A little about me:
I am gonna start by saying I am not a good team builder I just like to play for fun not necessarily for rank but I seem to have won a few games with this team and would like to share it and maybe ask for some pointers in team building if the team is even remotely usable also I was planning on maybe start on adapting from Ultra Sun and Moon since the changes were too drastic for me. I mainly play OU since Ubers is not fun to play in my opinion.

The team in question:
It consist of Kommo-o, Gengar, Grimmsnarl, Excadrill, Corviknight and Hippowdon/Tyranitar

Kommo-o nothing more than meme set but it can be setup against Basic Stall Mons that want to inflict status leech seeds basically a punishment for trying to so. The strategy is easy substitute drops you to 75% health then Belly Drum causes you to drop to 50% health causing Kommo-o to eat the berry leaving you at +6 Atk and +1 Speed which will outspeed Dragapult and basically KO most Fairy, Rock, Ice, Steel and Normal Pokemon. It survives Rillabooms wrath if Corviknight is KOd and usually gets atleast 1 KO. It will 100% of the time be 1 hit KO by a Fairy type move but Max Sp. Def allows it to live a psychic from Hatterene which in OU is the Highest Sp. Atk Stat I believe I think with life orb with the second being Alakazam although it almost never run Life Orb.

Kommo-o @ Salac Berry
Ability: Overcoat
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Drain Punch
- Iron Head
- Belly Drum
- Substitute

Gengar is next and he was a kinda strategic pic to counter fairy types, ghost types, psychic types, toxic and seismic toss. I like Gengar here in OU because its pretty strong and blocks a lot of things that Kommo-o can't deal with and can shut down volcarona with haze or trick choice not only that but Dragapult is KO by Gengar.

Gengar @ Choice Scarf / Focus Sash
Ability: Cursed Body
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Shadow Ball / Hex
- Sludge Wave
- Trick / Will o wisp
- Haze

Grimmsnarl- I used it mainly to drop the speed (Using Thunder Wave) of Pokemon and give me a chance at setting up my Kommo-o other uses for Grimmsnarl were to take down physical attacking Pokemon who previously were setting up with Foul Play along with maybe set up some Screens to protect my Kommo-o. With the fairy type comes an immunity to dragon which Kommo-o is weak to so having a fairy type to block any incoming dragon attack is pretty useful along with his dark type making him also immune to psychic which Kommo-o is also weak against.

Grimmsnarl (M) @ Light Clay
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 152 Def / 104 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Thunder Wave
- Foul Play

Excadrill- I wanted a stealth rocker who could do some damage and who more than the well known Excadrill with his steel type he takes down fairy and ice Pokemon and his ground type makes him immune to electric type moves which my Corviknight is weak to. I also wanted a Pokemon with rapid spin so that in a stealth rock lead if that Pokemon has a sash I can remove the Pokemon and the stealth rocks he set on my side of the field along with next turn being able to set mine up with the speed boost obtained from the rapid spin and as bonus this Pokemon has Mold Breaker ignoring any ability like sturdy, magic bounce, levitate that might risk a failed move.

Excadrill @ Focus Sash
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Rapid Spin
- Stealth Rock

Corviknight- Honestly I dislike Corviknight its way too strong but there is no reason to not use it because of that. It counters Rillaboom which is all I need but its a great Body Press Pokemon I like using Bulk Up over Iron Defense since Bulk Up allows my second stab brave bird to actually do damage or if I wish I substitute it with Power trick which if I reach +6 Atk and +6 Def it becomes a 140 Base power move and in SW and SH I can Dynamax and not use Body Press and instead use Brave Bird and Power Trip with three Max Airstreams Power Trip becomes a woping 200 Base power move which is cool in my opinion. I've thought of replacing Corviknight with Mandibuzz but I don't know what set to put on it if I even do so I've stayed with Corviknight so far.

