Ignition (A Pokebank OU RMT) by XenoBlade911.

Hello fellow smogonites,XenoBlade911 here welcoming you to my next RMT,this one is called Ignition. The reason called it ignition it's for two reasons: Because it's one of my favorite songs from TobyMac and because I thought it would sound cool for a team name. Anyway, this team got me close to 1900 and it turned out to be quite successful.

Ignition at a glance:

(sorry for the long Talonflame sprite but I couldn't find a small one.) :(

Team Building Process :

rotom-wash.gif

So to start off the team I wanted a solid Volt-Turn core thatwould have good synergy with each other so I thought of Scarf Genesect and Specially Defensive Rotom-Wash,these two are like some of the best pokemon in the tier while Genesect being one of the best scouts and Rotom being a solid check to Talonflame which genesect has a bit of trouble with, and grass types which give Rotom a few problems Genesect can check them, and they basically give me great momentum.

rotom-wash.gif
donphan.gif

Now I wanted a Stealth Rock setter and a Spinner so Donphan came to mind. What I like about Donphan is that he has sturdy which means he will almost always set up rocks or get to rapid spin so the team (specially a certain Priority user) doesn't get screwed by the Stealth Rocks. Also because he can revenge kill Garchomps or probably even kill them after some residual damage.

Now I wanted a hard hitting Pokemon and a Mega Pokemon so I chose Kangaskhan to be my mega evolution.Kangaskhan's ability makes it so it will hit the opponent twice which can help getting those KO's and break through Focus Sash pokemon like Alakazam or Breloom. And since it gets access to Power-Up-Punch with it's ability it's like using Swords Dance but doing damage at the same time. And it's relatively decent speed it can be used to outspeed a lot of pokemon like Adamant Salamence,Bulky Jirachi,Celebi, etc.

Now I wanted a fast solid answer to opposing Mega-Kangaskhan,Mega Pinsir and Klefki so I chose Talonflame. This is one of the reasons I run Donphan becuase of it's massive Stealth Rock weakness which kind of makes it not as useful as he normally is without the hazards on the field.Priority Flying Gem Acrobatics is something to be reckoned with and with Max Attack Adamant even more after a Swords Dance something will take a ton of damage, guaranteed.

As for the last member of my team I thought Whimsicott was a great Pokemon, now that it got rebranded to Fairy-Type it takes on any Dragon types without any trouble and can set up Cotton Guard specially on the likes of Garchomp locked into outrage. And this Whimsicott set is really effective.I'll explain the set with more detail when we take a closer look at the team.

A Closer Look :

Genoside (Genesect) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Download
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Hasty Nature
- U-turn
- Iron Head
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam

Genesect is potencially the best scout of the metagame at the moment whith it's access to U-turn and Choice Scarf. If it gets rebanned I'll have to run scizor instead nut oh well.Download makes it so it can raise Attack or SAtk depending on the opponent's Defense or SDef base stat. The set I run is Dual STAB in U-Turn and Iron Head for those Fairies,Thunderbolt for water types and Ice Beam to hit Garchomp,Dragonite,Salamence for SE damage.Genesect helps me out against a lot of stuff mainly against the likes of Helioptile,Mandibuzz,Whimsicott,Rotom-Wash.

Genesect's role on the team is to scout what the opponent will do to me and then to put pressure on a lot of pokemon with it's amazing coverage moves and ability. That was probably the reason it got banned since it had the best scouting abilities. It doesn't have much power but Download gives it a Choice Band/Specs (depending on the boost) and since it's mainly used as a scarfer thats's the reason it got banned from OU in Gen 5.And it's ability is really good to use.

DickWasher (Rotom-Wash) @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Spd / 252 SDef
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Will-O-Wisp
- Rest
- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch

Rotom is the perfect partner to Genesect. The ability to check Fire types which Genesect has trouble with specially Heatran which gives Genesect a rough time. This set is pretty good,I like it a bit more than Pain Split though Pain Split is pretty cool too.The set is Will-O-Wisp to cripple Switch-ins,Rest to get back to full health and instatnly wake up,Hydro Pump for a reliable form of STAB and Vol Switch to make VoltTurn with Genesect to restore momentum.

Rotom's niche on this team is to check Talonflame which is quite problematic to my team if it gets up a Swords Dance and it's an AcroFlame set with Flying Gem.And to act as my special wall, take a hit and get to Rest Up which can make your opponent try harder to weaken you.

donphan.gif
donphan.gif

Tusk (Donphan) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard
- Rapid Spin

Donphan is quite a solid spinner. He has pretty good synergy with Genesect checking Fire types. And he is a pretty good Bulky Attacking pokemon. He can take Physical Hits well even without investment and he can be a great guy to keep around since he also gets to revenge kill Salamence and Garchomp with Priority Ice Shard and hit really hard with STAB Earthquake from base 120 attack which I think it's really solid. The set is pretty standard it can support the offensive Pokemon in Stealth Rock and Rapid Spin to get hazards out of the field (specially Sticky Web).

Donphan's role is as my spinner and revenge kill weakened foes with priority Ice Shard, set up Stealth Rocks and spin away the hazards my opponent sets up.And it's also to take Physical hits really well.

.

