Ey, today I'm going to be showcasing one of my favorite XY Ubers teams. Since Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are around the corner one last XY Ubers RMT was mandatory. Anyways, you might have seen this team in Grand Slam where Joey used it vs Lowgock, mhm this is the one. Anyways a few weeks ago I wanted to make a team based around a Rayquaza-Arceus-Electric core since I thought it would make a sick combination. While their offensive synergy may not be as clear as water, they still work pretty well together. Back then, I gave the team to a few people that asked me for it on Pokemon Showdown, some of them said the team did pretty well on the ladder and that made me a bit happy and then when Joey destroyed Lowgock in Ubers even after getting haxed I said to myself: "Yeah now I KINDA have to RMT the team". Anyways since it's the last XY Ubers RMT I'll add the teambuilding process, although it's pretty straightforward lol.

Teambuilding process:

First, you obviously need something to base the team around, in this case is the Offensive core of Rayquaza-Arceus-Electric. From that point I kinda already knew what the team needed so yeah...

483.png

We can't remove Arceus-Electric or Rayquaza from the team so they won't be seen until the end (they're there in spirit tho). I chose Dialga to be my main Kyogre check and Stealth Rock setter. Dialga is a very good mon since it can switch into a great amount of stuff and not be OHKOd or 2HKOd. Dialga is also a very nice Defensive pivot which can switch into Palkia, Zekrom (Bolt Strike / Volt Switch) and some Calm Mind Arceus formes reliably.

483.png

Xerneas was the next pokemon on my mind, a Fairy is mandatory in almost every single team as it can help force out a lot of things. Anyways, Xerneas does a lot more than that, Xerneas is a terrific wallbreaker as when getting the Geomancy boost it is hardly stopped. It also stops Zekrom from using Outrage mindlessly and punishing it if it does end up doing so.

483.png
716.png

With Stealth Rock and a suitable Fairy already covered it was time to focus on other threats like Extremekiller, Mega Kangaskhan, Blaziken while I also needed something that could switch into Ground-types as well as having some hazard control on the team. Giratina-O fits like salsa to the taco jaja so it was hard not to use it. Giratina-O has always been my favorite Uber so I was happy I could use it one more time.

For the last spot, I needed a pseudo Xerneas check and a Choice Scarf user, then I remember Melee Mewtwo gave me this Jirachi set the other day, which was a Choice Scarf set that also can check Geomancy Xerneas with some prior damage, which was delightful. I'll get into the set a little bit more later on. But I'll just tell you right now that Jirachi does wonders on this team.

This is how the team ended up looking like. I was satisfied and there was nothing I could do to make it better right off the bat.

Now that I'm done explaining how the team was created I'll move to the individual analysis for each pokemon.

dialga.gif

Dialga @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 248 HP / 244 SpD / 16 Spe
Calm Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast
- Toxic / Roar
- Stealth Rock

Dialga has always been a very good pokemon in XY Ubers, being one of the best (if not the best) Defensive pivots in the tier. Its ability to set up Stealth Rock reliably as well as switching into pokemon like Kyogre, Zekrom and Palkia makes it a really good pokemon. Although it fails to check Choice Specs Kyogre Dialga is still a very solid pokemon on this team. Choosing a defensive set should be self explanatory as I want to switch into Palkia, Kyogre and Zekrom with it. About the moves, Draco Meteor is a very powerful STAB move which OHKOs pokemon like Palkia and Zekrom. Fire Blast helps me deal with pokemon like Ferrothorn or Scizor who otherwise would be an annoyance for this pokemon. I like to use Toxic for checking Calm Arceus formes that are not Refresh variants (Electric and Ghost) but you can also use Roar to phaze Ho-Oh under a substitute or the incoming Heatran. Stealth Rock is just an entry hazard that every should have as it keeps pokemon like Ho-Oh and Lugia in check.

xerneas.gif

Xerneas @ Power Herb
Ability: Fairy Aura
EVs: 120 HP / 28 Def / 252 SpA / 108 Spe
Modest Nature
- Moonblast
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast
- Geomancy

