[SET COMMENTS]

* Gothitelle's access to Shadow Tag and Taunt gives it a unique niche in the National Dex Ubers landscape. It lets Gothitelle trap common walls, such as defensive Ho-Oh and Coil Zygarde, forcing them to use Struggle, and it can deny setup from certain sweepers such as Ultra Necrozma. The ability for it to trap many key defensive Pokemon lets it aid offensive threats such as Zacian-C, Calm Mind Arceus-Fairy, and Mega Salamence and lets them forgo coverage for stronger move options. While Gothitelle needs a lot of support from allies, since it cannot trap most offensive Pokemon, its unique toolkit gives it a useful niche on specific bulky offense and balance structures.
* Taunt stops attempts to status, such as Ho-Oh and Primal Groudon's Toxic, from cutting into Gothitelle's longevity. It also blocks phazing attempts such as Primal Groudon's Roar and Ho-Oh's Whirlwind, and it denies attempts to recover health, like Zygarde's Rest.
* Rest lets Gothitelle stay healthy throughout the trap, decreasing the reliance on Leftovers recovery. It also lets Gothitelle recover from status conditions, like Sacred Fire burns from Ho-Oh and Primal Groudon's Toxic.
* Charm is Gothitelle's most reliable way to decrease the damage dealt by foes, since most of the Pokemon Gothitelle aims to trap, like Ho-Oh, Zygarde, and Ultra Necrozma, are primarily physical attackers.
* Cosmic Power is a source of extra physical bulk, boosting Gothitelle's Defense after dropping the foe's attack to -6, and, when fully boosted up, Gothitelle can outheal the foe's damage with Leftovers. Cosmic Power also gives Gothitelle a boost to Special Defense, which can come in handy when trapping defensive Eternatus and Primal Groudon. After forcing a foe to Struggle, very few Pokemon can reliably break through a fully set-up Gothitelle, meaning it can trap foes it normally can't, such as Mega Salamence and Zacian-C.
* Substitute gives Gothitelle a temporary immunity to the phazing effect of Dragon Tail from Zygarde and Primal Groudon and various status conditions, such as Toxic and Sacred Fire burns from Ho-Oh and Salt Cure from Garganacl. It also blocks Overheat from Primal Groudon and forces it to drop its Special Attack without Gothitelle taking the full-power Overheat. It also keeps Gothitelle safe from critical hits that can deal too much damage for it to comfortably tank. Substitute does have the downside of having less PP than Cosmic Power, which can give Gothitelle trouble when trapping multiple targets in certain matchups, such as against stall or when facing both Rock Tomb Primal Groudon and Brave Bird Ho-Oh, and when forced to run the faster EV spread, since otherwise, it can't outspeed Primal Groudon and block its Overheat.
* The first EV spread is fully focused on Defense to grant Gothitelle the most consistency when trapping the mainly physical foes, like Zygarde, Ho-Oh, and Ultra Necrozma, giving it an easier time when switching in. The second EV spread invests in enough Speed to outspeed base 90s, like Primal Groudon, Ho-Oh and Zygarde-C. This lets Gothitelle use Charm to lower their Attack before they can use an offensive move, or Gothitelle can use Taunt to block an attempt to status. An alternative set with Choice Scarf, Trick, and enough speed to outpace Yveltal can also be used to bait and trap Yveltal and offensive Eternatus and set up on them with Calm Mind and deal a ton of damage with a boosted Stored Power. This set can struggle when trapping other foes, however, as many Pokemon such as the Calm Mind Arceus formes and Primal Groudon cannot be tricked. It also sacrifices the good matchup it has against Pokemon it usually traps, such as Ho-Oh and Zygarde, as Gothitelle cannot afford to run Charm on Trick variants.
* Tera Ghost grants Gothitelle an incredible matchup against stall, letting it trap common stall Pokemon Chansey, which only runs Seismic Toss as a damaging move. With the immunity to Seismic Toss, Gothitelle can fully trap Chansey. This, alongside the ability to trap Dondozo and Ho-Oh, means Gothitelle allows both physical and special setup sweepers to break through the stall matchup more easily. It also grants a nice bonus benefit in letting Gothitelle escape trapper Zygarde's Thousand Waves after draining all the PP of its offensive moves in case Gothitelle's trapping is needed at another point in the game. Tera Water gives Gothitelle a resistance to Fire and Steel, letting it trap Overheat Primal Groudon, Dragon Dance Necrozma-DM, and defensive Ho-Oh with higher consistency. It also lets Gothitelle trap Choice-locked Pokemon such as Chien-Pao, Calyrex-I, and Melmetal. Tera Fairy gives Gothitelle an immunity to Dragon Tail phazing from Coil Zygarde, letting it trap it. It also lets Gothitelle trap Chien-Pao locked into Crunch and Choice Scarf Yveltal.
