Is Arceus weak to atheist pokemon?

All tiers I do not play do not exist.

I do not play OU, UU, RU, NU, PU, ZU, DOU, Draft, any Other Metagames, any Unofficial Metagames, any Pet Mods, CAP, or any Nintendo-sponsored formats.

Therefore, none of these tiers exist.

However, I do play all generations of LC and, for worse or worse, Ubers.

Therefore, these tiers exist.

If only these tiers exist, then only Pokemon that are in those tiers, or usable in those tiers, exist.

All formes of Arceus are usable in Generations 5, 6, 7, and 9 Ubers.

Therefore, other Pokemon in Ubers encounter Arceus.

Therefore, Arceus exists.

Knowing that Arceus exists, do you think it would also be able to bestow LC it's presence? Not being able to hold evio would surely hinder it in a fighting type heavy metagame

Well, let's think through the implications. If Arceus is weak against things that don't believe in it, that suggests that it draws its power from belief rather than having it inherently. If that's the case, it seems to naturally follow that nobody believing in Arceus would cause it to either cease to exist or be so weak that anything could handle it in battle. Arceus is never mentioned by name in the original Sinnoh games, and only scant allusions to its existence can be found throughout; even Cynthia, a dedicated student of the region's mythology, doesn't seem to know much of anything about it. Therefore, if we accept that Arceus draws its power from belief, it should follow that Arceus is extremely weak due to the widespread lack of awareness about it among the people of Sinnoh and beyond. However, this is demonstrably not the case, as the Arceus that can be encountered in-game by hacking in the event item is one of the most powerful wild Pokémon in the game. I can think of a few ways to resolve this contradiction:
  1. Arceus does not, in fact, draw its power from belief, and not believing in it does not weaken it at all.
  2. Every Pokémon has an innate knowledge of its existence, rendering human belief/awareness unnecessary for it to be very powerful.
  3. Arceus is so enormously powerful that even a very small number of believers is enough to make it much stronger than most other Pokémon.
Would be interested to read other people's thoughts on this.
