Rejected - Inactive Increase the Showdown Timer after a disconnect

I don't know whether or not this is the best place to suggest it but recently, I came to find out the timer is rather harsh on people who disconnect. Every time my internet dies for a second or when the server creates issues it takes too long and not too mention I have to see the loading screen either taking long enough so I have no chance of keeping the hard fought points (which is quite annoying on a suspect ladder) or it does not load at all and I keep refreshing and after a few tries it finally shows the page where you only see the screen showing how many points you lost. Worst of all is, when you rejoin the page but it somehow doesn't let you join as a member and you see everything but aren't logged into your account for some reason and that slows it down even more (one issue which forces refreshing at times). I don't know what your average rejoin time is but what I know, is that the timer does not suffice from my perspective (from the last 10 dcs maybe 1 or 2 weren't tough enough for me to rejoin and one only because my opponent was kind enough to stop the timer). I do not see any reason to give the dc'ed person a bit more time, if the person who leaves the battle just ragequit and for some reason don't feel able to just close the battle or forfeit, then they will deservedly lose the battle soon enough and there is always the option to search for another battle (I know you risk having to do two battles at once but most of the time you can tell, if you are dealing with someone who genuinely disconnected or just quit) or chat with somebody or go into the teambuilder while waiting. I think battles should be won in the game, not outside it and we are on the site to compete (that's at least one reason), there is nothing more frustrating than to not even be able to do something in the first place and one should not discard those with weaker or more fragile connections, most people went through that at least one time (to be fair, I am grateful that you can at least reconnect on showdown, unlike the actual wifi game).

I want to bump this thread, recently I've lost probably over 500 points across different formats in the last few days because my showdown will not show that I have disconnected (will not display the reconnect button, or will not reconnect unless I refresh). So, unless the timer is on and I realize it is not ticking within 30 seconds of it not ticking, or continually type messages to see if I am still connected, it is impossible to constantly refresh when needed through multiple ladder games. My internet isn't even particularly bad, and I think it is even more unfair to players with worse internet than mine. There have been multiple instances where the timer has not been on (I don't turn it on myself), and I think my opponent is just thinking when I am actually disconnected and my reconnect timer is ticking down. By the time I realize they are not just thinking, most of the time it is already too late to continue the game and I've automatically lost. I don't think there is that much cost in increasing the timer to reconnect, making the other person wait longer is not really a huge deal when all they have to do is just sit there and wait. I think even 30 more seconds allowed for reconnecting would be very helpful, although it might be hard to quantify what the correct addition is if potentially modifying the reconnect timer.

While I think "get better internet" is a good solution to this issue as well in some capacity, I think my main issue is that it is impossible to realize that I am disconnected from a battle unless I am constantly checking every minute to see if I am connected, which is not an ideal way for me to play the game. I and many other players would appreciate an extra buffer zone to prevent this situation from happening. I'm sure there are other issues with raising the disconnect timer amount that I did not touch on, but I don't have the brainpower to think about every scenario. I hope this proposal will be considered.
