Balance Is Bliss [OU RMT]
Hi there! Recently I've been getting back into OU, and I've come up with a new team. It's OK, but it has a few problems (I'll get to them later). Could someone help me out? Thanks. OK then, here goes...
I think I sould also point out, this will be a WiFi team. It has been tested on Shoddy.

Ok, with that, let's move on!
The Lead
Ambipom @ Silk Scarf
Ability: Technician
EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Fake Out
- Taunt
- Brick Break
- Return
OK, this is my lead. Standard Lead Ambipom, the main technique is to Fake Out, then either Return/Brick Break to death, or Taunt, or switch. It's a good way of getting in damage eairly and is ideal against slow Stealth Rockers.
Common Leads and what Ambipom does about them:
Red is a threat
Yellow can be a threat
Green isn't a threat
Black means I haven't come across it yet
The Sweepers
Jirachi @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP/220 Def/36 Spd
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Wish
- Thunderbolt
- Psychic
Jirachi acts as my main special sweeper, and it does one hell of a job. This can set up Calm Mind a couple of times, then go on a rampage with ThunderBolt and Psychic. Wish means it can heal itself and others, which is good, as healing moves are genrally lacking in the team. Earthquakers scare it a bit, but it's Defences mean it can survive at least one usually. Mainly a counter to Gyrados, bulky Waters such as Slowbro, with Psychic for a powerful STAB move, which counters Infernp on switch ins and others.
Mamoswine @ Life Orb
Ability: Snow Cloak
EVs: 252 Atk/4 Def/252 Spe
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard
- Stone Edge
- Superpower
Mamoswine is the phsical Pokémon to the team. Ice Shard comes in handy against Dragons, and Pokémon such as Machamp, which Ambipom has weakened enough. The rest are there to counter various other things, such as Metagross and Infernape. I've opted for an Adamant nature for more power, however I feel I should change it to Jolly.
Infernape @ Life Orb
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 64 Atk/192 Spd/252 SAtk
Naive nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Flamethrower
- Close Combat
- Grass Knot
- Hidden Power [Ice]
My Mixed Sweeper. I've opted for a more specially-based set, as Ambipom is physical, so it keeps the numbers equal. Genrally used to deal out large damage very quickly, it can counter a lot. If possible, I'd quite like alternatives to Grass Knot, as it hasn't been very useful, and HP Ice, because it's difficult to get in-game (though it will most likely just end up being a legal hack anyway).
The Walls
Blissey @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 24 HP/252 Def/232 SDef
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Softboiled
- Toxic
- Ice Beam
- Flamethrower
OK, this is the one causing the most problems. While it is very helpful and can wall special moves very well, as well as pull of a Toxic stall, it just doesn't do much else. It does it's job well, but only sometimes. A change of set or Pokémon would do nicely here.
Weezing @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/4 SAtk
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Fire Blast
- Thunderbolt
- Pain Split
- Explosion
This is the Physical wall. It does it's job well, especially as it can avoid threats like Earthquake entirely, as well as Fighting being Not very effective. Fire Blast is the main attack, but Thunderbolt can be used for Waters and others. I was thinking of replacing this with Skarmory, for the 'SkarmBliss' combo.
OK, so there we have it. It's a good team, and it wins most of the time, however there are a few problems:
I started with Ambipom, because I like it and it works effectivly against common leads.
I needed a Special Sweeper to balance it out. Jirachi also acts as a cleric, so I added that in to fill both of these roles.
Added a main physical sweeper, who adds Ice, Rock and Ground coverage.
Decided to add a mixed sweeper. Went with Lucario.
After reading the comments on Mixed Lucario, decided to go with Infernape. Went for a Specially-based set to balance out the sweepers.
Needed a Special Wall as I like teams to be balenced in terms of offence and defence. Added Blissey.
Needed a Physical Wall. Added Weezing after much searching.
So yeah, thanks for reading, and thanks for any help you may be able to give

- Metagross:n/a
- Azelf: n/a
- Jirachi: n/a
- Swampert: Fake Out, Taunt, defeat with Return. Easy.
- Aerodactyl: n/a
- Infernape: n/a
- Hippowdon: n/a
- Bronzong: Fake Out, Taunt, switch to Infernape. Can be a pain with Hypnosis.
- Ninjask: Does anyone even use this? Fake Out and Return finish it eaisly.
- Tyranitar: n/a
- Machamp: Fake Out does a lot, that just leaves me to Return it to death. It can OHKO with DynamocPunch, but if it does, it's usually left with about 4%, so something can clean up after.
- Froslass: A bit of a pain, because Ambipom can't do a thing. Switch to Infernape.

OK, so there we have it. It's a good team, and it wins most of the time, however there are a few problems:
Threats said:Heatran: This thing is hell. Numerous times Scarf Heatran has run all over my team. If Infernape or Mamoswine can't outspeed it, I'm doomed. Blissey can't do anything, with Toxic not affecting Steels, and Ice Beam doing nothing at all.
Stealth Rock: It's not too bad, but it can start to take it's toll later in the game.

I started with Ambipom, because I like it and it works effectivly against common leads.