If you talk to me regularly you might know that I don't use Geomancy Xerneas regularly, this is because I never really liked it that much. On this team though, Geomancy Xerneas is really good as a late game cleaner if needed or just to wallbreak just so Rayquaza or Arceus-Electric have an easier time sweeping or late game cleaning. The spread gives Genesect the Sp.Atk boost before I use Geomancy, which is really useful as well outspeeding the non-existent Choice Scarf Terrakion and Swift Swim Kabutops. As for the moves, Moonblast is a really strong STAB boost, Xerneas gets a virtual 1.33 boost on Moonblast thanks to its Fairy Aura abilty, that makes it easier for Xerneas to destroy absoulutely everything that is not a resist with it. I chose Psyshock over Thunder as coverage move because this team is rather weak to Arceus-Poison and it would be nice if I could lure it with Xerneas and kill it or at least do enough damage for Rayquaza or Jirachi to revenge kill. I chose Focus Blast as my other coverage move since Heatran is rising on ussagee, Focus Blast also helps me do a lot of damage to Extremekiller Arceus if I really need to. Geomancy is just a poopyhead ass move that makes Xerneas so overwhelming in general, giving it a +2 on Sp.Atk, Sp.Def and Speed in one turn thanks to Power Herb is just insane.

giratina-origin.gif

Giratina-Origin @ Griseous Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 212 Atk / 252 Def / 44 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Tail
- Shadow Sneak
- Will-O-Wisp / Shadow Force
- Defog

Giratina-O has received a lot of hype for the past weeks, people realized its ability to Defog and escape Shadow Tag users such as Gengar and Gothitelle should not be dismissed. Another factor that provoked the rising in usage is that Giratina-O can hit Geomancy Xerneas really hard with Shadow Force, no longer being set up fodder for it. I however, have been using Giratina-O on a lot of teams since the start of XY as Ghost typing has its perks. Anyways, I chose Giratina-O as my Defog user as it is immune to Spikes / Toxic Spikes and all the things that I mentioned above. Giratina-O also helps me check pokemon like Mega Kangaskan, Mega Blaziken and Extremekiller Arceus, which are extremely threatning for Offensive teams. Covering all of that in a single pokemon is great. I started using this EV spread in BW2 and it has worked for me ever since that metagame tt allows me to take any move from Extremekiller Arceus and either phaze it out or burn it with Will-O-Wisp, making it useless for the rest of the match. As for the moves, Dragon Tail is a powerful STAB move that helps me phaze pokemon like Extremekiller Arceus, Double Dance Groudon and Mega Blaziken, which is really helpful. Shadow Sneak is a really good priority move, hitting Mewtwo with super effective damage is amazing, it is also great for revenge killing some pokemon. I use Will-O-Wisp because it helps me burn Mega-Kangaskhan and the incoming Ferrothorn, which is huge on this team. You can also use Shadow Force over Will-O-Wisp but I don't think it's necessary as Jirachi + the offensive pressure that my team has should cover Geomancy Xerneas anyways. Defog is just a standard move that removes hazards, which is really helpful.

jirachi.gif

Jirachi @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 176 HP / 152 Atk / 180 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Iron Head
- Fire Punch / Zen Headbutt
- U-turn
- Healing Wish

Jirachi is probably the star of the team (jaja. get it). It became my favorite pokemon on the team as soon as I started playing with it. Melee Mewtwo gave me this Jirachi set around March and I really liked it, especially since Jirachi is one of my favorite pokemon overall haha. But its capacity of checking Xerneas, being a scarfer and reviving a worn down sweeper just makes it an excellent pokemon this team. The EV spread allows me to live a +2 Focus Blast after 2 (iirc) Stealth Rock switch-ins and hit it back with Iron Head, of course you need some prior damage first but that's very easy to accomplish on this team. As for the moves, Iron Head is a very good STAB move that hits Fairies pretty hard, it also allows me to flinch something to death if I really need to hehe bwoi. I like Fire Punch because it can hit the incoming Ferrothorn but you can use Zen Headbutt if you want to hit Arceus-Poison instead. U-turn does a good amount of amount of damage to Mewtwo formes and then Shadow Sneak with Giratina-O and destroy them, U-turn also generates moementum rather easily. Healing Wish is part of the reason I love Jirachi, reviving pokemon like Xerneas, Rayquaza or Arceus comes in handy late game. I really love Jirachi, man.

arceus-electric.gif

Arceus (Arceus-Electric) @ Zap Plate
Ability: Multitype
EVs: 248 HP / 4 Def / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Judgment
- Ice Beam
- Calm Mind
- Recover

