Johto Competitive Team

Hello all, let me preface this by saying I havn't played since I was a kid and I just started playing competitive. I have made a team of my favorite pokemon from the original 251. Any guidance you can give is appreciated.

Skarmory @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 232 Def / 252 HP / 24 Spd
Impish Nature
- Brave Bird
- Spikes
- Roost
- Whirlwind

My physical wall, and entry hazards pokemon. Hard to take down and easy to stall with.

Gengar @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Focus Blast
- Thunderbolt
- Pain Split
- Shadow Ball

Main special attacker and special sweeper. One of my all time favorites.

Arcanine @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 72 HP / 8 SDef / 176 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Extreme Speed
- Wild Charge
- Outrage

My favorite pokemon. Extreme speed to finish off weaker opponents and outrage for dragons that give me trouble. Does not always work because of 1KO earthquakes :/

Tyranitar @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Pursuit
- Crunch
- Stone Edge
- Superpower

Physical tank. Out-speeds a surprising number of pokemon

Venusaur-Mega @ Venusaurite
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 68 Def / 252 HP / 100 SDef / 88 Spd
Bold Nature
- Sleep Powder
- Giga Drain
- Leech Seed
- Sludge Bomb

My first pokemon ever, bulbasaur. His mega is ridiculously bulky so I went for a stall set here, inducing status and using healing moves to replace leftovers.

Blissey (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Bold Nature
- Soft-Boiled
- Aromatherapy
- Flamethrower
- Toxic

Special wall and status inducer. Cleric of the team.

I seem to have trouble with Aegislash, Garchomp, Thunderous so far from playing on showdown. I tried to counter these weaknesses with flamethrower on Blissey for Aegislash and outrage on Arcanine. Entry hazards are also a problem sometimes :/ I hope i did this post right. Thank you for your time

I would recommend looking into gyarados to replace arcanine as your bulky attacker. It will help with both aegislash and garchomp if you run the right set and its typing allows it to be immune to earthquake and it has ice fang to take care of garchomp fairly easily (although skarm can generally put a stop to most sets) gyarados also has the bulk to beat aegislash and can run eq to hit it with a powerful move that doesnt activate kings shields attack drop.

As for thunderous, you should be able to wall it with venusaur and blissey (I would switch blissey to chansey if possible as well although this would mean no flamethrower).

And finally, hazards can be removed with defog on skarmory. Personally I would just remove brave bird and slot it in as most things skarm walls wont carry taunt. I would also trade spikes for stealth rock as rocks are much more important and easy to setup in the current meta.

Hey man, before I rate you should really read the rules in making an RMT because you need to at least write three lines for descrpition, with justfication. Edit before a mod locks it.
