[SET COMMENTS]
Air Balloon Iron Treads provides Steel teams with some speed control, outspeeding dangerous threats such as Victini and Landorus always and Zeraora when Electric Terrain is active. Ice Spinner synergizes well with Earthquake, dissuading Gliscor and Latias from coming into Iron Treads's attacks. Knock Off weakens walls such as Rotom-W, Staraptor, and Celesteela that wall Iron Treads. Alternatively, Stone Edge is an option to remove Mega Charizard Y, Volcarona, and Mega Pinsir. Rapid Spin clears entry hazards and gives Iron Treads enough Speed to clean up weakened Electric, Ground, and Dragon teams. Air Balloon lets Iron Treads safely switch into Excadrill and Mamoswine and creates uncomfortable situations for Ground and Bug teams due to its initial immunity to Ground-type moves and Sticky Web. Soft Sand allows Earthquake to 2HKO Mega Sableye after Stealth Rock damage, preventing Mega Sableye from switching in to spinblock Iron Treads. As Iron Treads is relatively weak, stallbreakers like Nasty Plot Gholdengo and Swords Dance Mega Scizor are excellent for weakening or removing walls; Gholdengo beats Archaludon and Mega Sableye and Mega Scizor deals with Ferrothorn and Slowbro. Mega Scizor also provides great neutralities that allow it to switch into Fighting- and Ground-types like Mega Lopunny and Clodsire with ease, while Gholdengo handles Body Press users like Skarmory and Fighting-types like Sneasler. Choice Scarf teammates such as Gholdengo, Heatran, and Archaludon supplement Iron Treads's speed control, as they outspeed and pick off Mega Gallade, Iron Valiant, and Mega Lopunny, which threaten to OHKO Iron Treads. Heatran also provides a Fire immunity and hazards or Toxic to further chip down opposing teams. Physically defensive Archaludon and Ferrothorn are great for dealing with Ogerpon-W, which can use Iron Treads as setup fodder, and support Iron Treads through debilitating foes with Thunder Wave and setting hazards. Celesteela and Skarmory are Ground-immune teammates that can switch into Mega Diancie or Choice Band Excadrill to avoid Iron Treads's Air Balloon from breaking prematurely; Celesteela is also a decent mixed wall that smothers Dragon and Fairy teams, while Skarmory has access to hazards and Whirlwind to further weaken opposing teams for Iron Treads.