* Taunt should be used first when facing foes that can give Gothitelle a status condition or phaze it, like defensive Ho-Oh. Charm should be used first when facing a foe that has a high immediate damage output, such as Primal Groudon, or when facing a foe that can boost up, such as Coil Zygarde or Dragon Dance Ultra Necrozma, immediately decreasing their damage output before using Taunt on them to prevent further setup. Charm should also be used when facing a Pokemon that only has offensive moves, such as a Choice item foe like Calyrex-I. If using Rest is needed, using Taunt the turn before Rest is important, as it ensures Gothitelle grants the foe as few turns as possible, being able to use Taunt again right after waking up and only giving one free turn, and when facing a Whirlwind Ho-Oh, this prevents phazing completely.
* Scouting the moveset of the foe is important when using Gothitelle, since almost all foes that Gothitelle aims to trap have sets that can break through it. Dragon Dance Zygarde has Substitute, which means it doesn't fear Gothitelle's Charm. Primal Groudon and Ho-Oh can also run offensive sets, and Gothitelle does not have the bulk to take their hits comfortably; in Primal Groudon's case, it can OHKO Gothitelle outright with a Heat Crash from its Double Dance set. Rare coverage options can also take Gothitelle by surprise and KO it. Dragon Dance Ultra Necrozma can run Outrage or X-Scissor, which OHKO Gothitelle at +1 after Stealth Rock. Z-Moves also need to be accounted for, as at +1, Arceus-Ground and Necrozma-DM can OHKO Gothitelle with their respective Z-Moves, Tectonic Rage and Searing Sunraze Smash.
* Playing around critical-hit ranges is crucial when using Gothitelle, as since the PP stall can take a long time, it is likely Gothitelle will take a critical hit at least once. Keeping it at high HP with Rest or consistently maintaining a Substitute, even when the foe is dealing little damage, means Gothitelle has to worry less about fainting to a random critical hit, further boosting its consistency. Foes with a faster Taunt, like Yveltal and Arceus formes, can completely shut down Gothitelle, since it only runs status moves. A Substitute from an opposing Kyurem-B or Zekrom can also block Charm, but Taunt still bypasses their Substitute and can still block their attempts to use a boosting move.
* Gothitelle pairs incredibly well with strong offensive threats that can take advantage of its ability to trap common defensive checks and counters. Zacian-C and Mega Salamence appreciate Gothitelle trapping Coil Zygarde, defensive Primal Groudon, and Dondozo; Zacian-C also benefits from it trapping Ho-Oh. Calm Mind Arceus formes value Gothitelle trapping Ho-Oh, and Eternatus values it trapping defensive Primal Groudon and both appreciate it trapping Chansey. Gothitelle often only needs to take out one or two of these foes to enable a sweep from one of its allies. These offensive allies can in turn handle the matchups Gothitelle struggles in, like the hyper offense matchup. Zacian-C can reliably come in on Calm Mind Arceus-Dark and -Fairy that counter Gothitelle with a faster Taunt, Mega Salamence can boost its Speed and then punch holes through a usually defensively weak hyper offense team and provides utility with Intimidate, and Calm Mind Arceus formes can aid Gothitelle versus Meteor Beam Eternatus and Chi-Yu. Gothitelle doesn't even need to fully take out one of its foes, as fainting after using Charm once or twice can mean a free turn of setup for an ally to turn into a sweep. For example, at -2, a defensive Primal Groudon deals no meaningful damage to Calm Mind Arceus formes, which means Arceus can get a free Calm Mind off as Primal Groudon is forced out.
* Preparing for hyper offense is very important, as aside from countering Dragon Dance Ultra Necrozma, Gothitelle is almost useless, since many common hyper offense Pokemon, like Zacian-C and Double Dance Primal Groudon, have too much immediate damage output for Gothitelle to be able to trap or switch into them. Pairing Gothitelle with allies that have a good matchup against hyper offense, like Ditto, Coil Zygarde, and Choice Scarf Yveltal, can help in this matchup. Ditto also has the added bonus of easily being able to scout sets. In turn, Gothitelle helps Coil Zygarde and Choice Scarf Yveltal in the stall matchup.
* Toxic and Toxic Spikes support from allies like offensive Ho-Oh and Eternatus, respectively, allows Gothitelle to speed up the trapping process, risking less critical hits versus foes like Primal Groudon and saving crucial PP in the stall matchup, since Taunt has limited PP. A badly poisoned foe also means that Gothitelle can trap foes it normally can't, such as support non-Taunt Arceus-Dark, which usually deals too much damage for Gothitelle to reliably trap without fainting, or Dragon Dance Zygarde when running Tera Fairy. Offensive Ho-Oh also has a good matchup against Calm Mind Arceus formes, since Ho-Oh is not reliant on status moves to deal with them. Choice Scarf Yveltal the fastest Defogger in the tier, and it is the most reliable way to clear Sticky Web from the field. This enables Zacian-C and other setup allies to break through hyper offense teams.

