be more useful b/c i need priority to hit and kill drilbur and the likes
  • may be take off skarf for some thing else

Magnemite @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Magnet Pull
EVs: 240 SAtk / 28 SDef / 240 Spd
Modest Nature
- Volt Switch
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Flash Cannon


  • some of my bigger prob comes from other magnemite when they switch into things like tbolt and flash cannon, and i get destroyed by their hp fire
  • he is good but way too fragil, but then again thisn't suppose to be a stall team
  • he seems fine for my team as is, but might need to change as team changes
Murkrow (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Super Luck
EVs: 236 Atk / 76 SAtk / 196 Spd
Naughty Nature
- Brave Bird
- Heat Wave
- Sucker Punch
- Dark Pulse


  • this is a decent counter to misdrevus, and revenger
  • i might want to try insomnia for sleep counter
  • more over i need a another good pkm that can learn volt turn, but at the same time be able to counter fighting and ghosts

Drilbur (M) @ Eviolite
Trait: Mold Breaker
EVs: 196 HP / 120 Atk / 116 Def / 76 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Rapid Spin
- Stealth Rock
- Rock Slide


  • Mold breaker is to sr even against natu and to hit leviatators
  • But i would prefer some 1 that can volt-turn.
 
Hi Night to Days! volt turn teams are pretty rare in LC, primarily because they sometimes lack the synergy to stand up to well made teams.

In order to preserve your voltturn team, its important to focus on survivability. Something that Larvesta doesn't really do for this team. You mentioned that you want another U-turner, so maybe try a Darumaka in that slot? It reaches 15 Speed, which is far from bad.

Darumaka has to live with Hustle, which gives it the potential to be an immeasurable power that will run through teams, but its inconsistency kind of sucks. The big reason I believe that Darumaka would help your team is because it fits the offensive nature of your team much better. It gives you even more Speed, I think it might jsut fit with your team and help you keep offensive pressure on a lot better.

The problem with replacing Larvesta is that you develop a pretty bad weakness to Mienfoo, which you can fix by replacing Murkrow with Misdreavus. Misdreavus can take on the fighting-types that will give you trouble, as well as act as a pivot for your volt turners. Misdreavus can take on Mienfoo very well, as well as other physical attackers like Pawniard and the rare Axew.

Darumaka @ Choice Scarf

EVs: 116 HP / 196 Atk / 196 Spe

Misdreavus @ Eviolite
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 36 HP / 120 Def / 80 SpD / 240 Spe
Timid Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Will-o-Wisp
- Hidden Power Fighting
- Pain Split

reasons to use Darumaka and Missy > Larvesta and Murkrow

  • less reliance on Drilbur
  • Darumaka gives you some much needed offense, while missy can take on many of the big threats to your team
