Installation of impossible Shoddy Battle

Good evening,

I don't manage to install the software of Pokémon combat on line, Shoddy Battle. I have the last version Java to however install (Java (TM) 6 Update 18). I did not have to install Shoddy Battle before. I have to uninstall then to reinstall Java several times, but without success. I launch the file of installation. The Java window launches out then disappears. A few minutes later, a window is posted: Impossible to launch the application.

If you want more information, do not hesitate to ask.

Can you help me please? I need it absolutely ^^

I think of knowing from which the error comes. When the source code of shoddybattle.jnlp is examined, one notices the program connects oneself to the following address: http://shoddybattle.com/client/
However, this page is a dead bond.

Salut, mon ami a eu la meme probleme aujourd'hui. On ne peut pas trouver un resolution. Qu'elle processeur utilisez-vous? Mon ami utiliser Windows 7 puis sa ne fonctionne pas. Au contraire, mon autre ami peut jouer au Shoddy avec Windows 7 et il s'installer aujourd'hui quand meme.

Je m'excuse pour ma francais... I'm English and rarely use my French. haha.

I have Pentium 4 2.66 GHz and I am under Windows XP. I will test under Linux. Still not of solution?

We have not found the problem, but I think it might be because of his firewall at his University. I will let you know when it is all figured out.

Hi, from reading some errors, it looks like the firewall is blocking the client (http://www.shoddybattle.com) you may want to try going to a hotspot and trying there. Linux will not fix this, it is the firewall(s)

Thus if I uninstall my Firewall (KIS 2009), the problem is perhaps solved ?

Edit : Without success. Perhaps the router? To check.

Hey, I have the exact same problem! Thanks to this thread. Finally can fix it now.
EDIT: Ok, well, maybe not yet. I'll just lurk here for a bit until a solution is found.

I've to find a solution:

- Start => Control panel (possibly “Other options of the Control panel”) - To click on the icon Java
- To click on “Parameters network”
- To select “Direct connection”
- Click on OK

Now SB goes !

Thanks dragon, it works now! The only problem is the shortcut icon is messed up, but that's easy to deal with.
EDIT: also, if it makes it easier to understand for other people, "Parameters Network" is "Network Settings" in english.
