Background Information:

This team was built over about 1 1/2 weeks, I would post a Team Building Process Here, except that it would be very time consuming due to the time spent and the amount of changes put into it. This team was actually originally built as a Latias Calm Mind sweeping team with a core of Ferrothorn, Chandelure, and Latias. As you can see it underwent many changes and I ended up with this.

Team Overview:

This team is a bulky offensive team, note there are no entry hazards, weather, rapid spinners, or even phazers on this team. This has on many occasions made playing with this team to be very difficult. However, without the assistance of these, there is no reliance upon them to win me games and often times, allows me to focus on my own team and make more intuitive moves than my opponent. When I don’t have to worry about my opponents moves, I can more easily focus on the needs of my team at that point in time without having to worry about spinning or switching in my weather inducer.

Changes:
This team is now in its final stages going from a peak of #8 to #2, although not the greatest change possible it is working quite well.

In Depth Analysis:

472.png

Gliscor
@Toxic Orb
Nature: Impish
Ability: Poison Heal
Evs: 252 HP, 232 Defense, 24 Speed

Moveset:
-Swords Dance
-Facade
-Earthquake
-Taunt

Overview:

Credit to Iconic for both the Gliscor and Scizor on this team if you want to see where I got them from please go here. This Gliscor was actually the last member added to this version of the team. The team was in need of a more reliable means of taking on Skarmory and Excadrill and this pokemon fit the bill. Taunt is here to almost entirely brutalize stall teams as well as cause havoc for many offensive threats. This is actually a little contradictory to my earlier statements of not worrying about other teams, but taunt was not put here to stop spikers but more to set up a sweep. Gliscor is not truly a lead but is put in this slot as it the best bluff on the team for a lead Stealth Rocker.

134.png

Vaporeon
@Leftovers
Nature: Bold
Ability: Water Absorb
Evs: 252 HP, 236 Defense, 12 Special Defense, 8 Speed

Moveset:
-Surf
-Toxic
-Wish
-Protect

Overview:

Vaporeon is probably the most important member of this team, now without any one member the team would fall apart, however on this team without Vaporeon there would be no purpose. Vaporeon deals with many bulky waters through Toxic Stall and Water Absorb. With its High Hp, it heals much of team with Wish. This set has saved the team more than once, without Super Effective moves Vaporeon is a real pain to take down. With the rest of the teams great resistances surround Vaporeon, it is pretty tough to ever get a clear shot at her.

609.png

Chandelure
@Choice Scarf
Nature: Timid
Ability: Shadow Tag
Evs: 4 Defense, 252 Special Attack, 252 Speed

Moveset:
-Flamethrower
-Hidden Power [Ice]
-Shadow Ball
-Energy Ball

Overview:

Chandelure… Shadow Tag… Nuff Said… However this set is another Pokemon this team couldn’t play without it is my secondary switch in to Psychics and really is more than just used to clear paths. After my Play on Pokemon Online, this team needs to useChandelure more Aggressively than other teams, by using him as a switch when when theres no clear Idea what my opponent will do next opening doors from one of my other pokes to come in. Flamethrower for security, overheat has missed so many times in key moments. Hidden Power Ice to help with some issues this team can have with Dragons. The rest of the team can effectively take on Tyranitar and Heatran so both seemed to be a perfect fit.

479W.png

Rotom-W
@Leftovers
Nature: Modest
Ability: Levitate
Evs: 164 HP, 252 Special Attack, 92 Speed

Moveset:
-Hydro Pump
-Volt Switch
-Hidden Power [Fire]
-Toxic

Overview:

Rotom-W, it has replaced Keldeo who replaced Serperior, it has great typing and is one of the most reliable pokemon on this team, it adds to the bulk and the offense swimmingly. It works extremely well with Scizor as theyre typing match is excellent. Although I miss out on setting up with Calm Mind or the Trump Carding Ability of my ShedShell Glare Serperior, Rotom-W does far more than either of those could. Toxic is here for Lati's who other wise destroy this set as Toxic would cripple them. Volt Switch is a good way to ease prediction.

212.png

Scizor
@Lum Berry
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Technician
Evs: 240 HP, 40 Attack, 220 Special Defense, 8 Speed

Moveset:
-Swords Dance
-Bug Bite
-Bullet Punch
-Roost

Overview:

Ahh Scizor back from 4th gen. This set is crucial, the only Dragon Resist makes me have to predict a lot. Vaporeon and Scizor usually team up for this job, finding if the Pokemon is Life Orbed, Scarfed, Specs, or even bulky. But before we continue this set was derived from one already used by other players, for the original thread please go here. Scizor can set up along side many pokemon, Psychics, Ferrothorn, Forretress, even Thundurus at times. This Scizor is really here for checking and resisting but out of all my pokes has had the most sweeps by far.

445.png

Garchomp
@Choice Scarf
Nature: Jolly
Ability: Sand Veil
Evs: 4 HP, 252 Attack , 252 Speed

Moveset:

-Outrage
-Earthquake
-Dragon Claw
-Rock Slide

Overview:

Garchomp is really a last resort on this team, Rarely used unless im in Dire Straits. It is the Revenge Killer and Keeps things in tact, when in need of a powerful hit he is here in case Chandelure is down or doesn’t have the ability to take on the opponent. The first three moves are fairly straightforward. Outrage if Steels are gone, Earthquake for my main move, and Dragon Claw to revenge Lati's and Salamence without getting locked. Rock Slide for Volcarona, I used Stone Edge but switched for its reliability.

Final Review:

This team is by far the best ive built, I enjoy how it does its own thing and allows for so many possibilities to win. Please Rate, I will take any suggestions, there is no perfect team and im striving to get as close as possible. Thank you all so much for reading!

serperior is the thing that is preventing this team from getting higher in the ladder IMO..

