I was just Wondering..

Lately i have been struggling in making a solid team for D/P so i went back to playing netbattle and i created a ok team that got the job done. And it follwed the strag that i wanted to use which is inflict status on as many things as possible then take them out. But the way i created my team was i look at this page and tried to do as many things as it said to do on it while following my strag.http://www.smogon.com/rs/articles/introduction. So the point of this thread is to ask what do u guys think are most important while building a team for the 4th gen. If this is to early for disscussion then sorry.

You'll get the gist of it by reading Surgo's Treatise, which states that it's most imporatant to have an actualy strategy instread of setting out to "counter everything". My Threat List will let you know if there's any particular pokemon who give you a really hard time so you can fine tune your team without having to alter that strategy.

Besides that, it's pretty simple...at least in theory.

I think the most important part of building a team is the trial and error. As much good as something is on paper, nothing beats going out and actually fighting. One reason why I don't agree with all the theorycrafting that's going on atm on the D/P boards.
