Just Came Back With This Team

Hey I was gone for a few months after my game was stolen. This is the current team I have but its not doing so hot i could use some suggestions. Thanks for your time. Look, I realize half my team is weak to ground as well so i do need to fix the team just not sure on fixes right now.

Skarmory @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252hp/252def/6speed
Nature: Impish
~ Stealth Rock
~ Whirlwind
~ Drill Peck
~ Roost

Everyone saysy Skarmory is one of the best leads in the game, and I happen to agree with them. With his monsterous defnse and stealthrock/whirlwinding potential, he can be very deadly. I cant decide if I should go Brave Bird or if I should go Drill Peck. Someone help me decided on this one.

Zapdos @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252hp/220sp.def/36speed
Nature: Calm
~ HP Ice
~ Roar
~ Thunderbolt
~ Roost

I Love Zapdos. He is such a beast. Roost is an obvious recover move for when he gets low. Thunderbolt and HP Ice give type coverage. I replaced Light Screen with Roar so I could have something to stop them from setting up.

dpmba448.png

Lucario @ Life Orb
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 4hp/252atk/252speed
Nature: Adamant
~ Extremespeed
~ Swords Dance
~ Close Combat
~ Crunch

Typical Swords Dancing Luke. It is such a beast, after one swords dance this guy has a chance to sweep. And his moves give me coverage against many types. He has won me a few battles by himself. I is a great late game cleaner.

Gengar @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 6hp/252sp.atk/252speed
Nature: Timid
~ Thunderbolt
~ HP Ice
~ Shadow Ball
~ Focus Blast

Gengar has been recently added since I found out Deoxys-E was banned. He is obviously not as good and Speed but he is still very good. His move versatility has helped me a lot and he is staying unless I can be convinced to get rid of him.

dpmba068.png

Machamp @ Leftovers
Ability: No gaurd
EVs: 252hp/252atk/6speed
Nature: Adamant
~ Stone Edge
~ Sleep Talk
~ DynamicPunch
~ Rest

Of all the sleep talkers I have used I must say I like this one best. He is very stable, can take a hit, rest up and deliver a hit too. with his monsterous attack and high HP i figured he'd be a natural sleep talker for my team.

dpmba130.png

Gyarados @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 4hp/252atk/252speed
Nature: Adamant
~ Waterfall
~ Dragon Dance
~ Earthquake
~ Stone Edge

Gyrados is just such a beast there is no reason not to use him. After a dragon dance or two it is time to sweep the opposition.

You haven't really provided descriptions for your pokemon and that seems to indicate that you dont really know what they are doing for your team. you don't seem to have any central strategy other than get Gyarados out and then sweep with Electivire which isnt all that easy. None of your team really make sit easy for you to get past Swampert (Electivire's Main counter)

Now what I will suggest is read Great Sage's Team Building Guide, and possibly apply for the smogon Tutoring Programme next time round. This will help you gain a better Idea of what to have in your head when building a team, and how different pokemon in your team will help you to carry out a strategy. I understand, but I really think that these measures will help you in the long run to become a more succesful battler.

You really don't need two electric types. I would get rid of Electivire and replace it with something sturdy, like Bronzong. That would also make your ground weakness less.

Two fliers with your spinner as your lead is not a great idea. Leads tend to die, leaving you with no way to remove the rocks that hinder so much of your team (And by so much I mean two members, but one of them seems like one of your prime sweepers).

Both of your set-up sweepers are Physical sets. It seems like a good Physical wall will screw you up pretty bad in terms of sweeping effort. One of your special attackers is a Choiced pokemon, and the other is specifically not a sweeper. Consider adding some sort of Nasty Plot or Calm Mind pokemon, perhaps over Zapdos or one of the two Physical Sweepers here. NP Mixape could be a good Pokemon for this slot.

Scarf Heatran needs to be Timid and have more speed EVs in order to guarantee outspeeding Skymin. By my count, you need at least 184 speed EVs + Timid for that.

A couple of move choices seem iffy. Zapdos could really use Heat Wave over either the HP or the Screen. EVire might like Low Kick over cross chop, it hits a lot of things better than the chop does, and doesn't suffer from low PP or low accuracy, but in return it loses coverage on Blissey (additionally, Expert Belt gives you nearly the same boost as Life Orb against almost anything you'd hit, and doesn't cost life, letting him come in for Gyara more). Ice Punch is likely better than Crunch on Lucario. I'd also consider Taunt over Earthquake on Gyarados, as Taunt/DD Gyara is a vicious monster.

I would make some of these changes but i do not have platinum for the tutor. I think i want to drop donphan and gyarados maybe and heatran probably. If i dont drop heatran what item should I give him?

as said in the analysis, Scarfed Heatran needs HP Ice over Dragon Pulse so it has the power to KO those dragons.

HP Grass is another option, scoring 3HKO on most bulky water switch-ins.

Hi Conan, I thought you sold your game? Not that it was stolen?

Anyways, Electrivire in general is lack-luster because he is easily walled by todays best Steel walls (namly Skarmory and Bronzong)

To help cure this, a mixed-vire set would do better allowing you to deal with Skarmory who doesn't fear Gyarados and only fears Lucario when Stealth Rocks is up. Mixed-vire gives you a better way to take down Gyarados as well. With decent defenses, electrivire prefers Expert Belt as he can take a hit if necessairy.

Also, talking about getting rocks up, Donphan just doesn't cut it as a lead. I know this has been said before, but Donphan dies too easily to many leads. From here, two courses of action can be used: We can make Gyarados bulky and have him lead with Donphan in the back or we can drop Donphan in place of a faster suicide lead. One of my personal favorites is anti-lead Infernape, who can really help with many leading threats. Except Gyarados.

On Gyarados, if you don't want to lead with him, I think that giving him LO will aid his sweep especially sense you aren't using the bulky version.

Lucario also has the option of going dual-priority allowing you to score OHKO on Gengar with Bullet Punch and Stealth Rocks up. Although, now you could have a problem with Celebi if something should happen to Heatran.

No it was stolen, my brothers was sold, i think i got u mixed up. I dont have the right nature for a mixvire. i know donphans got to o as well. Whats better this modest zapdos or a calm sleeptalking one with hp ice? I dont know which one o use the things is i like roost more i think.

Donphan is not that great as everyone thinks, there are lots of better leads, like Bronzong (everyone has said that but, bleh). You can go with Aerodactyl @ Focus Sash
Jolly Nature ( +Spd, -Sp Atk)
- Taunt
- Stealth Rock
- Rock Slide
- Earthquake
Prevents other leads from setting up and sets stealth rock, it also has some sweeping possibilities, far better than donphan in my opinion.
I think you are using common movesets listed on the site, try to come with something from your own, a surprise or else you will be really predictable, like the Gyara and E-Vire combo, its too common that everyone has a combo for it.
For Zapdos maybe put toxic instead of Light Screen for some chances of stalling other pokes.

On Machamp, either switch Ice Punch to Stone Edge or switch Dynamic Punch to Cross Chop and No Guard to Guts.

I believe that Bronzong is a better lead, having better mixed defenses and only 2x Weakness to fire instead of a 4x Weakness, something that many lead Azelfs can take advantage of for an OHKO. Putting immediate pressure on you to switch which is never helpful for a lead. Bronzong can also utilize dual screens better than Forretress can.
