This is my hail team, which i first created at the start of the "UU suspect test" for victini. At first it wasn't very good (derp stuff like having two rapid spinners, no physical attacker). However, I finally think I got the team right, as of now I am rank 21 in UU (current) with a 2060 rating, but I think my highest was in the top 20 somewhere. I think that's good but I'm not sure...

Well here's my team anyway

Mitt Rotomney (Rotom-Frost) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Blizzard
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Trick

Many people seem to agree that Rotom-H is the best Rotom in UU. However, I disagree. with 86 speed, it outspeeds heracross by 1 point, so you can just switch it in after sacrificing something to close combat, use blizzard, and they're gone. It also outspeeds pretty much every non scarf pokemon in the game and can hit them with one of it's moves. Trick is just to troll things like bronzong and umbreon.

Barack Obamasnow (Abomasnow) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Snow Warning
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Blizzard
- Focus Blast
- Giga Drain
- Hidden Power [Fire]

The president of the team, he gives his people hail, he is wearing a choice scarf, for one reason only. Nobody thinks it's wearing a choice scarf. Very many non-scarf mienshaos, as well as countless Nidokings and Nidoqueens have fallen to it's blizzard. Focus miss is there to kill cobalion and bisharp, but it only works about 5% of the time so yeah... giga drain kills swampert, hurts milotic and suicune.

Dicktini (Victini) @ Choice Band
Ability: Victory Star
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Jolly Nature
- V-create
- U-turn
- Bolt Strike
- Final Gambit

Steel types? dead. predicted v-create and switched into your blastoise? hope that bolt strike tasted good. send in arcanine? just u-turned into hitmontop. don't need victini anymore? final gambit! Victini is very useful for this team (too bad it might get banned...). It also resists them fire attacks that everything else on my team dies to, so that helps too.

Raichu (Raikou) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Rash Nature
- Aura Sphere
- Weather Ball
- Thunderbolt
- Calm Mind

Raikou is pretty much here because I wanted to try weather ball. he works really well on this team, actually. with weather ball+ thunderbolt he has some nice coverage, and aura sphere is there because i couldn't think of anything better to put there, but it's helpful against things like umbreon.

Hitmonnorris (Hitmontop) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 4 SDef / 252 HP / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- Toxic
- Rapid Spin

4 of this team's pokemon are weak to stealth rock. that's where this guy comes in. he resists rock and has rapid spin, so he's really helpful. with intimidate+ max defense investment he can pretty much take on every non flying type physical attacker in the game. stone edge hits flying types when they switch in, and toxic does a lot of damage combined with hail.
walrein.png

chocolate rein (Walrein) @ Leftovers
Ability: Ice Body
EVs: 252 SDef / 248 HP / 8 SAtk
Calm Nature
- Ice Beam
- Protect
- Substitute
- Toxic

Chocolate rein! Pokemon die while you don't feel a thing. Walrein has given me about half of my wins just because people ragequit when I start using it. sure, steel types with leftovers aren't hurt by this at all, but I have ways to deal with those in my team. Pretty much all i have to do is come in on a special attacker without a super effective move, set up substitute, and the stalling begins.

please give your opinions on my team and what I should replace.

Disclaimer: I haven't played UU in a while.

Right, so at least this team has a very clear win condition: Walrein. As such you should probably most of the time be building your gameplan about removing its counters - Taunt, Encore, phazing etc.

Okay, Raikou and Rotom-F seem to have pretty redundant roles on this team. I don't know which one to lose - while Rotom is a decently fast Scarfer, Raikou wouldn't be stacking up the weakness in the same way. I'd probably say Rotom-F edges it due to pretty much unresisted STAB and Trick, which really pisses off Stall if you time it right. I'd lose Raikou for Nidoking/queen, which is a pretty good Blizzard spammer and gives you handy resistances to Fighting and Rock (which is obviously good for hail). Plus it gets Stealth Rock, which is obviously really important on any team to wear down the stuff that checks Walrein, and it absorbs Toxic Spikes, which will render Walrein useless for the rest of the match.

I'm not sure that Scarf Abomasnow is the right set for this team - in my eyes SubSeed would probably be better here but I can't put my finger on why. I think it might be because Abomasnow still isn't that fast with a Scarf (eg, it still loses out to Cincinno, who threatens both it and Walrein with Rock Blast), and Rotom is already doing most of the work in that department.