That image has got to count as R34. Quite a few changes so please ping me when they're done so I can look it over and stamp. Defensive NDM is probably not even worth mentioning, yet alone to the degree it is featured here. Also when you're using 'like [insert mon here]' it generally reads better if you use 'such as'. Also trap or trapping is the terminology not 'deals with'. Great Job!

It lets Gothitelle trap common walls, such as defensive Ho-Oh and Coil Zygarde, forcing them to use Struggle, and deny setup from certain sweepers such as Ultra Necrozma. Theis ability for Gothitelle to remove trap many certain key defensive Pokemon lets it aid offensive threats such as Zacian-C, Calm Mind Arceus-Fairy and Mega Salamence, giving it a useful niche on bulky offense and balance structures. I'd talk a little more about how Gothitelle is a bit specific to build with and one of the biggest upsides is how it enables various pokemon to ignore coverage for checks. The specific thing is more you cannot just chuck it on a team so while it is great at supporting various mons, its structures are not super varied. Also include Gothitelle's struggles with trapping most offensive pokemon.

* Taunt stops attempts to status, such as Ho-Oh and Primal Groudon's Toxic, from cutting into Gothitelle's longevity. It also blocks phazing attempts from Primal Groudon's Roar or Ho-Oh's Whirlwind, and denies attempts to recover health, like Zygarde's Rest or defensive Necrozma-DM's Morning Sun not sure if this analysis is even going to stay. Rest lets Gothitelle stay healthy throughout the stall, decreasing the reliance on leftovers recovery and also letting it heal from status conditions, like Sacred Fire burns from Ho-Oh, and Primal Groudon's Toxic phrasing is a bit clunky. Charm is Gothitelle's most reliable way to decrease the damage dealt by foes, since most of the Pokemon things Gothitelle aims to trap, like Ho-Oh, Zygarde, and Ultra Necrozma, are primarily physical attackers.

* Cosmic Power is a source of extra physical bulk, boosting Gothitelle's defense after dropping the foe's attack to -6, and, when fully boosted up, can outheal the opponent's damage with leftovers. It also gives Gothitelle a boost to special defense, which can come in handy when trapping defensive Eternatus and Overheat Primal Groudon mention that it makes most Pokemon reliant on crits to break through it and makes Gothitelle difficult to answer outside of Taunt users or Marshadow's Spectral Thief after it has trapped a Pokemon. Sub should be its own bullet. Substitute gives Gothitelle a temporary immunity to the phazing effect of Dragon Tail from Zygarde and Primal Groudon, and various status conditions, such as Toxic and Sacred Fire burns from Ho-Oh and Salt Cure from Garganacl. It also blocks Overheat from Primal Groudon and forces it to drop its special attack without Gothitelle taking too much damage. It also keeps Gothitelle safe from critical hits that can deal too much damage for it to comfortably tank. Substitute does have the downside of having less PP than Cosmic Power, which can give it trouble when stalling multiple targets in certain matchups, such as when facing stall, or when facing both Rock Tomb Primal Groudon and Brave Bird Ho-Oh. Mention this should only be used with the secondary EV spread.

