Immunities, Immunities Everywhere

Hey guys! Wannabe here with a new team. A lot of teams I've seen had this whole "Grass, Water, Fire" defensive core, so I was like, "Hey, I'll try that out too!" So, here's the team that I've made!

Heatran @ Leftovers
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 248 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Calm Nature
- Lava Plume
- Protect
- Earth Power
- Toxic

The first Pokemon that I chose was Heatran. Not only was it a nice, defensive Fire-type, it also had the ability Flash Fire, making it able to absorb more attacks than other fire-types. The EVs given are for the basic Specially Defensive set, as are the moves, except that I replaced Roar with Earth Power. I basically use this guy as a special wall, along as a way to sponge Dragon Type moves that might otherwise ruin my team. This guy is immune to Fire and Poison.

Jellicent @ Leftovers
Trait: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 SDef
Calm Nature
- Scald
- Recover
- Ice Beam
- Will-O-Wisp

Jellicent is the next Pokemon in my defensive core. It was a toss up between the jellyfish and Gastrodon, as they both have the ability to absorb Water-type attacks. However, Jellicent proved to have more bulk, and thus got the spot on my team. This is the basic Special Wall set. I know, I know, two special walls, but it's worked so far. And this wall can Recover, so that's a plus. Jellicent is immune to Water and Normal type moves.

Sawsbuck (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sap Sipper
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 HP / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Horn Leech
- Jump Kick
- Nature Power
- Return

What? Sawsbuck? Not Ferrothorn? If you haven't noticed, my other two "starter" Pokemon also had immunities to their own type, so I decided to continue the pattern. Sawsbuck was the only Grass-Type Pokemon that fit the bill. Horn Leech and Return for STAB, and Jump Kick and Nature Power for nice coverage. It's not like he learns any other moves anyway. Sawsbuck is immune to Grass and Normal type moves.

Donphan (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spd
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Rapid Spin
- Ice Shard
- Earthquake

Now, on to the rest of my team. I decided right away that I needed both a spinner and a SR layer. That left me with Forretress or Donphan(Or Kabutops, Omastar, Armaldo.. you get the idea). I decided that I desperately needed a physical wall that can still hold it's own in battle, and didn't have a common type with any of my other Pokemon. I try to avoid that. I usually set up SR, and then switch out to the appropriate Pokemon (Jellicent for Water-Types, Heatran for Fire-types, etc.) It works 100% of the time, 60% of the time. Donphan is immune to electricity.

Mew @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Synchronize
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Modest Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
- Flamethrower
- Psyshock

Mew! I'm finding it increasingly hard to create a team without her. She just fits any role I need, no matter what it is. This time, she's a revenge killer. Gyardos? Thunderbolt. Garchomp? Ice Beam. Ferrothorn? Flamethrower. Conkledurr? Psyshock. I chose Psyshock over Psychic so that I can better take care of the pink blobs, since I don't have many physical fighters on my team. The EVs are so that Mew can get in, and attack hard. Mew, sad to say, has no immunities.

Zoroark (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Illusion
EVs: 200 Atk / 92 SAtk / 216 Spd
Naughty Nature
- Night Daze
- Flamethrower
- Low Kick
- Sucker Punch

Zorark, the master of disguises. I love using this Pokemon, just to mess with people's heads. I usually disguise it as Jellicent, since they don't have any similar weaknesses. This is the basic mixed attacker, and can easily confuse people. Night Daze hasn't failed me yet, but usually the game is up once I use Zoroark's special move. Nothing else to really say about him, other than him having an immunity to Psychic-type moves.

Hi there. So this team is pretty cool, but I think I have a few suggestions that will make it a bit better. You're team seems pretty stallish with Jellicent + Heatran + Donphan, but I'm not sure I'm liking Sawsbuck. It's only niche in the OU tier is that it's a good Sun Sweeper, and you're not running a Sun team so I believe it's outclassed. I think you should replace Sawsbuck with Celebi, as it shares incredible synergy with Heatran, and has relaibe recovery. Here's the set.

