I'm Rick James, BITCH!

I would like to introduce myself as a competitive battler and whatever games I have played in the past that have affected my playstyle in the present. Images will be added shortly when I get the time to hop on a computer.

As a competitive battler I play a very aggressive game where relentless attack is the only way to win, I am not a fan of stall teams since a slower 100+ turn game is boring to me. When playing I consider the easiest way to power through their team and possible outcomes in the next couple turns. I have always thought and played the game like that when I figured out it was how I played.

I try to minimize "predicting" or guessing games is what I prefer calling it by playing in a relentless attack and thinking like my opponent with a little analysis in the first couple turns. If the opponent plays guessing games I shall think ahead of their very own plots, most people only think 1 2 steps ahead I think 3 4 steps past themselves, unless I am just spamming priority like a boss.

When creating teams like this I think of it with this team building method: You need an all around tank because an all offense team where everything dies in one hit isn't very suitable at all. Two or three Pokémon to form a core with offensive synergy. They should be able to come in and make pivot switches and all together dismantle the opponent's team. While constructing you will have 2 or 3 Pokémon left to build off of. On this team there are 2 Pokémon left, the remaining will be your revenge killer and supporter(s) because they make the team flow a lot better. Your support can deal with hazards, spinning, status, wish passing, screening or whatever helps your team flow. The revenge killer is fast and generally strong, a good example is Scizor or Terrakion. When one of your Pokés go down they come in and kill off or scare off the opponent. The final product is a team of 6 Pokés with great offensive synergy.

I have played a couple games that can relate to my play style now in Pokémon a couple that I can think of include but are not limited to:
• Chess [play passively early game, try to make some openings; push in mid game try to eliminate their power pieces, end the game with a secure lock up.]

• Yu-Gi-Oh [relentless offense with a feel to control the game and have advantage.]

• Every single game along the lines of Dragon Age and Marvel Ultimate Alliance [power through everything quickly and get to the point and finish it.]

I don't predict I think like my opponent and look for preferable plays for both sides in the next 3 turns.

Building teams of six Pokémon.

Yu-Gi-Oh, Chess and Dragon Age / Marvel Ultimate Alliance-esque games influence my play style.

This team is aggressive and is all about giving an ass whooping to everybody everyday. There isn't much to say the team speaks for itself.

Claydol @ Choice Scarf
EnjoyUrself
Levitate
Timid
252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Earth Power
Rapid Spin
Stealth Rock
Trick

• Brief Overview - Claydol replaced Xatu on this team (I'll update the images later.) Claydol is pretty cool for a support role since it gets the hazard + spin stuff going and messes up lolwallz. It has good defensive stats but the defensive typing is ... meh. Whatever though it has a pretty offensive role on this team anyways. Looking forward to further use with this thing.

• EVs, Nature, Item Purpose - Well this seems pretty much copied from an analysis. The bulk and speed and all that stuff we like. Scarf is just an easy speed and is nice to Trick away on walls and set up Pokés. It's all about Speed and Bulk to be honest.

• Moveset Explanation - Claydol is pretty much a supporter molded from the most generic clay. Rocks and Spinning is pretty helpful for this team, I don't want to have the rocks on my side since stuff on my team doesn't like switching in on them too much. Rocks are always good, preventing multiple free switch ins especially for the deadly rock weak Pokés. Earth Power is the only attacking move that will do damage, it is nice to hit Raikous and stuff. Trick messes up walls and set up Pokés as said previously.

Crobat (M) @ Life Orb
Rick James
Infiltrator
Adamant
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Brave Bird
Pursuit
Quick Attack
U-Turn

• Brief Overview - Crobat is an amazing revenge killer and I am surprised this Pokémon isn't played a lot, I feel like it's the Scizor of this tier sometimes. Funny thing is my Scizor is also named Rick James. The set is pretty standard revenge kill stuff. When played properly a lot of big threats can go down to this thing if the opponent misplays and a lot of people will misplay under the pressure this team can bring. This thing also serves the purpose of an Alakazam counter, oh I outspeed you, Brave Bird to the face, wanna switch? Pursuit.

• EVs, Nature, Item Purpose - I am not sure if this set is semi original or whatnot but this is the Crobat set I use most of the time. Inflitrator is pretty much the obvious choice here since Togekiss can't outspeed Crobat anyways and who knows Screens can be my downfall sometimes so a nice Brave Bird through the screens will always hurt. I was playing with the item quite a bit and I decided on Life Orb just to bring on the pain.

• Moveset Explanation - The attacks here are the nuts for revenge killing most of the time since every revenge killer has the same basic layout. You have the all around powerful move that puts on the pain, your priority move for an easy finisher and Pursuit so anything weak to it dies on impact. Brave Bird is STAB and mostly my bread and butter, the times I have used it is insane. Quick Attack usually cleans up a low HP Poké or when I dont want to take extra unnecessary recoil from LO. Pursuit is pretty much the fuck you to Alakazams, Mismagius', Chandaleures and Victinis. U-Turn keeps the momentum going and whatnot. I did consider Choice Band for the longest time but I've never tested it out.

