This team isn't more of the all out attacking teams like my other ones. This is more of a novelty type-team, and with Heracross as a core. This team works together too try and stop any threats opposing and blocking heracross for a nice, nifty sweep. Also, most opponents are heracross-weak to an extent, giving me a nice advantage.
Houndoom@Life Orb
40 hp/252 sp atk/216 Spe
Timid Nature
Flash Fire
- Nasty Plot
- Flamethrower
- Dark Pulse
- HP (Ground)
Houndoom is a novelty lead, but plays a star roll in my team's strategy. It's main goal is too smash steel types into the ground, but the main reason this is my lead, is because it resists most of gengar's moves (except focus blast that is likely to miss first turn anyway), it kills lead bronzong, flamethrowers yanmega, absorbs scarf moltres, and destorys forretress. If theres a lead aero, then I just switch to slowbro to take anything a lead aero has too do. Dark pulse is for STAB also destorying any psychics and anything that is resisting flamethrower when houndoom has a 1+ nasty plot boost. HP ground is for heatran that otherwise walls my houndoom completely. Other than maintaining it's goal, it is one of the special sweepers on my team.
Froslass@Focus Sash
252 S.Atk/252 spe/6 hp
Timid Nature
Snow Cloak
- Ice Beam
- Thunder Bolt
- Shadow Ball
- Destiny Bond/Psychic
Froslass is the special elements in this team. BoltBeam gives excellent coverage -- killing gliscor, gyarados, garchomp (too an extent), dragonite, and everything else needing a counter. Also, slowbro/weezing don't take too kindly too thunderbolt/psychic/whatever. I might consider psychic over destiny bond, but focus sash + Dbond works great together, especially with rapid spin support, but weezing might be a problem, but the special attacks might just be enough. Also, Shadow ball is for STAB and outrunning modest/non-max speed gengar, usually being spec'd.
Snorlax@Leftovers
252 hp/200 sp def/52 def
Calm Nature
Thick Fat
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Body Slam
- Crunch
Snorlax is my special wall, walling any gengar that has taken down my froslass and knowing my DBond stratagy, that is usually scarfed, which is an immidient threat too my heracross being slowing that it. Crunch takes care of gengar, while body slam gives para-support to anything else outspeeding hera with a choice scarf, usually opposing scarfcross. Rest/Sleep talk for Status Absorbing, which usually my team dies too.
Slowbro@Leftovers
212 hp/252 def/46 sp atk
Bold Nature
Own Tempo
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- HP electric
- Slack off
Slowbro is my attempt at the "broken" garchomp counter. It's also my gyarados and somewhat 2nd gliscor counter if froslass has died by then, which is very likely. Surf is for obvious STAB, killing infernape trying to sneak in and grassknot, slack off is for recovery, stalling most physical sweepers trying to run through my whole team. 212 hp evs for max leftovers recovery.
Forretress@Shed Shell
252 hp/172 sp. def/66 def
Relaxed Nature
Sturdy
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic Spikes
- Rapid Spin
- Zap Cannon
A rapid spinner/SR'er is very needed in this team -- or else my focus sash fros won't work as well or not at all, and SR/TS can also wear down faster oppenents than my heracross -- which need to be gone out of site in order for heracross too sweep. The extra sp def evs is for Deoxys-E trying to run through my team and magnezone getting a T-Bolt but not realizing I can escape, and Zap Cannon is an unlikely hope of para-support.
Heracross@Choice Scarf
252 atk/252 spe/6 hp
Adamant Nature
Swarm
- Megahorn
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- Night Slash
Heracross is the core of this team, if my strategy has worked out, gliscor/scarf dugtrio/slowbro/weezing/garchomp/etc are all gone and out of sight, leaving my heracross an open place to sweep. I unfortunatly didn't use this as my starter because I thought it was too risky too use him turn one, houndoom does a great job of killing most leads anyway. This also breaks any kind of special wall, including blissey/cress/slowking/etc. Heracross already has the fortunality of being already able to run through teams, it makes it even positive I score a sweep with killing all/most of the counters and threats too this pokemon. Night slash is used because some azelfs/leftover gengar/alakazam lurk late-game, will get killed.
Thanks for reading, I hope this team is more thought out then focus punching infernapes, lol.
