SS OU Inspired to do Mono Item By Pokeaim

I had seen Pokeaim do mono items with choice band, focus sash, and both policy items, so I figured why not give it a go? I had teased this idea long before I had seen these videos, with assault vest being the most prominent one to use, but there were a lot of obstacles. How would I inflict status without thunder wave and toxic? How would I set hazards without access to spikes or stealth rocks? Luckily my first answer pokemon handled both of those questions easily, Hatterene. With it's ability magic bounce, any attempt of using status or hazards would be sent flying back at the enemy as if they were my own. With draining kiss for longevity, psyshock for special walls, nuzzle for guaranteed paralysis, and mystical fire for pesky Ferrothorns, I had my first team member set.

After this I realized I needed some form of pivoting, so I took a page right out of VGC and chose Landorus-T. Intimidate is a priceless ability in all forms of pokemon, and if playing in OU for a year has taught me anything Lando is the best for the job. I equipped it with earthquake, smack down for flying type pokemon, knock off for item removal, and U-turn for pivoting.

My next two choices went hand in hand: Excadrill and Tyranitar. Excadrill had something I realized I was crucially lacking: speed. However with sand rush, I had the ability to outspeed scarf base 100 pokemon with just the right EVs. I also equipped it with rapid spin for hazards as well as more speed in a sand storm. Plus, it's an Excadrill nobody is gonna complain about having a pokemon that's able to handle half of the OU tier by itself with just EQ and iron head. As for its friend, Tyranitar gave Excadrill the ability to outspeed with sand rush. I had given it the basic moveset I gave most of my Tyranitars; rock slide, crunch, and EQ, and since I couldn't use dragon dance or stealth rocks, I gave it a coverage option with fire punch. I also found a nice little quirk in that since sand stream was gonna be up, I basically had 2 assualt vests on one pokemon, so that was nice.

With those 4 I just went with options I thought were funny to me. Jirachi was there to hax in ancient power boosts with serene grace. Drain punch would give it health back in a pinch and would pile on after a few serene grace omni boosts. I also gave it the ever annoying iron head to flinch enemies down as well as stored power to benefit even more from the boosts.

Finally, I thought why not meme a bit more and decided to add Wigglytuff from an Emvee video I had rewatched recently. Draining kiss gave it health back as well as a nice stab option. Meanwhile, thunderbolt, ice beam, and fire blast gave massive coverage options. With competitive, I also had a counter to stat lowering and defogs, much like you'd see Bisharp use with defiant.

With that I had made a mono item team. Hopefully it's creative enough to get wins. The poke paste is https://pokepast.es/291f3f8c81a1e7b0