* The first EV spread is fully focused on physical defense to grant Gothitelle the most consistency when stalling the mainly physical foes, like Zygarde, Ho-Oh and Ultra Necrozma, it is trapping, giving it an easier time when switching in, or when absorbing a potential crit. The second EV spread invests in enough speed to outspeed base 90 Pokemon, like Primal Groudon, Ho-Oh and Zygarde-C. This lets Gothitelle get the jump on them and use Charm to lower their attack before they can use an offensive move,(rc) or use Taunt to block an attempt to status,(rc) and stop healing moves, such as like Zygarde-C's Rest. An alternative set with Choice Scarf, Trick and enough speed to outpace Yveltal at +1 can also be used to bait and trap Yveltal and offensive Eternatus, and set up on them with a Calm Mind boosted Stored Power. Unsure if Scarf if worth mentioning.

* Tera Ghost grants Gothitelle an incredible matchup into stall, letting it trap common stall Pokemon Chansey and Dondozo, without fearing Seismic Toss and Body Press respectively, letting both Physical and Special setup sweepers break through the matchup more easily. It already traps Dondozo reliably so rephrase to explain how it enables it trap Chansey as well. It also grants a nice bonus benefit which lets Gothitelle escape trapper Zygarde's Thousand Waves after stalling out all of it's moves, if Gothitelle's trapping is needed at another point in the game. Tera Water gives Gothitelle a resistance to Fire and Steel, letting it trap Overheat Primal Groudon, Dragon Dance Necrozma-DM and defensive Ho-Oh with higher consistency. It also lets Gothitelle trap foes that are choice-(ah)locked Pokemon such as into certain moves, like Chien-Pao locked into Ice Spinner, Calyrex-I,(ac) locked into Glacial Lance and Melmetal locked into Double Iron Bash. Tera Fairy gives Gothitelle an immunity to Dragon Tail phazing from Coil Zygarde, letting it trap stay in and stall it out. It also lets Gothitelle trap stall out Chien-Pao locked into Crunch and Choice Scarf Yveltal locked into Foul Play.

* Taunt should be used first when facing foes that can give Gothitelle a status condition, like Toxic Ho-Oh or , phaze Gothitelle out, like Whirlwind defensive Ho-Oh, or use other status moves, like Stealth Rock from defensive Necrozma-DM. Charm should be used first when facing a foe that has a high immediate damage output, such as Primal Groudon, or when facing a foe that can boost up, such as Coil Zygarde or Dragon Dance Ultra Necrozma, immediately decreasing their damage output before clicking taunt on them to prevent further setup. Charm should also be used when facing a Pokemon that only has offensive moves, such as a Choiced foe like Calyrex-I. If using Rest is needed, Taunting the turn before clicking Rest is important as it ensures Gothitelle grants the foe as few turns as possible, being able to Taunt again right after waking up, only giving 1 free turn, and when facing a Whirlwind Ho-Oh, preventing phazing completely.

* Scouting the moveset of the opponent is important when using Gothitelle since almost all foes that Gothitelle aims to trap have sets that can break through it. Dragon Dance Zygarde has Dragon Tail, which means it can always phaze Gothitelle out and set upmention substitute which is bigger than dragon tail since it blocks charm. Primal Groudon and Ho-Oh can also run offensive sets which Gothitelle does not have the bulk for to take their hits comfortably, and in Primal Groudon's case, can OHKO Gothitelle outright with a Heat Crash from its double dance set. Rare coverage options can also take Gothitelle by surprise and KO it. Dragon Dance Ultra Necrozma can run Outrage or X-Scissor, which OHKO Gothitelle at +1 after Stealth Rocks. Z-Moves also need to be accounted for as at +1, Arceus-Ground and Necrozma-DM can OHKO Gothitelle with their respective Z-Moves, Tectonic Rage and Searing Sunraze Smash.

