Hi all! Below I have a team that has found quite a lot of success so far. I'm satisfied with most of it, however, there are things that need tweaking, especially that one entire Pokemon is redundant! Also, feel free to comment with alternate suggestions, they are much appreciated.
Duke Ellington (Venusaur) (F) @ Venusaurite
Ability: Chlorophyll
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 SAtk / 128 Def / 124 SDef / 252 HP
Bold Nature
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Knock Off
This is my team staple, the ever-powerful Mega Venusaur. I just allow it to sit there and annoy away. Knock-off, while unusual, seems to have served me extremely well in games. The EV spread is a mixed spread because the rest of my team manages to account for other defenses very well. I'm not sure if HP Fire is necessary, but it has its uses against pesky Lucarios, amongst other mons.
Charles Mingus (Tyranitar) (F) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Sand Stream
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 84 Atk / 248 HP / 176 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Crunch
- Brick Break
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
Aah yes, Assault Vest TTar. He's a monster under the sand, and stops virtually everything bar a Close Combat. Brick Break is an unusual choice yes, but I've found screens to simply be too annoying for me to want to deal with. Brick Break also allows me to see to it that Chansey/Blissey are killed on teh spot.
Bill Evans (Rotom-Wash) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Modest Nature
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Trick
This is the Pokemon that I'm not sure about. I've tried SubCM Sylveon, SubCM Keldeo, Thundurus, and several Aegislash sets, but compared to the rest of the team, this mon becomes dead weight. I need suggestions here!
Dizzy Gillespie (Talonflame) (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Gale Wings
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Adamant Nature
- Brave Bird
- Roost
- Flare Blitz
- U-turn
Talonflame was originally here to cover Venusaur's weak spots; I had Mega Pinsir in mind when I added him, as well as other Mega Venusaurs. However, I found that Talonflame generally gets a lot of OHKOs just by firing off a Brave Bird, so it has evolved into a sort of powerhouse on my team. I generally rely on him to sweep up weakened mons.
Charlie Parker (Greninja) (F) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Protean
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 Atk
Hasty Nature
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- U-turn
- Dark Pulse
Utility, utility, utility! I don't know where I would be without Greninja. Very few things seem to be able to take a hit from him, so I hit away. Focus Sash ensures that I almost always get a KO off Ninja. U-turn is there for scouting, although I find myself not using it too much.
Benny Goodman (Latias) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Defog
- Roost
- Roar
- Psyshock
Rocks were getting too annoying to deal with, so I opted to get a defogger, and Latias seemed like the logical choice for my team. I have Roar there as a phasing mechanism, although I'm down to switch that move to something else as well. Psyshock has a lot of general utility, so I keep that.
