June in England

Intro.

I think you've probably grasped the general idea of this team.

Well, my Clan over at Serebii is preparing for war and, once again, I need to make a decent team. In my deep thought I looked out of the window and, for some reason, my inspiration hit me!

So, as you may know, I'm a very offensive player, so no JelliThorn for me. Certainly not. However, I have some walls to fall back on, in the event of an imminent Draco Meteor or whatever. And, this team has actually turned out unusually defensive for my type of team. So, with this team needing to be rated asap (hint, hint). I'll resist the urge to blab on, and get on with the
important stuff.

Team in Detail

Quaxo_Politoed_Artwork_by_DarkEmu.png

June (Politoed) (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Drizzle
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Scald
- Protect
- Toxic
- Perish Song

Politoed, the RainMeister does, of course, make an appearance on this team. I've gone with a Specially Defensive Variant because, as I said, I like walls you can fall back on and also it allows me to make effective use of Perish Song in many cases, which can get me out of sticky situations. Scald is of course, a staple move on any defensive Water Type and its handy burn chance is useful for, at times, allowing Politoed to tank Physical (don't you just hate that word?) hits as well. Protect allows me to scout (trying to Volt-Switch, are we?) and restore health. Toxic is great for wearing down and crippling Pokes, and is great catching a switch-in too.

Scizor (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Technician
EVs: 212 HP / 252 Atk / 44 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Quick Attack
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Superpower

So, I always include Scizor in my teams nd this one is no exception. Scizor's constant appearance is justified with its Massive Attack and brilliant movepool and ability. This is a pretty Standard setup, although the 44 Spd EVs, which may be unusual, are there to ensure I outspeed 0 Spd Breloom and Toxicroak. At least, that's what I think I tailored it too when I made the team. The moves are pretty standard and I shouldn't need to tell you why they're there. Quick Attack, however, is there because I found I never used Bug Bite and Quick Attack is useful priority against Electic or Water types. Yes, Rotom-W, i'm looking at you.

latios_pixel_over_by_fade_away_requiem-d2ye20s.png

Latios (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Thunder
- Surf

Latios is the Special Attacker of the Team, and my defense against Physical Walls. His high speed and Sp Attack are a great addition to the team. This Set, in my opinion, is great. Expert Belt, although it's now quite common, is still a great method of getting an easy KO, especially if you play it clever and hold back on revealing the set. With suggestions from Raters I added in LO to deal extra damage and help me with Stall. Draco Meteor is standard STAB, Psyshock is secondary STAB and is great against CM Virizion and the like and Thunder and Surf are Rain-Abusing moves.

Forretress (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
- Volt Switch
- Rapid Spin

Forretress, as Team Spinner and Hazard Layer, does bear a bit of a Burden, however, he bears it well. His high Defence allows him to lay down or spin hazards easily against many Phsyical attackers and Volt Switch allows me to gain momentum or escape, if I anticpate a Magnezone swtch-in.

Gliscor_en_Pok%C3%A9mon_Ranger_2.png

Gliscor (M) @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 HP / 184 Def / 72 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Substitute
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang

Gliscor, I think, was included on the team originally as an Electric Resist and although this role isn't as important in the team, its Subbing and Swords Dancing antics often make it MVP. It's a great physical wall to fall back on and it can set up on many, many things. After a Swords Dance, Earthquake becomes very deadly indeed for anyone who doesn't resist and Ice Fang often dents anything that does! The EVs are standard for this set.

479Rotom-Wash.png

Rotom-W @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Volt Switch
- Thunder
- Hydro Pump
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Thanks to suggestions from the lovely raters of Smogon Community, Rotom-W has found its way onto this team. Its primary function is to act as a counter to Gyarados, zapping it with its x4 Effective Electric Moves. Peowm, Peowm! Speaking of Electric Moves, Rotom-W has two of them! Volt Switch is for the ever annoying Volt-Turning and provides great synergy with Scizor and Thunder is Rotom-W's main STAB which is very powerful and, thanks to the Rain, accurate! Hydro Pump is another STAB which goes crazy-powerful in the Rain and is always useful. HP Ice is for coverage against the likes of Dragonite.

Conclusion

So, in conclusion, this has been a moderately successful team. Certainly not bad, but nothing great either. So, I really need the help of Smogon's lovely community to help improve it, so get rating!

Thanks for all feedback :)

i would personally replace latios with spec tornadus as you can abuse rain with it and u can help your metagross by taking out ferrothorn with fail blast but u can keep latios

This team looks extremely weak to Gyarados, as it can set up on most pokemon in your team and easily destroy you (you don't have ANYTHING to take his attacks). A way to fix this could be using Scarf Rotom-W over Metagross. Metagross isn't doing much for your team and it won't find many opportunities to set up.

Rotom-W@Choice Scarf | Levitate
Timid Nature | 4 Hp / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Hydro Pump / Volt Switch / Hidden Power Ice / Trick

Another thing you should consider is using Life Orb or Choice Specs on Latios, as being able to 2HKO Scizor and beating Blissey (something you can't do with Expert Belt) would be really great for you, as your team has some problems with stall teams.

I LOL'd at the title

Pretty good team here, but a big Gyarados weakness has been mentioned. I second Scarf Rotom-W-he pairs really well with Choice Band Scizor and suits your offensive playstyle well. He handles Gliscor and Landorus, and in the rain you get the added benefit of using Thunder, and a very powerful Hydro Pump.
The set that Destiny Unknown provided works well. However, you need Thunder on there to make him a reliable check to Gyarados. I'd use this over Trick. Rotom-W is pretty useless without his Scarf and loves the extra speed. Volt Switch just won't cut it against SubDD Gyarados, since you then have to switch out. Thunderbolt you can just keep spamming to kill off Gyara as well as against opposing rain teams. LO on Latios is in my opinion more worth it than Expert Belt. Although you feign a choice set, if they know you have a LO then they still really can't do anything about it can they apart from set up.