A Substitute from an opposing Dragon Dance Zygarde Kyurem-B or Zekrom can also block Charm, but Taunt still bypasses their Substitute and still block their attempts to use a boosting move. This can be combined with the above bullet

* Gothitelle pairs incredibly well with strong offensive threats that can take advantage of Gothitelle's ability to trap take care of common defensive checks or counters walls. Allies like Zacian-C, Mega Salamence, Calm Mind Arceus formes and Eternatus appreciate Gothitelle's ability to trap take care of walls that can otherwise stop a sweep, like Coil Zygarde defensive, Ho-Oh, Defensive Necrozma-DM, Defensive Primal Groudon, Dondozo and Chansey. Rephrase this as it isn't clear pokemon benefits from what wall is removed. Gothitelle often only needs to take out one or two of these foes to enable a sweep from one of its allies. These offensive allies can in turn handle the matchups Gothitelle struggles in, like the hyper offense matchupexplain how. Gothitelle doesn't even need to fully take out one of its foes, as fainting after using Charm once or twice can mean a free turn of setup for an ally to turn into a sweep. Wording on this last sentence is odd. I get what you mean, but give an exaple.

* Preparing for hyper offense is very important as aside from countering Dragon Dance Ultra Necrozma, or matching Swords Dance boosts with Charm drops versus something like Extreme Killer Arceus, it can just taunt and get another boost Gothitelle is almost useless, since many common hyper offense Pokemon, like Zacian-C or Rayquazause a different example, ray isn't common enough, have too much immediate damage output for Gothitelle to be able to take worth mentioning it can't switch in either. Pairing Gothitelle with allies that have a good matchup into hyper offense, like Ditto, Coil Zygarde and Choice Scarf Yveltal, can help in this matchup. Mention how these appreciate Gothitelle (i.e. Zyg + Yveltal against stall). Also mention Zacian-C handling Taunt CM Arceus formes that can use Gothitelle as setup fodder.

* Toxic and Toxic Spikes support from allies like Ho-Oh and Eternatus respectively allow Gothitelle to speed up the trapping process, risking less critical hits versus foes like Primal Groudon, and saving crucial PP in the stall matchup. A Toxiced foe also means that Gothitelle can trap foes it normally can't, such as support Arceus-Dark lacking taunt, or when running Tera Fairy, Dragon Dance Zygarde. bullet should be reworded. I get Gothitelle benefits from these, but it isn't clear from how you've written it. I'd focus more on offensive Ho-Oh specifically, but Gothitelle does not need that much PP in the stall matchup. It should be able to trap enough without Toxic support especially as it can just Tera Ghost to trap Chansey + Dozo which should be enough for any good team. It can trap more than that anyways.

[SET COMMENTS]

* Gothitelle's access to Shadow Tag and Taunt give it a unique niche in the National Dex Ubers landscape. It lets Gothitelle trap common walls, such as defensive Ho-Oh and Coil Zygarde, forcing them to use Struggle, and deny setup from certain sweepers such as Ultra Necrozma. The ability for it to trap many key defensive Pokemon lets it aid offensive threats such as Zacian-C, Calm Mind Arceus-Fairy and Mega Salamence, and letting them forgo coverage for stronger move options. While Gothitelle needs a lot of support from allies since it cannot trap most offensive Pokemon, its unique toolkit gives it a useful niche on specific bulky offense and balance structures.

* Taunt stops attempts to status, such as Ho-Oh and Primal Groudon's Toxic, from cutting into Gothitelle's longevity. It also blocks phazing attempts from Primal Groudon's Roar or Ho-Oh's Whirlwind, and denies attempts to recover health, like Zygarde's Rest. The following should be made a separate bullet point Rest lets Gothitelle stay healthy throughout the trap, decreasing the reliance on leftovers Leftovers fix other instances of this recovery. It also lets Gothitelle recover from status conditions, like Sacred Fire burns from Ho-Oh, and Primal Groudon's Toxic. Charm is Gothitelle's most reliable way to decrease the damage dealt by foes, since most of the Pokemon Gothitelle aims to trap, like Ho-Oh, Zygarde, and Ultra Necrozma, are primarily physical attackers.

