Rejected - Inactive Items in custom battles

I was thinking it might be fun if there was an option in custom battles that allowed each player to have a certain amount of money and buy any items they can with it.
 
Can't you just agree with the other player to only use the items you'd be able to buy? This feels outside the scope of PS's simulation.
yeah that probably would be I was just looking for a way to use potions and revives while fighting my friends.
 
Soooooo I see this is a dead thread but im debating on brushing up my jave skills....... im wanting to use showdown for random encounter battles for my tabletop. (custom region using play by post grid crawl and dungeons for gyms) does anyone think it would be possible to build a shell for the idea? im just now starting to cruch through the code myself and happened to notice this "Pending" post

I'm not sure what 'jave skills' are; if you mean the Java programming language, that won't help you with modifying PS (which is written in TypeScript, a derivative of JavaScript). Also, this is a (effectively rejected) suggestion about purchasing items, not about using PS as part of your game (unless you want your game players to be able to buy items on a per-battle basis?). Starting your own thread in the Pokémon Showdown forum would be more likely to get you help, though I'd advise you to wait until you know what you need help with.
