I don't know if this has been submitted before but I think that it'd be handy for people who aren't very IRC capable.

An irc applet that is browser based such as CGI:IRC or mibbit that when clicked connects to the #smogon channel on synirc.

Also in the irc help it doesn't say anything about registering your nick (when I checked yesterday).

Well, the IRC tutorial already talks about using synIRC's websites free client browser and Mibbit and it's incredibly easy to join a channel once you are hooked up. This just seems like an unnecessary hassle to set up when its incredibly accessible already.

I'm confused about the registration bit, unless you aren't talking about our IRC tutorial in which case we have no control over that.

Both #smogon and #stark have put up a small security measure to prevent bots from flooding the channel. So, when you try to join these channels, it will not let you join until you have registered a nickname. To register a nickname, type /ns register password e-mail. password is a five letter or more case sensitive password. e-mail is a legitimate e-mail address. This is very important, as an activation key will be sent to you. You will then need to enter that activation key to finish registering.
