JadeX' OU team

Been using this team for 6v6 Singles battle since the early beginning, have been doing surprising pretty well I say. Peaked at 1810. Not bad right? (:

Well, I'm a 'Stealth Rock' guy. At that point of time, the only good available Stealth rockers were Tyranitar, Ferrothorn, Forretress and Mamoswine. Before this generation, i've always been using an anti-lead Infernape (Oh, I do miss using it still). Compared to Infernape, these few choices are rather slow stealth rockers which I'm not really used in using them. Mamoswine was my initial choice as the Stealth Rocker due to its high speed (in fact he WAS the fastest Stealth Rocker back then) but I decided to go for Ferrothorn in the end due to its bulkness? and positive reviews in Gen 5. (I have never tried Ferrothorn before, fought him before in rain team couple of time and had not much problem getting rid of it) Tyranitar was a tempting choice, but nah... I'm just not a sandstorm fan. Besides, i've got this feeling that my team's going to be too frail to survive the sandstorm. My team had always been lacking on defense. Forretress was tempting too due to Volt Switch and Sturdy but Ferrothorn won in the sense that it has Thunder Wave! And it's more offensive and stable in terms of sustainability I think (Leech Seed) So here goes, my very first pokemon on my team.

Stealth Rock
Thunder Wave
Leech Seed
Knock Off

Pretty standard moveset.
Ferrothorn plays a far more important role that I initially thought it would esp with Knock off. It also tanks Hydro Pump well, and many things took at least 2 hits to KO it. It force switches with Leech Seed, Slows down the opponent with Thunderwave for the team mates to sweep better. One thing this little dude fears the most would be taking a x4 Fire weakness attack. Yea, this is probably the only thing that could end its life straight.

To overcome the x4 Fire weakness, I decided to get a water type pokemon. Best if it could tank Scizor's Bullet Punch, Talonflame's Brave Bird and Greninja's attack. These 3 were really common those days. That's when I decided to try use Rotom-W.

Volt Switch
Wil'o'Wisp
Hydro Pump
Trick

Yup, decided to go with a Scarf set. Pain Split was unavailable so that's part of the reason why I decided not to run a bulky Rotom since Rotom itself is already bulky. Volt Switch was its main attack. Hydro Pump is there for STAB if I want to put a dent to the enemy. With Scarf, Rotom could effectively check Greninja, Garchomp as well as bringing momentum to my team. (Usually they would expect Rotom-W to be slow running the Standard set) Trick is there to block bulky pokemon. Ya, my team can never win against a stall defensive team.
Wil'O'Wisp is there too. It works quite well after I managed to lay a trick.

Now, since I have my scarf, it's time to look for a Choice Band Pokemon. The requirement for my Choice Band pokemon, they have to be fast. Scizor was the immediate candidate that came into my mind at that point of time. Tried using Scizor for a few battles and I realised that Scizor and Ferrothorn made my team especially weak against Fire Blast(which is quite common). Scizor's just not as threatening as before. This is when I decided to use Talonflame as its brave bird priority is much much more scarier than Scizor's Bullet Punch.

Brave Bird
Steel Wing
U-Turn
Flare Blitz

Yea, I felt that Choice band really brings out the potential of this bird. It's attack base stats isn't threatening but with choice band, its really a force reckoned to be. Don't really use it much but it does come handy at times (: EV back then was to outspeed Kangaskhan, survive 2 Stealth Rock and bring out its Max attack stats. Talonflame is usually my late game sweeper after my Garchomp and Mega Medicham wears down the team.

After finding my Scarf-Band Pokemon, it's time to look for a Ground Pokemon that resist Thunder wave. I always felt that Ground and Flying types were one of the better types as Earthquake and Thunderwave, bolt and volt switch were pretty common. This is when I decided to use Garchomp, the rest of the ground pokemon were just too slow.

Lum Berry

Sword Dance
Fire Blast
Dragon Claw
Earthquake

Really wanted to use a Mega Garchomp for my team as Garchomp's my favourite pokemon. I'm just not happy with the speed drop in Mega Garchomp. I mean, after a turn almost everyone outspeeds you and OHKO you. True? Lum Berry was there for Outrage use initially til recently I've been using Garchomp to absorb wil'o'wisp from Rotom and check back it. Fire Blast was there in place of Fire Fang for extra damage. Yea, Togekiss totally walled this set I know.

This is Pokemon X/Y! Of course we have to try out the Mega Pokemon. Mega Gengar and Mega Kangaskhan was my first two initial Mega Pokemon til it got banned. It then followed by Mega Lucario who did a very very good job. So good that I got this feeling that sooner or later, it'll get banned too just like Mega Gengar and Kangaskhan. This is when I decided to try some other Megas for fun. I tried Mega Mawhile which is really awesome. Mega Manetric too teaming up with Scarf Landorus-T for double intimidate. It was definitely fun using Mega Manetric til I realised it's stats were very high actually. It's overheat doesn't really do as much damage as I thought it would so might as well run a Jolteon (who have pretty much similar stats and movepool) and run another Mega. Been switching back to and from with Mega Mawhile and Lucario. Fighting is definitely a very offensive. Plus, I already had a Ferrothorn who's afraid of Fire. So trying to avoid steel type here. This is when Medicham comes into my mind (yea i know it looks kinda funny). It's moderately fast, have fighting move and best of all Pure Power (in short a mixture of Mega lucario and mawhile)

Fake Out
Psycho Cut
Hi Jump Kick
Fire Punch

I know, alot of people would recommend me to take Fake out away and use a Jolly nature one instead.
I never dare gamble Medicham's speed with other base 100 speed pokemon as Medicham's too frail to play. Might as well use it for some extra power since Medicham's my wall breaker. Fake Out is there to help me evolves safely into Mega form and brings my speed up. Normal medicham is just too slow, probably got swept before it even gets to throw a bomb. Of course, I usually go for Hi Jump Kick if facing a slower pokemon that doesnt carries protect/detect or ghost in party. Fire Punch is a safer option against Ferrothorn, Aegislash etc. (Usually its the steel that walls this set) Psycho Cut takes care of the Condekurll. Been alot of these muscle dude running around lately with assault vest. Decided to drop bullet punch for fire punch due to coverage. Also, it doesnt have stab so fake out usually do the revenge instead when i switch medicham in. 4 Def so that i could survive 2 Hi Jump Kick misses.

Last of all, I need a special sweeper. Mega Alakazam and Mega Manetric was my initial choice but i realised i ended up running too many special sweeper to support them in team. 2 is just nice for me. Starmie was my last generation's special sweeper. This generation, we had something faster and stronger...

GRENINJA

Timid / Protean
31/30/30/31/31/30
252 atk, 4 HP, 252 speed
Life orb

Hidden Power Fire
Ice Beam
Grass Knot
Hydro Pump

Basically, I'm using my Starmie's moveset (Hydro Pump, Hp Fire, Thuderbolt, Ice Beam) with Grass Knot replacing Thunderbolt. Somehow, grass knot did prove more useful than I thought it would hitting Swampert, Quagsire which my team always had an issue with during the last generation. Life Orb is there just for extra power. Used to run it with Lum berry but realised it needs more extra power for hydro pump and since i already have lum berry on garchomp. ( you know, people playing pokemon on 3ds doesnt like repeated items nor legendary pokemon so im trying to avoid them ) This pokemon is my jack-of-all trade hitting with Stabs that hits almost all kind of pokemon. Of course, hydro pump is still this guy's main attack.

so that's roughly my team. Do help rate and give comment on how to improve this team.
will updated thread again on how i handles thread.
