Just got my first Pokemon Diamond, and DS lite!

Ahoy Gents (and possibly ladies),

I just got my Pokemon DS lite in the mail today. With this new piece of gadgetry I can now (finally) start playing Diamond.

I've played the entire pokemon series up to this point (I beat pearl a while ago, but beating the elite 4 doesn't really count for much, especially since it got stolen) and I'm looking forward to stepping up my game in the coming...well...however long it takes, really.

So if there be someone about that'd like to, show me the ropes, as it were, that would be most kind indeed.

You say you want to step up your game? Well you've come to the right place

Please read some of the many Pokemon analyses on this site, and look around the RMT forums for some great teams.

However, theorizing alone will not be enough to step up your game. Download ShoddyBattle, and mess around with team creation, and find which one works best. Should you fail to find weaknesses, we'll be here to help in the RMT forums. Be sure to thoroughly read the rules before posting, though.

Alternatively, you can try battling on WiFi, although your options to change team is as limited as the Pokemon you have in your game.

Read some of the warstories in the Warstory Archive. Some of these stories provide insight in battles, and should help you step up your game.

There is a tutoring program called Battling 101. There's a forum dedicated to it. The link is provided by Thorns.

I understand that being new can indeed be an intimidating experience, so avoid posting useless junk and lurk around. Doing so will help you avoid the wrath of other members and staff.
