Jaws: The Menace of the Deep

jaws-18-6-10-kc.jpg

Because being one of my favorite and most hardcore looking pokes to date, this guy is a scary force. Untouchably fast and crazy powerful under the rain, he's weak to nothing but priority and a few walls. This is, The Menace of the Deep
Sharpedo

Obviously not the lead, but the star of this team is Sharpedo. Seeing what thing could do I wanted to build a team around this thing. After a protect, this things speed goes up to about 433, outspeeding almost everything. Under the rain, a waterfall can kill a ton of things that hit it neutral, a crunch to deal with those pesky psychic types that are becoming more ever present, and ice fang for just about everything. This set has a lot of trouble with Chansey considering it is at the most a 3HKO and a single Seismic Toss CAN take it out. Along with a boosted Scizor bullet bunch will kill in an instant.

Literally here to set up the rain, Politoed is very important, but rather expendable. I chose a defensive set because sand is becoming more ever present, and this boy needs to be able to switch in and out. I was running toxic on this, but replaced it with Focus Blast because testing this team I constantly found myself wishing I had another fighting type move.

Just an insanely fantastic powerhouse, Tornadus-T fits well in this team. As my name suggests, I love hurricane, and TT maybe be the best user of it. He is super fast and hits haaaard. U-turn is a solid move on any poke. Focus Blast is good for my much needed fighting coverage. HP Ground is also a must have for my much needed coverage.

It's Genesect. Need I say more?

A nice little wall, giving me fire and grass coverage, and able to get some cute little hax, I thought Celebi would be a nice addition to the team. Now, this combined with my next wall (Bronzong) Give me a glaring weakness to fire, which is a bit scary, and something I'm hoping to get help with.

Stealth Rocks, Toxic, Earth coverage, the whole nine yards. If only he wasn't a steel type haha. An amazing wall by itself, and can be very formidable when up against others. But it is a serious liability to have because it sometimes is rendered completely useless.

Literally any sun team or any heavy hitting fire types crush this team, which is why I need help. I'm just reserving a post that I will later go into more depth in.

This set has a lot of trouble with Chansey considering it is at the most a 3HKO and a single Seismic Toss will take it out. Along with that literally any bullet bunch will kill in an instant.

I'm so confused... Sharpedo has more than 100 HP to withstand Seismic Toss and resists Bullet Punch...
By the way, there a dozens of Pokemon with Stealth Rocks, Toxic and Ground Type coverage if you just look. Donphan is a noteworthy example, although I would use Rapid Spin rather than Toxic.

Hey!

You've got a good team here. Sharpedo is pretty underrated. It's surprising how easy it is to sweep Rain teams once Ferrothorn is out of the way. In my opinion, Bronzong and Celebi are bringing down the overall pace of your team. Offensive Rain doesn't have time to waste, and Bronzong is essentially set up bait. Although Celebi has Thunder Wave, its attacks are too weak for it to have a lasting impact on the match.

My first suggestion is to switch Celebi to LO Latios with HP Fighting / Dragon Pulse or Meteor / Surf / Recover. Latios is a very powerful threat, and it also lures in Ferrothorn. HP Fighting should do a lot of damage, so you can pave the way for a late game Sharpedo sweep. Aside from supporting Sharpedo, Latios is an all-around great Rain abuser. Powerful, quick, and able to Recover make it a long lasting mid game threat. Water resistance is a pretty big perk too since it keeps Celebi's defensive type coverage. Your team is way better with Latios than with Celebi.

My second suggestion is for you to change Bronzong to Specially Defensive Jirachi. Use Stealth Rock / Wish / Thunder / Iron Head. You definitely need some sort of Steel Pokemon to combat Tornadus-t. It's probably the biggest threat to Rain teams ironically. Jirachi is very similar to Bronzong in typing, so it won't be a huge change. I think Jirachi just supports your team much more efficiently. Pass wishes to keep Politoed alive and win the weather war. Counter Special Attackers and ease predictions vs. Dragons. Really a great all in one Pokemon.

Third, a minor nit pick, but make sure you get U-turn on Genesect. U-turn is arguably the most important move on Genesect because it allows you to keep offensive momentum. I'd recommend dropping Flamethrower since you're playing a Rain team and Flamethrower will be weakened.

Finally, another minor nit pick: use Taunt on Tornadus-t. Deoxys-d teams are literally everywhere, and you have no way to stop them from getting up several layers. Taunt will be invaluable in these matches because Deoxys-d cannot gain the immediate upper hand.

Good luck!
