Infernape: A Forgotten Threat (Uber Analysis)

Good afternoon. Welcome, one and all, to the thread that will revive the long forgotten threat in Ubers, Infernape. I remember how popular Infernape was during the last gen, and now, it has worn off his impression, well, that is in Ubers as most people see many things that completely outclass Infernape, such as Mewtwo;

106/110/90/154/90/130 compared to 76/104/71/104/71/108

Now, I know you're all face-palming your heads. 'Infernape is an OU player,' most of you would utter. Some of you will also say, 'Infernape is outclassed in Ubers.' And the occassional 'Salamence is much better.' Or the 'Garchomp faps Infernape's butt.'

Now, Infernape has a boon that most would not get in Ubers; the ability to set up both sides of the spectrum in quicktime, and also a Blissey murderer and being a special sweeper at the same time.

Sure, Infernape will be a victim in Ubers, having so many counters, but you must know that so far Infernape is able to "counter" his 'counters.'

I see so many sets Infernape can muster. It is actually that versatile.

Before the 'Darkrai owns Infernape talk', let's hear all what I have to say.

Infernape @Life Orb
Moves: Overheat, Close Combat, Stone Edge, Earthquake
Potential moves: Hidden Power Ice, Grass Knot
252atk/ 52sp.atk/ 200spd

-This set is a mixed and yet effective set.
-With Infernape's above average speed, it will outspeed many average players.
-Overheat is for desperate kills, killing most unresisted foes, or either fatally wounding them, and is able to OHKO some opponents with SR damage
-Close Combat is for Blissey; it is a thorn on your side
-Stone Edge is for the newcomer, popular Thundurus, and also Lugia and the infamous Ho-oh, and the occasional Volcarona used by some
-Close Combat is also good for killing Ferro, which fire will not in the rain
-Grass Knot can be used for destroying heavyweight Kyogre and Groudon
-Hidden Power Ice for Rayquaza, Garchomp, Salamence and others

Infernape @Choice Scarf
Moves: Close Combat, Flare Blitz, Earthquake, Mach Punch
252atk/ 252spd/ 4hp

-This is a fast and furious attacker, destroying many things on impact
-Mach Punch for Tyranitar
-Scizor suffers to a Flare Blitz, so does Bisharp and Metagross
-Earthquake for Reshiram and Zekrom
-For non-scarfed Darkrai, a Close Combat
-This set is countered by Latias completely

Infernape @Choice Band
Moves: Close Combat, Mach Punch, Flare Blitz, Earthquake
252atk/ 252spd/ 4hp

-This hits very hard, OHKOing Sally easily
-Mach Punch on a Tyra ensures death unless too bulky, perhaps
-Kyogre will be heavily damaged or killed with Close Combat
-Ferro will thinner out

Infernape @Choice Specs
Moves: Hidden Power Ice, Focus Blast, Fire Blast, Blast Burn
Potential Moves: Hidden Power Ground
252sp.atk/ 252spd/ 6hp

-This screams total bloodshed.
-Focus Blast from this has the raw power to destroy Dialga
-Blast Burn is for extreme raw power, as to damage foes in a last attempt before fainting; a last resort
-Hidden Power Ice if speced will destroy incoming dragons
-Fire Blast can be replaced by Flamethrower

Infernape @Life Orb
Moves: Swords Dance, Earthquake, Flare Blitz, Stone Edge
252atk/ 252spd/ 6hp

-Set-up Infernape is able to OHKO Arceus with a STAB Flare Blitz after two or a dance if Arceus has no investment in defenses
-A Stone Edge that might OHKO Latias after a dance
-SD Earthquake to demolish the Unova duo, and to check many stuff; like Volcarona, Bisharp, Victini....
-Destroys "pushovers" who have Whirlwind or Dragon Tail, perhaps after a dance able to kill Lugia

That's all so far. Now go out there, make more new sets, and use Infernape as an Uber! It's time to see the potential in the fiery ape.

P.S. The Nasty Plot set hasn't been mentioned, I have very little time to write this. SO tell me your feedback.