To be honest, I don't like Final Gambit on Victini. It can be useful on the Scarf variant, but when you consider that Victini isn't invested in HP, it isn't always going to go first like a Scarf variant would, and it's normally losing 25% HP just by switching in, it seems really situational. Other moves like Brick Break, Trick or even Grass Knot (on a Banded set. I know!) seem more useful.

Hitmontop, in my eyes, might prefer Sucker Punch to Stone Edge. You're running a hail team - what flying types do you have trouble with anyway? It hits Chandelure and Victini but those are hit - with priority - by Sucker Punch anyway, and all other Fire-types are hit almost as hard by Close Combat. Another alternative - if you REALLY want to spin - is Foresight, though again, you beat offensive spinblockers with Sucker Punch anyway, and the defensive ones will burn you in return for spinning, which isn't great.

Finally, are you using Ice Beam over Blizzard on Walrein for PP reasons? That seems odd. Super Fang can be cool to actually hurt the likes of Bronzong but then stallbreaker Crobat messes you up. Speaking of which, since Walrein is not really that great against stall, (it tends to get beaten at its own game) your own stallbreaker (Mew, Crobat and Sableye being the best) could come in pretty handy.

To change:

Raikou -> Nidoking/queen
Final Gambit -> something else (on Victini)
Ice Beam -> Blizzard (on Walrein)

To consider:

Choice Scarf Abomasnow -> SubSeed Abomasnow
Stone Edge -> Sucker Punch (on Hitmontop)
Some kind of dedicated Stallbreaker

Hey! What an interesting Hail team you have there! Victini isn't going to get banned any time soon, and I seem to not like its nickname, perhaps you can change that section later?

I like your idea of using Weather Ball on Raikou, its a very novel idea! However, I feel that Aura Sphere needs to make way for Substitute, so that you can have protection against Status moves and irritating Scald Burns.

Raikou's Aura Sphere -> Substitute

Abomasnow with Choice Scarf is a great idea, I would never have thought of that! However, I feel that there are too many Scarfers on your team.

Perhaps you can change

Rotom-F's Choice Scarf -> Choice Specs

OR

Abomasnow's Choice Scarf -> Leftovers

OR

Victini's Choice Band -> Choice Scarf AND Rotom-F's Choice Scarf -> Specs

OR

Victini's Choice Band -> Life Orb AND Abomasnow's Choice Scarf -> Leftovers.

There are four options I have for you.

1. Rotom-F can use a Blizzard Bomber set, with Choice Specs, ensuring that all its opponents will fall down under Blizzard madness! However, this means that Abomasnow may be too slow to fight Heracross. This brings me to the next set:

2. Abomasnow's Choice Scarf doesn't do any good, after all, if you kill Nidoking with that, they'll probably find out that it's Scarfed anyway and will play around it. Not to mention, it is horribly slow; any other Scarfer will outspeed it easily. A common Leftovers / Leech Seed set would work better.

3. If you are afraid of Heracross with the Rotom-F becoming Specs, yet you would like the surprise factor that Abomasnow brings, try using a Scarfed Victini. It is a lot faster, can hurt Heracross and friends just as hard, and Blastoise or whatever is still wrecked by Abomasnow/Rotom-F

4. Victini's Special Coverage is superior to Abomasnow's. I mean, just look at it, Blue Flare is a monster, and it has stuff like Glaciate, Grass Knot, Psychic, Focus Blast, Thunder and more. Victory Star also gives it more accuracy for Focus Blast as well! It's a lot better than Abomasnow in this regard. Abomasnow can now take a backseat and use a Leech Seed / Stall set which will be better for the team.

Walrein also has some trouble taking on Poison-types as well, don't forget! Good thing it has Ice-Beam to defeat Roserade, but it has no answer to Qwilfish, but that is handled by Raikou!

Great job on reaching top 20, and I hope my suggestions help your team to become even better!

thanks for the advice, i'll try specs rotom, scarf victini, and i'll try replacing raikou with nidoking, and i'll try blizzard on walrein, idk about sucker punch on hitmontop though, i really don't like that move because of it failing if they don't attack