* Cosmic Power is a source of extra physical bulk, boosting Gothitelle's defense after dropping the foe's attack to -6, and, when fully boosted up, can outheal the opponent's damage with leftovers. It also gives Gothitelle a boost to special defense, which can come in handy when trapping defensive Eternatus and Primal Groudon. After forcing a foe to struggle capitalize "struggle" if you mean the move Struggle, rather than merely the "normal" action, very few Pokemon can reliably break through a fully set up Gothitelle meaning it can trap things it normally can't, such as Mega Salamence and Zacian-C. The most reliable way of dealing with a set up Gothitelle is by Taunting it with an Arceus or Yveltal, stealing its stats with Marshadow's Spectral Thief, or by fishing for a critical hit. Unsure why the last sentence is here, that seems to fit more in the teammates section by then elaborating after it on what checks most of those answers. On that note phazing by Dragon Tail for variants without Substitute or Tera Fairy should also be brought up while at it

* Substitute gives Gothitelle a temporary immunity to the phazing effect of Dragon Tail from Zygarde and Primal Groudon, and various status conditions, such as Toxic and Sacred Fire burns from Ho-Oh and Salt Cure from Garganacl. It also blocks Overheat from Primal Groudon and forces it to drop its special attack without Gothitelle taking too much damage. It also keeps Gothitelle safe from critical hits that can deal too much damage for it to comfortably tank. Substitute does have the downside of having less PP than Cosmic Power, which can give it trouble when trapping multiple targets in certain matchups, such as when facing stall, or when facing both Rock Tomb Primal Groudon and Brave Bird Ho-Oh, and being forced to run the faster EV spread, since otherwise it can't outspeed Primal Groudon and block its Overheat.

* The first EV spread is fully focused on physical defense to grant Gothitelle the most consistency when trapping the mainly physical foes, like Zygarde, Ho-Oh and Ultra Necrozma, it is trapping, redundant and weird giving it an easier time when switching in. The second EV spread invests in enough speed to outspeed base 90 Pokemon, like Primal Groudon, Ho-Oh and Zygarde-C. This lets Gothitelle use Charm to lower their attack before they can use an offensive move or use Taunt to block an attempt to status. An alternative set with Choice Scarf, Trick and enough speed to outpace Yveltal at +1 can also be used to bait and trap Yveltal and offensive Eternatus, and set up on them with a Calm Mind boosted Stored Power. Given this is an other options of sorts you should really elaborate on the glaring issues it has, namely being passive if it tries to Trick on a foe with an item that can't be removed like Zacian-C, Primal Groudon, Z-Move users, or Calm Mind Arceus formes

* Tera Ghost grants Gothitelle an incredible matchup into stall, letting it trap common stall Pokemon Chansey, which only runs Seismic Toss as a damaging move. With the immunity to Seismic Toss it can fully trap Chansey. This, alongside the ability to trap Dondozo and Ho-Oh means Gothitelle allows both Physical and Special setup sweepers to break through the stall matchup more easily. It also grants a nice bonus benefit which lets Gothitelle escape trapper Zygarde's Thousand Waves after draining all the PP of its offensive moves, if Gothitelle's trapping is needed at another point in the game. Tera Water gives Gothitelle a resistance to Fire and Steel, letting it trap Overheat Primal Groudon, Dragon Dance Necrozma-DM and defensive Ho-Oh with higher consistency.

* Taunt should be used first when facing foes that can give Gothitelle a status condition or phaze Gothitelle out, like defensive Ho-Oh.

Dragon Dance Zygarde has Substitute, which means it doesn't fear Gothitelle's Charm. Dragon Dance Ultra Necrozma can run Outrage or X-Scissor, which OHKO Gothitelle at +1 after Stealth Rock. Z-Moves also need to be accounted for as at +1, Arceus-Ground and Necrozma-DM can OHKO Gothitelle with their respective Z-Moves, Tectonic Rage and Searing Sunraze Smash.

* Playing around crit ranges is crucial when using Gothitelle as since the PP stall can take a long time, it is likely Gothitelle will get crit at least once. Keeping it at high HP with Rest or consistently maintaining a Substitute, even when the foe is dealing little damage, means Gothitelle has to worry less about fainting to a random critical hit which will boost its consistency. Foes with a faster Taunt, like Yveltal and Arceus formes, can completely shut down Gothitelle since it only runs status moves and forces Gothitelle to Struggle. A Substitute from an opposing Kyurem-B or Zekrom can also block Charm, but Taunt still bypasses their Substitute and still block their attempts to use a boosting move.

