DID SOME CHANGES!
Hello guys!
I'm new here and I made a new Rain Team and is working very well, it's a pretty simple rain team, a good synergy and if well played can do great results. This team was made for both, in game and showdown.
This is the rain maker, the key of the team. I'm going with special defensive Politoed cause he can resist Thunderbolts easily. Hydro Pump is the STAB water move, I'm using over Scald cause I already have Toxic here and sometimes can do a little bit more damage against walls. // Changed to Scald, I have too agree, Scald is very useful and Hydro Pump don't do much more damage, Perish Song is the way to do something against that pesky Bottom Passers.
Politoed @ Damp Rock
Ability: Drizzle
Calm Nature (+Sdef, -Atk)
252 Hp, 252 Sdef, 4 Satk
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Persh Song
- Rest
My special sweeper, crazy duck, soooo powerful under the rain, nice typing and coverage, also my second rain maker. Swift Swim make this guy awsome, he can run a modest nature with no problem, Giga Drain is great with Life Orb, Hydro Pump is killing machine, great guy. Is irreplaceable in this team! // Passed my Life Orb to another Pokémon and now I'm using Expert Belt here, also Focus Blast is here for coverage, but I hate that low acc.
Ludicolo @ Expert Belt
Ability: Swift Swim
Modest Nature (+Satk, -Atk)
252 Satk, 252 Spe, 4 Hp
- Hydro Pump
- Giga Drain
- Ice Beam
- Focus Blast
Here is the big head, the physical sweeper of this team. Another awsome user of Swift Swin and a good counter for that pesky Talonflme. 2 powerful STAB moves and X-Scizor solves the grass problem if has no priority. Lum Berry is here cause Kabutops hates burn and I can't use another Life Orb cause this is my in game team too. // Now Life Orb for more damage and Brick Break for coverage.
Kabutops @ Life Orb
Ability: Swift Swim
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -Satk)
252 Atk, 252 Spe, 4 Hp
- Waterfall
- Stone Edge
- Brick Break
- Sword Dance
My physical tanker that loves rain, also my stone setter. Sadly even in the rain Ferrothorn is weak against Fire, but still a great tank. Can't say much about this guy, this is just a pretty nice set and works very well. Maybe I'm going switch this with Toxicroak to do something against steel types. // Added Toxic for support, I agree too, another useful option.
Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spe)
252 Hp, 252 Def, 4 Atk
- Gyro Ball
- Toxic
- Stealth Rocks
- Leech Seed
Special Dragonite, what!? I know, this is the weird guy of the team, but after some tests he did his job very well, but almost as a late game sweeper. He has a good special attack and good bulky, acess to Hurricane and Thunder, both nice moves under the rain. There is no speed investment cause he can't outspeed mostly threats without Dragon Dance, so Hp is the way. I don't know if I will keep him yet, there are other options like Goodra and Noivern, but for now... // Now Dragonite is my second rain maker, he is bulky, and Sitrus Berry + Roost help me go back to the Multiscale zone, but still thinking about Goodra...
Dragonite @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Multiscale
Modest Nature (+Satk, -Atk)
252 Satk, 252 Hp, 4 Sdef
- Thunder
- Hurricane
- Dragon Pulse
- Roost
When everything goes wrong, here is the solution. Mega-Mawile is one of the most overpowered Pokémons in the OU set, and loves the rain too without fire weakness. So when I can't do anymore in the rain, just switch in my Mega-Mawile and start the sweep. Huge Power loves Sucker Punch and I love this. Iron Head is here just for that Fairy Types, so annoying.
Mawile @ Mawilite
Ability: Intimidate > Huge Power
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -Satk)
252 Atk, 252 Hp, 4 Def
- Sucker Punch
- Play Rough
- Iron Head
- Sword Dance
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Major Problems: Steel Types, Mega-Venusaur, Rotom-W. // Bottom Pass teams, Fighting moves.
Here is my Rain Team, suggestions are welcomed!
