Just got back from IGN. Found out that EGM has stopped its publication

Yeah, I'm a month late, but I didn't find anything on the forum search about this.

I feel as if a part of my childhood died, like when Toonami ended. I loved reading EGM off the rack at the local bookstore every month when I was growing up, and I'm saddened to see it go.

EGM was the only game magazine whose reviewers acted like professionals and journalists, GI doesn't even come close.

Part of their practices included not sharing their score, not discussing the game until the scores are set in stone, not changing scores even with removal of advertising (this has happened to EGM before), and various other practices. I loved them for that.

I grew up with them too. They were a great magazine overall and they will be missed.

Fuck GameInformer, now I have to use the internet for my gaming news :(

yep, i bought every EGM from late 2002 through late 2004 off the shelf, just because i enjoyed the writing and material so much.

it's a shame.

And if you guys have a hankering for a good games magazine, check out Edge. The price is a little steep as it's a UK mag but it has been by far the best video game magazine on the planet for years now.