Corviknight @ Leftovers
Ability: Mirror Armor
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Bulk Up
- Roost
- Body Press
- Brave Bird / Power Trip

Tyranitar or Hippowdon- The Tyranitar I use to it to block psychic types if my Grimmsnarl is KO Its also a hidden sweeper with Dragon Dance though its weak to Rillaboom which in my opinion hurts it a lot in my opinion but there is no other reliable sand setter than it and Hippowdon and Gigalith maybe. I wanted to put Stealth Rocks on Tyranitar but ended up just putting Dragon Dance on it instead which worked but it made my team weak to fighting and so I tried Hippowdon and it worked fine but I still debating on which one should I use.

Tyranitar @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Rock Slide
- Crunch
- Thunder Punch
- Dragon Dance

-Or-

Hippowdon @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Toxic
- Earthquake
- Slack Off
- Roar

If you have any suggestions or if you think this strategy is just a gimmick please let me know I wanna know if I can get this Kommo-o to high/mid ladder or even win fights in Pokemon SW and SH. I don't wanna go on with my opinion since there is always some good matches that make you think your team is incredible specially in low ladder so I wish to know if there is any hope for this team.

Edit:
I want to give credit to Sacred Sky (Youtuber) this is where I saw that Kommo-o learned Belly Drum and inspired me to attempt to adapt it to the OU Meta so for more cool sets and Showdown Salt check him out.

Well, :kommo-o: bdrum is not viable, because this is not a meta for dragons sweeper, but it has some good sets. You have put in your team the core :hippowdon: + :corviknight: + :excadrill: , an optimal sand core. Your :excadrill: , with sand rush will give you a better speed control, that outspeed all the meta non-scarf and some scarf mons under sand (without sand you have rapid spin for speed boost, too) and with sword dance can do big damage versus a lot of matchup.
For :corviknight: just use pressure, it give you a better matchup versus stall. Your set is just good, don't worry.
:Kommo-o: can be your lead, that can set up steath rock and body press+iron defense is just good, lol.
For :gengar: just use its standard set, substite+nasty plot, is just better.
In this new team :grimmsnarl: doesn't have any sense, but now you have a terrible match up versus rain, so you needa grass type that can outspeed :kingdra: under rain... there is only one grass that can do this: :rillaboom: . The best set is band :rillaboom: , no word to describe its incredible power.
Sorry if I change a lot of your team, but now it is very strong.
Here the is the pokepast, have a good ladder!

P.S (not pokemon showdown but post scriptum LMAO)
English is not my mother language, so tell me if there are grammatical errors.

Have a nice day!

I can't say its completely not worth a shot because the set has caught me off guard once or twice. But Caionamax did a great analysis and yea, Imma just say it is not exactly the most viable and you definitely should stick the OU band Rillaboom set on your team. Its power is very strong and it is a way to break through opposing Hippowdons that can easily whirlwind your Kommo-o out after getting up rocks. I also agree you should focus more on the sand aspect of the team instead of mons like Grimmsnarl and add some tanks because nothing on your team can really risk scald/hydro pump from rain teams or just anything from a growthed Venusaur in the sun. Teleport Blissey maybe?

Caionamax and ShaoZedong Thank you both! I knew that that my team was missing a grass type but I never knew what to replace as I said before to me all of my Pokemon were important for the team in my mind I thought Tyranitar or Hippowdon could deal with the rain but from further analysis
you are right id have no chance of beating a rain team. I would also like to ask you both if Hippowdon is better then Tyranitar? since both have similar jobs if any of you two could tell me. Thanks in advance.

Heyo
So both have their roles and the stat difference is that Tyranitar is more of your special tank while Hippo is defense. You probably can run Tyranitar for 4x fighting weakness in the lower ladder if you keep Corviknight and gengar alive but it is risking a dark type move most fighting types carry and can predict so You're gonna have to make some plays my man. Personally, as much as I love the weakness policy t-tar set, Hippo has recovery and thats what sets it apart as the most reliable in battle. Hope this helps :>