* Gothitelle pairs incredibly well with strong offensive threats that can take advantage of Gothitelle's ability to trap common defensive checks and counters. Zacian-C appreciates Gothitelle trapping Coil Zygarde, defensive Ho-Oh, defensive Primal Groudon and Dondozo, Mega Salamence appreciates it trapping Coil Zygarde, defensive Primal Groudon and Dondozo, Calm Mind Arceus likes Gothitelle trapping Ho-Oh and Chansey, and Eternatus appreciates it trapping defensive Primal Groudon and Chansey. Gothitelle often only needs to take out one or two of these foes to enable a sweep from one of its allies. These offensive allies can in turn handle the matchups Gothitelle struggles in, like the hyper offense matchup. Zacian-C can reliably come in on Calm Mind Arceus-Dark and Arceus-Fairy that counter Gothitelle with a faster Taunt, Mega Salamence can boost its speed and then punch holes through a usually defensively weak hyper offense team, and also provides utility with Intimidate, and Calm Mind Arceus formes can aid Gothitelle versus Meteor Beam Eternatus and Chi-Yu. Gothitelle doesn't even need to fully take out one of its foes, as fainting after using Charm once or twice can mean a free turn of setup for an ally to turn into a sweep. For example, at -2, a defensive Primal Groudon deals no meaningful damage to Calm Mind Arceus formes which means Arceus can get a free Calm Mind off as Primal Groudon is forced out.

* Preparing for hyper offense is very important as aside from countering Dragon Dance Ultra Necrozma, Gothitelle is almost useless, since many common hyper offense Pokemon, like Zacian-C or Double Dance Primal Groudon, have too much immediate damage output for Gothitelle to be able to trap or switch into them. Pairing Gothitelle with allies that have a good matchup into hyper offense, like Ditto, Coil Zygarde and Choice Scarf Yveltal, can help in this matchup. In turn, Gothitelle helps Coil Zygarde and Choice Scarf Yveltal in the stall matchup. Should also note the synergy Ditto has in terms of scouting to make Goth even more consistent

* Toxic and Toxic Spikes support from allies like offensive Ho-Oh and Eternatus respectively allow Gothitelle to speed up the trapping process, risking less critical hits versus foes like Primal Groudon, and saving crucial PP in the stall matchup, since Taunt has limited PP. A Toxiced foe also means that Gothitelle can trap foes it normally can't, such as support Arceus-Dark lacking taunt, which usually deals too much damage for Gothitelle to reliably trap without fainting, or when running Tera Fairy, Dragon Dance Zygarde. Offensive Ho-Oh also has a good matchup into Calm Mind Arceus, since Ho-Oh is not reliant on status moves to deal with them. Choice Scarf Yveltal can also help the team, since it is the fastest Defogger in the tier, and is the most reliable way to clear Sticky Web from the field. This enables Zacian-C and other setup allies from breaking through hyper offense.

Pairing Gothitelle with allies that have a good matchup into against hyper offense, like Ditto, Coil Zygarde, (AC) and Choice Scarf Yveltal, can help in this matchup. Ditto also has the added bonus of easily being able to scout opposing sets. In turn, Gothitelle helps Coil Zygarde and Choice Scarf Yveltal in the stall matchup.

* Toxic and Toxic Spikes support from allies like offensive Ho-Oh and Eternatus, (AC) respectively, (AC) allows allow Gothitelle to speed up the trapping process, risking less critical hits versus foes like Primal Groudon (RC) and saving crucial PP in the stall matchup, since Taunt has limited PP. A Toxiced badly poisoned foe also means that Gothitelle can trap foes it normally can't, such as support non-Taunt Arceus-Dark lacking taunt, which usually deals too much damage for Gothitelle to reliably trap without fainting, or Dragon Dance Zygarde when running Tera Fairy (RC) Dragon Dance Zygarde to minimize clauses. Offensive Ho-Oh also has a good matchup into against Calm Mind Arceus formes check please, since Ho-Oh is not reliant on status moves to deal with them. Choice Scarf Yveltal can also help the team, since it is the fastest Defogger in the tier, and it is the most reliable way to clear Sticky Web from the field. This enables Zacian-C and other setup allies from breaking to break through hyper offense teams.