Rotom-C @ Choice Scarf
BlackMagic
Levitate
Timid
4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spd
Leaf Storm
Thunderbolt
Trick
Volt Switch

• Brief Overview - Rotom is really good, it maintains momentum it's a great pivot switch so many things to say about this guy. I mostly use Rotom for amazing pivot switches and the ability to Volt-Turn. Momentum is just breeding all over the place. There isn't a lot to say about Rotom tbh.

• EVs, Nature, Item Purpose - Rotom-C is Scarfed just because it is probably the best thing to run on this team over bulky or Specs for the purpose of the included speed and we all love that stuff on our teams. When playing Rotom-C probably comes in as a pivot switch or off of a U-Turn most of the time since there is no reason to risk the Volt Switch momentum in the future. Levitate is the only ability that Rotom gets. EVs are for the obvious reasons strength and speed. Timid is good stuff just for the extra ability to outspeed certain things that I might want to outspeed and blah blah.

• Moveset Explanation - VoltTurnTrickofChoice Rotom is good, since you know momentum grabbing and stuff. Trick is just a great way to deal with walls since they lose the ability to switch between moves which I don't mind at all, it's actually helpful. Leaf Storm is STAB and whatnot, hits like a truck to everything that doesn't resist Grass. Thunderbolt is the main STAB for putting in damage and for a snappy kill. Volt Switch has been talked about through this whole entire time. This thing seems to dump all over Suicune if they don't get any Calm Minds up soon enough. I've yet to fond a good opportunity to swotch this into Suicune because Ice Beam hurts and all that good stuff.

Azumarill (M) @ Choice Band
FckYoCouch
Huge Power
Adamant
252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Aqua Jet
Ice Punch
Superpower
Waterfall

• Brief Overview - Azumaril is one of the most powerful UU Pokémon with a Choice Band. 654 Base ATK STAB Aqua Jets pretty much revenge everything. Azumaril is really great to be running in an offensive team. Not to mention it isn't that frail like other priority users. Definitely one of the most important members on the team.

• EVs, Nature, Item Purpose - This set is essentially the one from the Smogon analysis. Choice Band and Huge Power so you end up with this beast topping off at a total of 654 attack. The purpose of Azumaril on this team is to power through any wall at any given time. Only so much can take 2 or 3 hits from this monster.

• Moveset Explanation - The set is from Smogon however instead of choosing between Superpower or Ice Pumch I just run both on this set. This set pretty much explains itself, also it can net a nice revenge kill a lot and if a Suicune dies the opponent doesn't have much for Azumaril other than Sableye but they are really predictable and most people are nubs and just use it as an annoyer.

Cobalion @ Leftovers
FiveFingas
Justified
Jolly
44 HP / 252 Atk / 214 Spd
Close Combat
Stone Edge
Swords Dance
X-Scissor

• Brief Overview - Cobalion has a pretty good defensive typing and an alright movepool and a good STAB [the other is bad.] Cobalion is a semi-versatile Pokémon that can run 3 or 4 different sets. I decided upon the Swords Dance set since it is usually the best set on all the Musketeers [save Virizion where Calm Mind or Work Up is better.]

• EVs, Nature, Item Purpose - The EVs are for the creeping and I kind of need a little HP to live stuff and whatnot. Jolly is probably better than Adamant right now just because I probably don't need Adamant with Swords Dance and it could be dirty. Leftovers for recovery duh. Cobalion serves the team as 1 of 2 set up sweepers and while protected by Screens he isn't taking a lot of damage even from super effective damage and can just Swords Dance all day until the sweep is ready.

• Moveset Explanation - I have stated many times that this set is SD so it should be obvious, set up Cobalion then try and sweep. Close Combat is my main STAB, I have been playing around with using Savred Sword instead so CurseLax takes a lot more than they would hope to and I don't like getting killed automatically by priority. Stone Edge is nice coverage and it hits a lot of stuff in this tier for good damage like Arcanine, Abomasnow, whatever flying types people use and Venomoth, all of which really don't appreciate Stone Edge. X-Scissor can put in work on things that are weak to it and is nice coverage altogether. Iron Head is kind of viable I guess even though it hits nothing tbh that Stone Edge already hits.

Togekiss (F) @ Leftovers
Unity
Serene Grace
Timid
4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spd
Air Slash
Flamethrower
Nasty Plot
Thunder Wave

• Brief Overview - Togekiss can really be the most annoying Pokémon of all time with it's Serene Grace pals, Shaymin, Dunsparce and Jirachi since they all can do the same thing, paraflinch people to death. I decided to run the Nasty Plot variant because it is just nasty. +2 Air Slash and Flamethrower can't really get walled by a lot in the tier that just gets dealt with by something else on this team.

• EVs, Nature, Item Purpose - EVs are pretty simple I guess if you can't see that. Timid is for speed like Jolly since flinching doesn't work if you don't outspeed. Leftovers is recurring recovery. The purpose is for a special sweeper that can troll a whole team with little setup.

