This team is primarily offensively focused and has worked out well for me in the past, but seems rather unstable. And I would greatly appreciate any recommendations. thank you.
Aggron (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Rock Head
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/4 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Head Smash
- Stealth Rock
- Thunder Wave
- Iron Head
Aggron will always try to start off with stealth rocks to provide the SR support my team would like to preform better. I can also use Aggron to try to paralyze the opponent with thunder wave this makes setting up my other Pokemon easier. Finally he hits hard with Head Smash or Iron Head. Focus sash was chosen because it allows me to at least get in stealth rock without being KO'd.
Gengar (M) @ Expert Belt
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
- Thunderbolt
- Explosion
Gengar is the special sweeper on my team. I chose him because of his exceptional move pool, high special attack and high speed. The Expert Belt is to provide the required boosts to Gengars moves while still allowing him to use his moves freely. Focus blast is primarily for coverage. And thunderbolt is to take out Bulky water types and flying types. I opted for thunder bolt over thunder for the increase in accuracy. Shadow Ball provides a strong STAB for taking out non resistant Pokemon in a few hits. Explosion is to stop potential walling by Blissy or other special walls.
Rhyperior (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Solid Rock
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Megahorn
- Earthquake
- Rock Polish
- Stone Edge
Rhyperior is the late game sweeper on my team. Life Orb was chosen to boost the power of Rhyperior's moves to a very high level. to start off I try to get at least one rock polish, allowing him to out speed many OU Pokemon. The other attacks that Rhyperior has at his arsenal provide excellent coverage. Megahorn is for Grass types that would pose a risk to him, and both Earthquake and Stone Edge are for powerful Stabs . Having access to both earthquake and megahorn means that he can deal with both celibi and Hetran two common threats. This set has proved invaluable on my team in the past. After setting up with a Rock Polish I can usually get at least 2 K.Os with him.
Jolteon (M) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Signal Beam
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [grass]
Because of Jolteon's high speed and high special attack he is the perfect candidate for a choice specs. This makes Jolteon the revenge killer of my team. Thunderbolt is the primary attack of this set. While Signal Beam is for Tyranitar and other grass and dark types. Shadow ball is for ghost and psychic types and hidden power grass is for the ground types that pose a threat to Jolteon.
Salamence (M) @ Lum Berry
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Outrage
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast
I decided to use Salamance because of his unpredictability. Due to the many sets available and the large move pool, it is always hard to predict what kind it is. I went with the above move set to deal with many common pokes. Fire blast is chosen to eliminate Roserade, Celibi. Earthquake is used to deal with, Infernape, Jarachi, Metagross and other steel types. And finally Outrage is a primary stab attack I use on Pokemon that resist the other moves and on other dragon types that may switch in. Dragon Dance is for boosting Salamence's attack and speed letting him sweep more effectively. The item a Lum berry was chosen to give Salamence immunity to status inducing attacks by the opponent and to cancel out Outrages side Effect of confusion. The Ev spread is simply to maximize the attack and speed allowing Salamence to outpace other leads and most of the opponents other Pokemon.
Blastoise (M) @ Lum Berry
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Hydro Pump
- Fake Out
- Ice Beam
- Rapid Spin
Blastoise is the rapid spinner of my team. I decided on Blastoice over other more common spinners because he is less suspected of being a rapid spinner and this gives me a slight advantage. Hydro Pump is the main STAB attack. I chose it over surf because without it I would have trouble trying to KO rotom and other spin blockers. And Fake Out is to scout for a switch and cancel out the effects of focus sashes. Ice beam is to deal with dragon and flying types such as Salamence and Skarmory that if they were to survive my lead or if it faints give me trouble otherwise. And Blastoise's lum berry is to cancel out toxic Spikes or other status ailments.
This concludes my RMT thank you.