Ur Mom (Kangaskhan) (F) @ Kangaskhanite
Ability: Scrappy/Parental Bond (When Mega Evolved.)
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Return
- Sucker Punch
- Power-Up Punch
- Fire Punch

Kangaskhan is what I call a Monster Incarnate and he gets the Parental Bond Ability when he mega evolves. This ability makes it so Kangaskhan will hit twice one with normal power and the second one with .5 BP which helps taking core of those sashed Pokemon like Alakazam and Sturdy pokemon like Donphan. The set I run is returnfor massive STAB and double hits,Sucker Punch to hit stuff like Gengar or pokemon that will try to revenge kill me and for priority,Power Up Punch to act like if I was using Swords Dance but dealing damage and Fire Punch to deal with freaking Trevenant which can wall Mega Kangaskhan to no end.

Mega Kangaskhan's role is as a primary sweeper with Power Up Punch and with the solid stats and bulk it possesses. It also serves to deal with Ghost types like Mega Gengar,Gourgeist,Trevenant, etc.

talonflame_by_sylvaur-d68rrm2.png

Deathshot (Talonflame) @ Flying Gem
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Flare Blitz
- Acrobatics
- Substitute

Talonflame is my secundary sweeper as he has priority Acrobatics paired with Flying Gem.I decided to run the Substitute+Swords Dance combo so I can avoid status from stuff like Gliscor which Talonflame completely set on and from Ferrothorn which I can also set up in it's face while he can do nothing about it.I prefer Acroflame over Brave Bird since Substitue with Recoil Moves are normally not good to run together but since Talonflame doesn't get better Fire moves than Flare Blitz I have to stick to using Flare Blitz even though I run sub. While it's typing may not be the best as it is quad weak to rock it gets the Rapid Spin support from Donphan which can make it last longer. And it has an odd number on HP ev's so it can switch into Rocks 3 times as oppose to 2 and can make 5 Substitutes as oppose to 4.

Talonflame's role is to check the likes of Trevenant which I can Sub On and then Swords Dance in it's face since it can't Will-O wisp me since I'm a Fire Type. And if you're wondering about the nickname,Deathshot is a villain from Batman Arkham Origins which I'm playing and I'm having a lot of fun with it.

Sara (Whimsicott) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Leech Seed
- Cotton Guard
- Giga Drain
- Substitute

And last but not least the massive troll of this team: Whimsicott.Whimsicott is what I call a Royal Pain in the Ass,it gets prankster and it gets the moves it needs to abuse it.Sub Seed and in Gen 5 it got Cotton Guard which increases Defense +3 which can make him close to unkillable if I say so myself. And he has Giga Drain to not be complete Taunt Bait. The Fact that he is Fairy Type makes me really happy since I can completely and totally set up on Outrage-locked Garchomps or Salamence with relative ease and then wall entire teams with it.The grass type along with Fairy is kinda ehh as it is now quad weak to Poison but Poison isn't a common type so it really isn't that big of a bummer. This is the ONLY pokemon I refuse to change.

Whimsicott's role on this team is to completely wall any Physical Attacker that opposes like Aegislash,Mega Kangaskhan,Mega Pinsir, etc. And it's named after my best friend of all time.Sara.
Threat list (from bigger to lower)

talonflame_by_sylvaur-d68rrm2.png

Opposing Talonflame can destroy my entire team if I lose my Rotom-Wash becuase he can set up on my Donphan's face because it lacks Stone Edge and it's insanely high speed and Priority abilty make my Genesect unable to deal with it .

Sticky Web: Now Sticky Web is also a big problem for my team after Donphan goes down, because if Donphan can't get to spin my team will get slowed down and I can get outsped and killed by other pokes.

kangaskhan.gif

Opposing M-Kangaskhan:This thing gets like 2-3 kills on my team and if Talonflame and Whimsicott are out of the way this thing sweepes my entire team which is a bad thing for me.

gengar.gif

Mega Gengar:This guy can trap my Whimsicott and kill it with the 4X effective poison Jab or it can get a Sub up and kill me after he does which means I could potencially end up sacking two pokes to this thing.

Conclusion:

So that's the team I built for you guys so if you have any suggestions feel free to reply and I'll get to test them straight away.So Hope you guys liked the team.Have a nice day until next time. Peace!

if sticky web is such a problem, I would recommend using a spinner that can handle garvantula. Donphan has a lowish sp def so it cant really face it well. So maybe try using bulky excadrill with rapid spin. It can take anything garvantula can throw at it while beating any spin blocker in the metagame.

Also, over whim, maybe you can try screens Klefki since it can add more support to the team as a whole while also having hazards. hope this helps!

I tried your suggestions, they were helpful but Klekfi and Exca make me really weak to Garchomp and Whimsicott was like my only check to Garchomp so sadly I'm gonna keep both of my guys, sorry. But nice suggestions anyway :D

I am getting a bit ahead of myself but I hope genesect gets banned, and in anticipation of that maybe you could run good ol scizzor and switch out donphan for maybe a defog mandibuzz. I have encountered two and they are surprising and very effective at their role. I dont know an exact set for mandibuzz but something like this
Mandibuzz
move 1: Foul Play
move 2: Roost
move 3: Taunt
move 4: defog
ability: Overcoat
item: Leftovers
evs: 248 HP / 208 Def / 52 Spe<br />
nature: Bold
It avoids sticky web and is really good at its role so i recommend trying it.