• Moveset Explanation - Nasty Plot is a +2 and only helps me sweep the opponent to oblivion. Thunder Wave for epic paraflimch action. Air Slash is for the flinching and it's STAB and it's special and all this good stuff. Flamethrower burns steels to the ground and stuff like that.

That was the team. Yes I know there is a recurring weakness, Rock and Ice, well you see, I don't give a fuck about defensive synergy. This team is all about offensive power to ram through everything that wants to get in the way. I know what beats me. The key to winning is adaptation and the thing is Cobalion eats Rock and Ice moves all day. Rotom C can pivot switch into an electric move and so forth.

Threat List:
• Abomasnow w/ HP Fighting: Covers everything on this team effectively but I'm not sure why anybody would actually use HP Fighting on Abomasnow but it's a threat regardless.

• Sub-NP Spiritomb on a Trick Room Team: If Cobalion is down I don't have much to stop it. If a Sub is up I can't effectively revenge kill with Azumarill. It's uncommon but every last threat that counts.

• Hitmonlee [Scarf] / Hitmonchan [Sub]: Well they both get perfect coverage on this team and all that. However nobody really uses these guys in UU.

• CM Raikou: Dangerous if Rotom goes down. There is no reason why they should get a big enough Sub with boosts.

Hey, I've got a few suggestions for your team:

First, your Crobat set needs some changing. I suggest using a stallbreaker set.

Crobat (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Inner Focus
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Brave Bird
- Taunt
- Roost
- Toxic / U-turn

Offensive Crobat is cool and all, but you have fast threats covered by Scarf Rotom-C and Aqua Jet with Azumarill. Because of this, Crobat really should be doing something else, and your team doesn't really have a way to break stall. With Taunt and Roost, you can shut down stall based Pokemon, prevent the enemy from setting up spikes, and wear bulky waters down that switch in with Toxic. Roost is also nice for Recovery, which Crobat appreciates.

On Rotom-C, Hidden Power Ice is kind of useless. It hits Roserade, but not very hard, and you'd be better off Volt Switching to Crobat. I suggest putting Trick over Hidden Power Ice. The reason for this is that it lets you cripple any Pokemon that might be giving you trouble, such as Calm Mind Suicune, or Porygon2. I can see Offensive Porygon2 giving your team a lot of trouble, and this would help to make it less of a threat, as long as you Trick it as it switches in, because Rotom-C wont take an Ice Beam too well.

Good luck with the team, I hope I helped!

Yeah I'm kind of retarded sometimes and forget Rotom learns Trick and all. Adding it.

Stallbreaker Crobat is alright and all but trust m, this team can be an absolute nightmare to stall teams, I'll try it though, see how it goes.

I feel that your team would hate electric-types like Raikou once Rotom is unconscious. If its the Calm Mind set, and Raikou is already behind a Sub, gen Rotom will have trouble beating it because of HP ice. Other than that, it seems pretty good.

Also, isn't thinking like your opponent predicting their actions?

I dunno. I haven't seen a Raikou in ages, notable threat though, adding to the threat list.

If Raikou isn't behind a Sub I'm pretty sure Azumarill can kill it if I really want to risk it.

raikou is one of the most played pokemon in UU ,he's literally on 1/2 team , and subCM raiko u can really hurt you it can setup on togekiss (sub on the twave) or xatu .

otherwise i like the team and the format , although the introduction is bit cocky .

Hi Penance, decent team.

The biggest issue I see has already been mentioned multiple times, and that's your weakness to electric-types. You only have one resistance, but pack four weaknesses and no immunities. Normally this isn't a big deal on offense-driven teams, but you also lack a way to revenge kill electric types; Azumaril can't even reliable 2HKO offensive Raikou with Aqua Jet, and has no chance against the Sub CM. An easy solution is to replace your Xatu with a Claydol. He'd be more defensive than the rest of your team, but Xatu isn't exactly a hard hitter anyways, and is giving you another Electric/Rock weakness. Here's a good set.

Claydol@Choice Scarf
Timid Nature, 252HP/4Def/252Spe
Trick
Earth Power
Rapid Spin/Reflect
Ice Beam/Stealth Rocks/Reflect

This is Claydol's least defensive set, aiming to Trick away its Scarf to quickly cripple something. However, the big draws for you are that it can perform a similar role to Xatu, clearing the field of hazards, setting up its own, or putting up Screens. Earth Power is for STAB, and thanks to the Scarf Claydol can actually pick off weakened pokemon before you use Trick. If you'd like you an change the item to Leftovers and put one of the slashed moves in Trick's place for a much more flexible set. If you do, move the Speed EVs into his defenses.

Even if you choose to not us Claydol, you really need to get rid of one of your Electric weaknesses. Even though it's not terribly common, Raikou eats you alive right now and Rotom/Rotom-A is everywhere. Other good options are Krokodile, Flygon, and Swampert.

I hope that helped. Good luck.

Sounds good, I'll do it. Anyways, does anybody have an opinion of Dugtrio on this team? I've been looking around with it but haven't played around with it.

Sorry if I did sound cocky, didn't intend it.
