If its not broken....

So I've been away from the scene for awhile, and I figured my way back in could be ushered in by some of my long-time-long-standard favorite pokemon. TSS was something I ran a LOT back in my Netbattle time, so to come back from nowhere, I figured that a sandstream team would do me some good. Here's where I'm at currently:

sugimori248.png

Tyranitar (M) @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP/32 Atk/224 SDef
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Payback
- Rest
- Stealth Rock

Standard lead Tyranitar. Personally my main focus with him is not an early SR, but rather the turn one Sandstream, as well as smacking Azelf upside its head. The Resto berry antics can be pretty funny once he's either scared something off by being himself, or taking a pretty big hit, only to completely heal himself and be scary all over again.

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 72 HP/252 Spd/180 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Grass Knot
- Thunderbolt
- Draco Meteor

I've been wanting to try this bugger out since I picked it up at Gamestop, and I'm hoping the one I nabbed has decent IVs. As far as I know it's always modest, so I took the EV skeleton from Superachi and tweaked it a bit. Well placed Draco Meteors pretty much obliterate dragons, whether I get a CM in or not, so I was thinking about replacing CM with Trick, and leftovers with Choice Scarf for some fast Jirachi shenanigans.

Forretress (M) @ Shed Shell
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP/112 Atk/144 Def
Relaxed nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Toxic Spikes
- Earthquake
- Rapid Spin
- Explosion

Standard defensive bagworm does everything a bagworm does. Set up spikes, keep spikes away. Earthquake to put a hurt on some of the pokes he likes to wall, Explosion to put a hurt on anything not immune/resistant once he's pretty much a goner.

sugimori260.png

Swampert (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 240 HP/52 Atk/216 Def
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Avalanche
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

Restalk Swampert now, instead of Machamp, because he gets the same job done, and gives me more breathing room when dealing with Heatran and the like. He also comes along with a more useful set of resistances and immunities.

sugimoris094.png

Gengar (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Spd/252 SAtk/4 HP
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Shadow Ball
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Trick

He's smiling because you don't know what he's going to do. I love Gengar because of his immunity spread, usefulness as a revenge killer, and the fact that he gets trick. I skipped out on the usual Focus Blast because I have good Fighting-type attacks elsewhere on my squad, plus I hate its miss rate. Also I felt the need to have something with a fast Ice-type move.

Salamence (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 4 Atk/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Rash nature (+SAtk, -SDef)
- Draco Meteor
- Flamethrower
- Brick Break
- Roost

In a nutshell, Mixmence is an asshole. Enough so that people want to push my favorite dragon into ubers next to that landshark that we don't talk about. Draco Meteor/Flamethrower/Brickbreak hits pretty much EVERYTHING for lots, Roost helps keep him alive when I can get it in there.

I realize it's pretty cut-and-dry, standard pokemon all day, but thats why I brought it here. With some help I'd like to spice up the squad a bit, and find some room for Scizor, because he's my absolute fave, and I'd like to play him with the rest of my favorites. Thus far I've won more than I lost, but my lack of a good sponge is making me frown a bit. Looking forward to the R/F's guys, thanks in advance!

EDITS SO FAR:
-Changed Gengar's nature from Timid to Modest.
-Changed Tyranitar's Stone Edge to Earthquake.
-Swapped Machamp for Swampert.

Solid team, however why not use a modest Gengar? More power, and speed isn't really an issue for Scarfgar.
Also, your jirachi is completely screwed by Magnetpull magnezone.
May I suggest Hp fire over Draco Meteor?

Draco Meteor is the point of the Jirachi. I try to save him for lategame so that doesent happen, but I do see your point. This is in testing so I can breed/rng it up and play on my DS, so if I lose Draco Meteor, thats it, its gone.

Also good point on the Gar, may as well add that bit more umph.

Yeah, I see were your comming from. I'm kinda a fan of gimmick sets myself :3
Also, I see how think your in the need of a sponge.
Personally, I don't think you are.
You have good Synergy, a good physical tank in Forry and also if your Ttar doesn't Die at the start it can turn into a special sponge later in the game ^^
Also, if you want room for Scizor you can remove machamp as the ttar has Rest and again, if it doesn't die at the Start can take Status and Rest it off.
Then you can either go for a SD/CB basic Scizor, or like myself use a more Gimmicky set :P
I run Impish, 252 Hp 220 Def 36 Atk
Technitian
Bullet punch
Roost
Toxic
U-turn/pursuit
w/leftovers.

The idea here is to poison common wall switchins: Such as Rotom, Gayrados, Zapdos etc.
It's more of a gimmick than anything.
But trust, it works ^^

The main reason I think I need a sponge at this point is that I'm having a spot of trouble dealing with Heatran, and if that's the case, I think there may be other heavy hitting special attackers that can blow a hole in my team, nothing I've seen other than the imp has given me too much trouble yet, but I'm not ready to say it isn't there.
