Judgement Light
A fifth gen sun team using Dragonite and Volcarona as setup sweepers, and Tentacruel/Gliscor/Porygon2 as a defensive core.
.
Since gen 5's drought ninetales addition i've been having a lot of fun in the sun. (although i wish arcanine got it to be honest) but ninetales is what we got, unless i want an eviolite vulpix... lol, yeah ninetales it is. (CHANGES IN RED)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
(((((TEAM SETS AND DESCRIPTIONS)))))
(Daemonik); Ninetales @ Leftovers w/ Drought
+4 hp / +252 Sp.atk / +252 Speed / Timid
FireBlast / Confuse Ray / Protect / Substitute
My own special set, usually used for leading, setting up sun and scouting with protect. When the opponent sees protect they will expect it in future and feel safe switching out / using a status move, just for me to get up a free sub and proceed to hit a moderately powerful 120 Basepower / STAB in the sun off of a 263 sp.atk stat, and 328 speed. Most unresisted / non wall hits will make opponents go down in two hits, or will be forced to switch into something that resists. Once their weather inducer is down, or i find a really good opportunity to get a safe switch into something paralyzed or poisoned, i will come in and go back and forth between protect and sub, abusing leftover recovery. In ideal circumstances i can burn up to 13 turns on a poisoned poke, which will more than kill it even if it has a recovery move and leftovers. Or against a paralyzed poke i can get 6 sub attempts off, which is about a 90% chance for a successful sub getting up taking into account diminishing returns. (25% chance 6 times) This though only refers to specific lategame circumstances when they can't afford to switch out, because otherwise they will, and why i usually go sub, protect, sub, sub as they tend to switch on the second predicted protect.
(FireSpirit); Volcarona @ Leftovers w/ Flame Body
+240 Hp / +230 Def / +40 Speed / Immodest
FireDance / ButterflyDance / Morning Sun / Bug Buzz
In the past i always used Victini on my sun teams over volcarona, as i found any pokemon with a 4x rock weakness not worth it to use. Anyways i finally tried this out, with the spinner support needed, and wow, what a beast. I wish i had been using this thing earlier. Ive started to like it so much i even have it on a rain team for when i encounter enemy sun teams (lol) The set above is my favorite, 240 hp allows me to switch into rocks twice, and live. 66% hp healing move, with firedance/butterfly dance just being rediculous. The set is the same as the smogon one, except with Modest instead of bold, but it still takes physical hits decently, and if im lucky flamebody gives me a free defense boost against whatever got burned. If i see a team with not many good answers to volcarona, i may start sweeping early from gliscor's u-turn. (Tho I really dislike Burungeru, with its resists to both attacks and cursed body haxxxx, as well as blocking rapid spins :C. Resistant walls, or strong walls with status are annoying also. AKA the BLISSS.)
(SkySpirit); Dragonite @ Lum Berry w/ Multiscale
+4 Hp / +252 Speed / + 252 Atk / Adamant
ExtremeSpeed / Firepunch / Outrage / DragonDance
Dragonite was one of my favorite pokemanz in Gen 1, i remember spending hours trying to fish for a dratini in the safari zone, until i found out i could buy one at the gambling place. Then i taught it toxic and wrap, good times. I also used it when salamence was banned in the steel/dragon era of gen 4. Now with multiscale and it's natural bulk, if it can come in at full hp, nearly nothing bar a stab dragon move is going to stop it getting atleast one dance, usually two if they have to switch out to a counter. They cannot bypass this with status, as lum berry gives me a free dance on it. From there i BrickBreak steels/blissey, and outrage everything else. Extreme speed is there so i can bring it in to revenge kill something with 50% hp or so, in desperate situations. Sometimes i lead with him if i expect i can get away with it. If my lum is still up, outrage confusion will be cancelled, which is always nice.
(1337 Hax); Porygon2 @ Eviolite w/ Trace
+252 Hp / +150 Def / +108 Sp.Def / Modest
ThunderBolt / IceBeam / Recover / ThunderWave
Such a fun pokemon, with immunity to ghost and no weaknesses except fighting, which i carry 4 resistances too... lol. Bolt-beam coverage off modest boosted 105 sp.atk. Basically used to paralyze as many things as possible, particularly faster threats for setting up on later, and with the awesome move trace, uses many opponents traits against themselves. IE stopping salamence, gyrados setting up, natural cure from blissey etc. Or is Chandelure or heatran switching into a fire move and attempting to sweep me? No problem, trace it back and thunderwave. With eviolite stone, defensive stats reach 379 EACH with a decent 374 hp. My team is weak to rock, so i rely on the strong defense of porygon2 and gliscor to take them neutrally with their good defense.
(Pharaoh); Gliscor @ Toxic Orb w/ Poison Heal
+252 Hp / +180 Def / +76 Speed / Impish
Earthquake / Theif / Protect / Fling
Pharaoh is a great addition to the team, offering some nice resistances and immunitys and acting as a status absorber, with poison heal. Gliscor + Tentacruel give near complete coverage to one another. (The only thing not covered is tentacruel's psychic weakness) They otherwise are a really good combination. Tentacruel is weak to ground and electric, which gliscor is immune to, and Gliscor is weak to ice, and water when sun isnt up, which tentacruel resists. Gliscor for sand teams, and tentacruel for rain and both of them carry items a trick user wont want :D After i switch into gliscor from ninetales i can generally get a safe switch to tentacruel to lay some (as suggested) toxic spikes out, as any move aimed at gliscor will be resisted by it.
(Metroid); Tentacruel @ Black Sludge w/ Rain Dish
+252 Hp / +120 Def / +136 Sp.def / Calm
Protect / HP.FIRE / Rapid Spin / Toxic Spikes
Metroid is one of the members that underwent the most change, i used donphan as my spinner for the longest time, and went through starmie and blastoise then finally Tentacruel (thought i miss the extra bulk blastoise offered, it lacks the typing i want :/). Tentacruel gives me a good answer to scizor and politoed. Even though Tentacruel is a wall of sorts, it leaves a little to be desired, so i try to use it mainly for spinning and killing scizors and ferrothorns, and really not much else. With no investments, 120 Base sp.def isnt that great, and 252 def + bold nature still doesn't take neutral physical hits amazingly well :P
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
So thats my team as it stands. It has changed a lot, but always has room for improvement. I'll list some threats i noticed as my main issues, if you can think of ways to deal with them, or others i havn't encountered yet plz list them. Most of you are probably better than me anyways, so help me make this team better! While i like certain sets and synergy that im using, if you have a more efficient one ill try it online and see how it does, and update my team with it if it does well.

(TROUBLE THREATS)
#1 Mixed Tyranitar with s.rocks/icebeam/EQ/Filler changing weather and forcing out gliscor/tentacruel/Ninetales getting up rocks and making weather sandstorm.
#2 Blissey/chansey either just spreading status and walling all my special attackers when dragonite is dead, or heal bell'ing all the pokes i paralyzed/poisoned.
#3 Burungeru stopping my dragonite and volcarona sweeps, and giving out status.
#3 Opposing Volcaronas, when tentacruel is dead.
#4 Hippodon with rocks / Ice fang, phasing my stealth rock weak team and killing my spinner, as well as setting up weather
#5 Banded scizor with aerial ace, after tentacruel dies
#6 Rotom – w with HP.ICE / voltswitch
#7 Life orb infernape with fire/fighting stab moves.
#8 Chesto-Rest Conkulderp with a fighting move/stone edge. I have nothing to hit it with supereffectively, and it will rest off status induced by tentacruel.