He has to many weaknesses that are already pretty deadly to thi team (fire, ice) and even with Vappy, Vappy won't last forever.

i would change serperior to kerudio
and garchomp to latios

GL

Thank you for the rate, So Cm Kerudio, and what set for Latios? Im slightly concerned about volcarona once it sets up, how do you think I should handle it.

Well, you beat me to it... ya your team is (was once you implement the suggestions, and still is) weak to a Life Orb Starmie. Scizor can't do much because it will likely:

A. Get SR/Spike Damage
B. Get a decent chunk of HP removed by switch-in move
C. Get KO'ed or burned by Scald

Not much can be done however as it will mess with synergy, however it is a major threat and must be handled carefully if seen. Any residual damage your pokemon take will likely send them to their deathbed.

@ Michurro: I do see your point and late in games LO Starmie is very difficult, No team is perfect but the weakness is pretty glaring. Usually ill use something as fodder and if possible switch in Chandelure for a Shadow Ball.

@Dezza Laa: I really enjoy using Keldeo as it can get off Sweeps and Latios can be a great Trump Card. But for Latios the rest of my team is able of taking on pokemon i would generally use Latios for. But I really enjoy Keldeo and looking at type Charts I cant use one really without the other, do you have any other suggestions.

Hi,,

Glad you like Keldeo. I reckon you ought to keep Latios, becuase him and Scizor have close to flawless coverage, and you can abuse that for switches. BTW he should have Choice Specs. if not you could try CM Latias, which I don't reccomend, or Rotom-w of some sort, which I don't see why not.

GL

Really solid team you have here. Here's some moveset changes I recommend:

Gliscor ~ Very nice gliscor. Almost the same set I run. I would change facade for ice fang because you have a lack of ice type moves on your team.

Vaporeon ~ You sir, are a douche (pardon the language) for running this set. That thing is nearly impossible to kill without a SE move. Honestly, this looks perfect.

Chandelure ~ Why are you running two fire attacks? You have to remember Chandelure is a revenge killer, and you are going to be locked into one move. After you kill a pokemon they are just going to switch in a fire resist and you are going to have to switch out. You are just forcing yourself to lose coverage. Run HP ice because you have ZERO ice type attacks.

Rotom-W ~ I run a similar set so I have some experience with Rotom. Pain split isn't that useful so I'd replace it with HP ice or fire OR you can replace it with twave so you have a duel status. Other than that, this looks great.

Scizor ~ Idk what to say. I'm one of the few that has never run a scizor. Set looks fine to me...

Garchomp ~ I feel as if this could be more helpful with the scarf. Perhaps run a SubSwords set? If you are adamant about keeping the scarf you should throw fire fang over dragon claw.

Despite these minor nitpicks, this looks like a VERY solid team. Good job and good luck!

The only change I would make is to give garchomp sand veil as its ability. It allows him to evade what would be a KO at times and its ya know.. legal. lol

@zombid: sorry about garchomp, i switched it from latios back to it and forgot to change ability, i had sand veil anyway but thank you.

@Elite Trainer U: Haha im not sure what to do about Rotom-W but I was thinking maybe go Sub Toxic>WOW and Pain Split, so my status doesnt clash, I also thought maybe Toxic + HP Fire and ill test both. On Chandy I had both because sometimes Overheat would miss but Flamethrower didnt have enough power, i tried HP Ice and it was brilliant thank you so much im keeping Flamethrower>Overheat for reliability, I dont know why i didnt change before! Thanks :D

Thanks for the rates!

Just curious, is shadow tag in general banned? and what do you recommend changing in for Chandelure? I thought it just hadn't been released yet according to the online server. Where can I find the thread or notice it was banned?

I found it somewhere, can't remember when i was running chandalure myself. it's only banned on chandalure for now though. its a very hard one to replace, so I'm not sure...

@Temporal: thats what i thought, ill just keep it here for now, but ill also make a change anyway as i want to be able to use a different version on the wifi server. I actually dont find chandy to be too broken.

It seems to be that way at first, but it is hit by all entry hazards, the only weather that doesnt hurt it is sun which is by far the worst and isnt terribly bulky so after just a few switches it isnt as broken as youd like to think unless your sac'ing pokes for it to come in to kill.

However can we please stop this as this is an rmt, and is supposed to be about the team and not a Chandelure analysis. Thank you though for informing me whether or not the notice is verifiable.

It isn't that broken. True it is an awesome revenge killer. It has potential to ruin synergy in stall, has potential to room trick room sweepers, has potential to stop a scarfed pokemon.however it usually only gets 1 free kill like wobuffet. not that broken just need to be careful.

I personally hate and love reuinclus. I don't play stall this gen because of reuinclus. I was running pokemon to counter it but players just avoid playing it until they can force or drag my counter in. Seems broken as it is known as a stallbreaker. Just because we don't like something means we call it broken.

anyways @Lamp, yeah flash fire chandlure would work fine as it can be a lure for fire type moves. Scizor would love that protect and also a shed shell might work for the rare magenzone and hp fire *but then again rare i've only seen 2 throughout wifi play.

Oh I forgot to mention what about a stallish lead gliscor?
Gliscor @ leftovers
Ability: sand veil
Stealth rock
Roost
Toxic/taunt
Earthquake

If I go to Flash Fire Chandy due to the Temporary ban on the smogon server, Ill probly run Sub, Cm, HP Fight, Shadow Ball, to abuse the Toxics from Rotom and Vaporeon and because the scarf isnt as important.

That seems fine. you should test it out after your temp ban. Oh gosh Calm mind will make it bulky... haha that'd be fun to see...
