First of all, I'm sorry for eventual grammar errors and the horrible syntax, english is not my first language.
I fully understand this is not an easy task, but I think this could be the next big step for PS. In my opinion, implementing a built-in Bo3 mode would bring huge benefits to the community, such as
1. An answer to the matchup issue
Even though I often compare competitive pokemon to chess when talking to non-pokemon players, they are not the same. In pokemon battles, matchups plays an extremely important factor and it's not rare to predict the outcome of a match just form the team preview. This is obviously an issue in certain tiers more than others, e.g. in RBY OU this is not much of a problem but in tiers like Monotype or 1v1 it certainly is (in fact this has sparked a very interesting discussion here regarding SCL tiers): bringing a mono fire team against a mono water team is like playing a game of chess without a queen. This is a well known fact and has been such for years now, and the answer has always been playing Bo3 matches in tournaments. So, if it is something that we have always done manually, why shouldn't we incorporate it in the main PS code? This would allow us to answer the matchup issue not only in manually hosted tournaments game, but also in room tours and even in ladder games, which brings us to
2. A new fun way to play
If you ever played in a tournament you should know that it's deeply different from (but still linked to) the ladder: you tend to bring much safer teams and end up making much safer plays, while the ladder on the other hand is a much more extreme and crazy mode of playing, full of one time tricks that works only the first time you see them and full of people making absolutely crazy play just for showing off. And honestly I love it, it's so much fun. But I also love the tournament's safer, more calculating way of playing and it shouldn't be much of a surprise if I tell you that there is people who absolutely hates the ladder and only enjoy tours games. Thus, since we have two very different approach to the game both of which are a ton of fun each in its own way, I think it should be fitting to have both implemented on the main server in two different ladders (like OU blitz). This is something that has been added to many popular games, such as chess on chess.com and magic the gathering on magic arena and I honestly can't think of a reason not to do it besides maybe technical limitations.
Thanks to have read this far, I hope you have a nice day :)