251.gif

Celebi @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 40 Spd / 216 SDef
Calm Nature
- Baton Pass
- Giga Drain
- Psychic
- Recover

So EVs are used to outspeed most Tyranitar, Scizor, and Adamant Breloom. The rest of the EVs are placed into SpDef to tank hits from Keldeo and Politoed. Baton Pass is used to gain momentum for your team and escpae Pursuit from Tyranitar and Scizor. Giga Drain is STAB and offers some recovery, which is pretty nice. Psychic is also STAB and is used to hit Breloom and other Fighting type attacks. Recover is used to keep Celebi nice and healthy.

My next suggestion would be to replace Mew with Latios. Latios has better STAB, hits harder, and is faster. While it doesn't have the coverage like Mew, it helps you out a lot more with Sun teams, which can be troubling to you.

Latios (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Trick
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Surf

Max Speed to out speed Scarf Keldeo and Modest Venusaur, while max special attack is used to hit as hard as possible. Trick is used to cripple Blissey and Chansey switch ins. Draco Meteor is STAB and hits everything not named Tyranitar or Steel types hard. Psyshock is STAB and is used to hit Keldeo and Terrakion for great damage. Surf offers nice general coverage, and is boosted when facing Rain teams, which is always nice.

Other than that, I really like your team. Congrats man, and good luck in the future.

(Still editing sorry for accidentally posting too early)
Hey there, it's a great team but there's a couple of threats that can shred it. Breloom hits five of your pokes super effectively, gengar hits five, and alakazam running psychic, shadow ball, focus blast, and hidden power ice hits them all super effectively (the smogon set hits five of them super effectively).
First, I second the change from sawsbuck to celebi because you would otherwise get wrecked by a breloom.
Also, I recommend changing your choice scarf mew to choice scarf jirachi. This will allow you to take down those pesky alakazams and gengars that hit basically everything super-effectively. Even if it can't take them both down, it will bring them to their sashes for your donphan to finish them with an ice shard. Otherwise, you could use jolteon (who adds to you immunities), both of which only live on switch-in, sadly. I know zoroark and mew can sucker punch to the sash and then revenge kill with the mew (or ice shard), but neither live a predicted switch-in which means you'll always have to sac a poke or two to get rid of those annoying threats. If you don't want to get rid of those though, you could always play very carefully, and just put a sash on zoroark. This means no hazards for the opponent and no damage on zoroark.

Jirachi @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef. / 252
Jolly Nature
Iron Head
Zen Headbutt
U-turn
Fire Punch
Max speed and attack to hit as hard and fast as possible. Four EVs in special defense to make sure no pokes with download can get a special attack boost. Also, jolly nature allows you to out speed hydreigon and speed tie jolly choice scarf salamence (other kinds are out sped). Iron head because it's STAB and has a high chance for a flinch. Zen headbutt to deal with brelooms and gengars. U-turn makes your Jirachi a great scout. Fire punch hits ferrothorn, scizor, and ferrothorn for super effective damage.

135.gif

Jolteon @ Choice Specs
Trait: Volt Absorb
EVs: 4 Def / 252 Spa / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
Thunderbolt
Volt-Switch
Hidden Power Ice
Signal Beam
The EVs allow Jolteon to hit as hard and fast as possible while keeping its HP at a good stealth rock number (odd). Choice specs are to guarantee the OHKO on Gengar and Alakazam. Thunderbolt and Volt-Switch are because without thunderbolt, you can't OHKO either, and Volt-Switch is for the necessary scouting. Hidden Power Ice hits dragons super effectively and signal beam is great for hitting celebi (also, Jolteon's move pool has no other good moves).

Hey shootinstarmie, thanks for the reply! I suppose you're right about Sawsbuck's niche not being used on my team, and I guess Celebi would be more useful. The only problem I can see with this is that Donphan and Zoroark would be my only physical attackers. I'll still try her out. As for Latios, I actually did replace Mew with Latias at one point, but that didn't work. I'll try Latios and this moveset instead, since this moveset does hit a lot harder.

And thank you for the reply, water610. I did not even notice those huge threats until now, I guess I was just lucky against who I was battling lol. I'll make another copy of the team and try out your changes too. Jirachi would also bring another physical attacker to my team, so that's a plus.
