In honor of a friend

So I wanted to make a new team focusing around Infernape. I dont want it to be a lead, I wanted it to be an attacker. Not just an attacker, but an attacker that can perhaps setup to be more powerful. But anyways, lets start with Ape

Going well with ape comes Celebi, who can help handle bulky water types

I needed something that can help both of them survive a bit longer, and Scizor came to mind with his powerful priority and resistances

The team is appearing a little fire weak, and one that can better handle that as well as take care of entry hazards is the powerful Starmie

I needed a good lead, and one that has worked out for me very well in the past has been Metagross

and finally, with metagross, scizor, and celebi all being rather weak to fire, I could stand to have someone else be there to draw the flames. Dragonite comes in on fire pretty well, and he can use the opportunity to setup as well

Lead

Lum Berry Adamant
~ Stealth Rock
~ Meteor Mash
~ Bullet Punch
~ Explosion
252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spe

Hes been my lead for a while, and I really like what he does for me. Meteor mash doesnt hit as hard as Earthquake, but it has a possibility of an attack increase and hits a wider variety of pokes. Sets up stealth rocks, does some damage, and in a pinch, goes BOOM

Specially-Based Mixed Attacker

Life Orb Naive
~ Fire Blast
~ Close Combat
~ Grass Knot
~ Hidden Power Ice
64 Atk / 252 SpA / 192 Spe

Im torn between nasty plot and Mixape. Without nasty plot, Im going to need the power of fire blast, but the accuracy worries me. If I was going with Nasty plot, Id probably choose flamethrower. However, the type coverage of this set, plus the ability to carry a decently powerful stab close combat makes me lean toward this

SubSeed

Leftovers Timid
~ Substitute
~ Leech Seed
~ Baton Pass
~ Grass Knot
252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spe

Celebi can take care of the bulky water types that might try to come in on either Metagross or Infernape. And with baton pass he can bypass Pursuit, right? I think thats how it works... Anyways, Substitute is a great move to pass on with Baton pass, and leech seed can wear down and heal teammates. Grass knot is pretty powerful on alot of pokes as well.

Choice Band

Choice Band Technician Adamant
~ U-turn
~ Bullet Punch
~ Superpower
~ Pursuit
248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spe

Pursuit on a banded Scizor is a force to be reckoned with. Banded+technition bullet punches are just as fearsome. Hes powerful without the need to setup. He can Uturn to scout and superpower helps knock down heatran and others. Hes my revenge killer and scout I guess. But his immunities are amazing, yet his weakness is common.

Rapid Spin

Leftovers Natural Cure Timid
~ Rapid Spin
~ Surf
~ Thunderbolt
~ Recover
252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe

Rapid spin allows me to get rid of entry hazards when I have the time, which can make my life orb infernape last a bit longer, and help Dragonite come in unharmed. He also can resist some fire moves that might be aimed at a few of my fire weak pokes, and counter with a surf, recovering off the damage later.

Dragon Dancer

lum berry Adamant
~ Roost
~ Earthquake
~ Dragon Dance
~ Outrage
252 HP / 52 Atk / 204 Spe

I needed a good physical sweeper, and coming in on a fire attack would leave this fearsome beast to get up a dragon dance. Earthquake is darn powerful, but with an outrage dragonite can really make people worried. He does draw in ice attacks though, which if im not mistaken, Infernape resists?

Hey man, nice team here. I do see a few weaknesses though.

The first thing I notice is that DD Gyara, LO Starmie, Offensive Suicune, and LO Jolteon are quite problematic for you. Normally, Celebi is a great check for these threats, but your Celebi uses Leech Seed instead of Recover. This means that Celebi can be worn down quite quickly since it loses access to instant recovery, and Leech Seed doesn't recover fast enough for Celebi to continue to switch in to these threats. You also dont really have enough hazards like spikes to abuse the switches that subseeding forces. I recommend changing Celebi to a Physically Defensive variant. This Celebi has good bulk, and can come in repeatedly to take on those threats.

Celebi @ Leftovers
Bold Nature (+def, -atk)
252 HP, 220 DEF, 36 SPE

Grass Knot
Recover
Thunder Wave
Earth Power/HP Fire

hmmm alright, so change up celebi to a more active role. Any other advice from you guys or did I make something pretty good on the first shot?

If your behind a substitute when you switch, you won't take damage from Pursuit anyway. I would change Baton Pass to HP Fire to handle enemy Grass-types and for SE against Steels.

You don't need to change any pokemon, but I also subbest changing Celebi's set. Your team doesn't benefit from Leech Seed much, as they do not rack up damage by switching without Spikes. The threat's sharks listed need to be covered, as DDgyara is common, and so is LO Starmie. I will suggest using the set sharks suggested. EarthPower vs HP Fire is the choice between hitting Scizor and Heatran. I would suggest using HP Fire because Heatran is better covered by your team. Hope this helps.
