its been a while, OU RMT

Hey guys. Its been a while since I've really made and played a team. So I tossed this bad boy together a few days ago, and have been fiddling with it on Shoddy Battle. I've actually found that despite not having a normal resist, I seem to be performing quite well, though occasionally I get totally dismantled if I make some bad calls. Anyway, the REAL reason I started this team, was because after looking through a list of common leads, my favorite pokemon Sharpedo seemed like he would perform adequately in that role.

Deathwind (Sharpedo) (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk,-SpAtk)
- Aqua Jet
- Crunch
- Taunt
- Waterfall
---

This is the set I've been using, and it works great. Taunt blocks entry hazards, crunch + waterfall do a number on many popular leads. And aqua jet is for finishing things off. Hes not so hot at dealing with Breloom, but I have other pokemon for that...

Gay Rage (Gyarados) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 156 HP/72 Atk/96 Def/184 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk,-SpAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Return
- Taunt
- Waterfall
---

I've noticed that Gyarados is the heart and sole of this team. I went with the bulky one, because I need him to switch into a lot of shit, as he is something of my physical tank. About half of my games end in a Gyarados sweep. I went with return for the type coverage and strong base power.

The Mexican (Breloom) (F) @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 12 HP/252 Atk/244 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk,-SpAtk)
- Focus Punch
- Spore
- Stone Edge
- Substitute
---

Its surprisingly difficult to get him in and sleep something, but Breloom is an awesome poke when he works. Stone Edge really gives the finger to flying types like Gyarados who think they can come in after I sleep something.

Zoom Zoom (Electivire) (M) @ Expert Belt
Ability: Motor Drive
EVs: 40 Atk/216 Spd/252 SpAtk
Modest nature (+SpAtk,-Atk)
- Cross Chop
- Flamethrower
- Hidden Power (Ghost)
- Thunderbolt
---

I took him to absorb the inevitable electric attacks headed for Gyarados. After some playing with hidden power ice, and then hidden power grass, I eventually switched it out for Ghost, due to the commonness of Rotom varients.

Logar (Kingdra) (M) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Sniper
EVs: 32 HP/224 Spd/252 SpAtk
Modest nature (+SpAtk,-Atk)
- Draco Meteor
- Hidden Power (electric)
- Hydro Pump
- Surf
---

Kingdra smashes things. I'm not sure about hidden power electric, it was originally for Empoleon, however I think I may be better served with Dragon Pulse. Although i may switch surf for pulse as well.

Lashey (Swellow) (F) @ Flame Orb
Ability: Guts
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd,-SpAtk)
- Brave Bird
- Facade
- Pursuit
- Sleep Talk
---

I was originally running Weavile, but I decided Swellow would work better as a status absorber. Sleep talk is for switching in something like Breloom. I'm not too sold on this poke however. I have somewhat of a problem with stealth rock.

I've been doing pretty well online with this list, but I'm concerned its more of all the time I've spent playing the game in Advanced, something of my usual syndrome of making bad lists and making up for it with prediction.

just a question, but why sharpedo lead? what is is that makes him better than any other lead, say Weaville? it can run almost the same set, but more OU oriented. He is frail, has a STAB priority move, taunt, has 30 more base speed, secondary dark type, and high attack.
If you want to use (basically) the sharpedo set on Weavile, try this.
Weavile @Focus Sash
4 HP/252 ATK/252 SPE Adamant
-Ice Shard
-Night Slash
-Ice Punch/Waterfall
-Taunt

OR you could use the Smogon attacking lead set...

Weavile @Focus Sash
4 HP/252 ATK/252 SPE Hasty
-Fake Out
-Taunt
-Counter
-Night Slash/Ice Punch

And why Swellow? there are so many better Guts users. like...

Ursaring
Machamp
Heracross
Hariyama

all of these receive Facade, Sleep Talk as well, and are neutral or resistant to stealth rock.

I've replaced swellow, with Sleep Talk Rhyperior.

Still gives me something to absorb sleep, and some awesome physical defenses that were much needed

Smasher (Rhyperior) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Solid Rock
EVs: 132 HP/252 Atk/124 Def
Adamant nature (+Atk,-SpAtk)
- Earthquake
- Rest
- Rock Blast
- Sleep Talk
---

I've noticed I have a bit of a problem with Shaymin. But I have no idea what to do about it...

I would reccomend a scarf Heracross. He absorbs status, has bug STAB for shaymin, and is just awesome. you could also use him with facade or rest-talk.

Heracross @Choice Scarf
Guts
4 HP/252 ATK/252 SPE Jolly/Adamant
-Close Combat
-Megahorn
-Stone Edge
-Facade/Sleep Talk/Night Slash

Another option could be Machamp.

Machamp @Choice Band
Guts
4 SPE/252 ATK/252 HP Adamant
-Close Combat
-Payback
-Ice Punch
-Thunderpunch/Bullet Punch

Same as Cross, but without bug STAB. It still has Ice Punch for Shay.

Swellow wouldn't be a great status absorber. If it gets in on Thunder Wave, it's permanently screwed. Pursuit is a novelty, as Scarf Rotoms will outrun and KO you with anything but Shadow Ball. Brave Bird is a must, since you won't be KOing many Ghosts with Pursuit (Gengar takes 38.2-45% pitiful damage when it stays, and can easily KO you back). Protect is very useful in making sure your status activates, and Quick Attack does no good against common checks in OU (Lucario, Dragonite, Scizor), so you're better off with Protect.

Weavile is definitely a better anti-lead than Sharpedo. Or you can use:
Gengar @ Focus Sash
Hasty Nature 4 HP/ 252 SpA/ 252 Spe
-Shadow Ball
-Focus Blast
-Counter
-Icy Wind
It beats every lead except Weavile, Colbur Azelf, and Swampert without fail. If you leave your focus sash intact, you can even kill their revenger with Counter.

To be honest, Swellow and Heracross are the only viable Facade users outside of Trick Room. But Heracross has too many counters (not that Swellow is lacking in that department).

Modest nature on Electivire with Attack EVs is a waste. Mild is a better nature since you still get 2HKO from Scizor's CB Bullet Punch anyways. Also, Jolteon is a better Electric absorber for Gyarados. It is much faster and hits much harder on everything not named Blissey, Snorlax, or Tyranitar, who are easily killed by Gyarados. Here's a Jolteon set:
Jolteon @ Leftovers
Timid nature 4 HP/ 252 SpA/ 252 Spe
-Substitute
-Thunderbolt
-HP Grass/Ice
-Shadow Ball
It works much better than Electivire, often let down by low Special Attack, and low base powers on physical moves. If it had Fighting type as secondary type or had its Special Attack/Attack switched, it's be a middle-OU at least. Jolteon basically outclasses Electivire in almost every department, and has better synergy with Gyarados.

Hope that helped.
