I don't know whether or not this is the best place to suggest it but recently, I came to find out the timer is rather harsh on people who disconnect. Every time my internet dies for a second or when the server creates issues it takes too long and not too mention I have to see the loading screen either taking long enough so I have no chance of keeping the hard fought points (which is quite annoying on a suspect ladder) or it does not load at all and I keep refreshing and after a few tries it finally shows the page where you only see the screen showing how many points you lost. Worst of all is, when you rejoin the page but it somehow doesn't let you join as a member and you see everything but aren't logged into your account for some reason and that slows it down even more (one issue which forces refreshing at times). I don't know what your average rejoin time is but what I know, is that the timer does not suffice from my perspective (from the last 10 dcs maybe 1 or 2 weren't tough enough for me to rejoin and one only because my opponent was kind enough to stop the timer). I do not see any reason to give the dc'ed person a bit more time, if the person who leaves the battle just ragequit and for some reason don't feel able to just close the battle or forfeit, then they will deservedly lose the battle soon enough and there is always the option to search for another battle (I know you risk having to do two battles at once but most of the time you can tell, if you are dealing with someone who genuinely disconnected or just quit) or chat with somebody or go into the teambuilder while waiting. I think battles should be won in the game, not outside it and we are on the site to compete (that's at least one reason), there is nothing more frustrating than to not even be able to do something in the first place and one should not discard those with weaker or more fragile connections, most people went through that at least one time (to be fair, I am grateful that you can at least reconnect on showdown, unlike the actual wifi game).
