I'm Back to Smogon for an OU RMT! (r/f 4 r/f)

Bulky Offense: OU RMT

Thank you to Legacy Raider for reasons he knows.

After a long break from playing Pokemon due to music I am back playing seriously. My team is similar to my old 3rd gen team. Parry attacks and hit back, then clean up. My team has not been doing well, and I have so many options I have no idea what to do.

Tyranitar (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP/180 Atk/72 Spd
Naughty nature (+Atk, -SDef)
- Stealth Rock
- Stone Edge
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Fire Fang

One of the biggest differences that I have found in my switch from 3rd to 4th gen was the changing importance of leads. It used to be that leads simply were there, and then the prediction trench fight began there. Now, leads seem to be everything. I have won or lost games right from my first turn. I have decided to use an anti-meta T-Tar set designed to kill Bronzong and Swampert. Even though it has worked well filling that niche, now I have serious problems dealing with Aerodactayl, as at least I can kill Azelf. This Pokemon sets up my Rocks and starts Sandstorm for Rhyperior, Heatran, and Swampert.

Heatran (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Naive nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Explosion
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power [Electric]

I have had doubts about using Heatran at all, and I am looking for a new set. This set is way to slow, and I have been looking for a replacement for it. Heracross or Scizor seems like an excellent option. This Pokemon was supposed to soak up hits and attack back, I found that this is neither fast enough for sweeping nor bulky enough for tanking and blasting.

Mismagius (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 108 HP/220 Spd/180 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Fighting]
- Calm Mind
- Substitute

I like Mismagius because it can take a hit unlike Gengar, and has more punch than Spiritomb. It can kill Blisseys as well as slower walls. I am thinking of running Will-o-Wisp, which has worked fine with this set before, and I think that I will replace Substitute with it. Thanks to this Pokemon I now have a few more KO's in my pocket, as the extra bulk compared to Gengar can make a big difference.

Rhyperior (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Solid Rock
EVs: 132 HP/192 Atk/168 Spd/16 SDef
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Substitute
- Stone Edge
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake

This set cleans up after all of the other Pokemon have been battered and attempts to sweep I don't know if I should use a MixMence instead, so I am just going to stick to this bulky set. There isn't really much more to say about this set. It is just bulky and it is powerful. This might be replaced with something that won't be killed by a Grass Knot, but I am not sure yet.

Swampert (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 240 HP/216 Def/52 SAtk
Relaxed nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Earthquake
- Ice Beam
- Surf
- Protect

I used this exact set in advance, and it works just as well as it ever has. MixPert is seen less commonly these days (I assume because most Swamperts are either purely physical or support sets), but this set can still pack a punch. This works toward my playing style of bulkier offence and is still a solid choice for any team. I might replace Protect with another attacking or support move, but it is doing fine in practice.

Celebi @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP/220 Def/36 Spd
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Grass Knot
- Recover
- Thunder Wave
- Reflect

This Pokemon form half of the Celetran duo. My Celebi has proven very effective against anything that can't KO it. It will Thunder Wave anything it can get it's hands on then Reflect. It will set me up for sweeps later in the game as well as hold my team together.

Thank you for reading my team.