As I said, this is one of the pokemon I based the team around. Arceus-Electric has always been one of my favorite Arceus formes and it has been a long time since I made a team with it so I decided to use it once again. Arceus-Electric also helps me deal with Choice Specs Kyogre, Ho-Oh, Zekrom and Yveltal in a certain way, which is nice. There's not much to say that hasn't before so I'll just explain the moves and such. EV spread is fairly standard, Max HP and Max Speed is a good spread as it allows you to outspeed a lot of stuff as well as take hits from certain mons. The moveset is fairly standard as well, Judgment is a powerful STAB move that allows me to check stuff like Ho-Oh and Kyogre. Ice Beam helps me deal with Ground types in general, which is really nice. Calm Mind makes Arceus extremely threatning and makes a win condition as the only way to stop it is to Toxic it or use a Scarfed Ground type if it gets too many Calm Minds.

rayquaza.gif

Rayquaza @ Life Orb
Ability: Air Lock
EVs: 32 HP / 252 Atk / 224 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Claw
- V-create
- Extreme Speed
- Swords Dance

Rayquaza is another pokemon I enjoy using, the Swords Dance set just turns it into one of the best wallbreakers in the game, having access to V-create and Extremespeed are some of its perks as it can't just only hit stuff really hard with V-create but it can also potentially revenge kill stuff with Extremespeed. I changed the spread a little bit, I don't think you need Max speed and Max Attack as the only pokemon you speed tie with is opposing Raquaza lol, so yeah I decided to add a little bit of HP. As for moves, Dragon Claw is a standard Dragon STAB, it's better than Outrage since it doesn't lock you into it which allows you to not get instantly revenge killed by a Fairy. V-create hits everything really hard, it OHKOs Physically Defensive Xerneas, making it a terrific option for Rayquaza on most of its sets. Extremespeed allows me to revenge kill pokemon that are worn down, it also hits really everything hard when at +2. Swords Dance makes Rayquaza a total monster, like once it sets up Swords Dance you need to choose what mon to be death fodder.

Threats:

491.png

Darkrai is probably the biggest threat to the team as I have no reliable sleep absorber and I pretty much have to fodder something to it just so I can deal with using Dialga or Jirachi.

382.png

Specs Kyogre is a big threat as well as given the free switch it gets a kill basically.

Conclusion: This team is fun.

Nice team Edgar. I don't have any major suggestions but the team looks pretty cool and unique. Only thing is the HP EV's on Jirachi are a bit odd. You said it lives a +2 Focus Blast after rocks, but you only need 92 for that (96 for odd number) and 196 for two rocks switches (200 for odd) so I'd go with one of those (unless 176 actually does something interesting). So yeah that was a little weird, there are some things that look annoying but I don't have anything particularly notable, I mean Dialga is pressured, but your own offensive pressure tends to relieve that pretty nicely. Solid team, interesting build :]

Good luck!

I like that you managed to use that set cause I've completely forgotten about it since sharing it with you, lol. I like the team too, although I feel like Ray is replaceable with Tina-O on it. Not sure with what, though.

I really love how you've paired scarf healing wish rachi with geoxern. It essentially helps with geoxern's biggest issue fitting on teams providing absolutely no defensive synergy. With scarfrachi you're able to run it on a heavy offense build such as this, and it can come in and check a dark or dragon type once in a match instead of 0 times, which is obviously incredibly usefel, without making the possibility of a geomancy sweep later in the game impossible either (at least not one so easily stopped by priority)

love the team

I see also HP Fire Geoxern as a big threat against your team, especially if played under Sun (Guaranteed OHKO on Jirachi) and if you don't have Roar on Dialga. He's able to setup on this Dialga or Giratina-O. Otherwise very nice team!

I used this team to ladder most of the way to reqs and I have to say that scarf support Jirachi is fantastic. I found that Fire punch was more of a liability than anything though seeing how if the is a geoxern around you don't want to touch Ferrothorn and they are usually in the rain anyways; Scizor lives and smacks it with Knock Off, also. I have tried other moves in that slot being Meteor Mash (40% atk raise is fun), and a screen for suicide purposes, but I never thought of Zen Headbutt for Poisonceus which will definitely give a try. This is definitely a fun team and I encourage anyone to give it a try.

Actually it struggles to set up on Gira-O as shadow force+shadow sneak does a ton.

You're right Haxiom. It's the better thing that Giratina-O can do against Xern to not be a setup bait. Giratina-O risks to be KO by Moonblast though so He can also be switched to ScarfRachi.
