This team goes against my general playing style of being conservative and playing with as little prediction as possible. Despite it taking me out of my comfort zone, I've enjoyed some success with it and now I'm turning it over for some fine tuning and such. All comments are welcomed and needed. =]
Deoxys-e @ Focus Sash
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk/252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
- Superpower
- Zen Headbutt (Taunt?)
While lead Deoxys-S is growing more common, mine is probably vastly different then most others that are seen nowadays. Adamant is probably a noticeable change over Naive, Timid, or whatever other Speed boosting nature you often see but I see no reason for that much speed and one reason for Adamant on Deoxys-S: Superpower will always ohko 252 HP Tyranitar, Jolly falls maddeningly short of the ohko. Zen Headbutt is so I can ohko Scarfgar, which is also the only true starter that will outspeed me. Focus Sash ensures that I at least get SR down and in most cases, one layer of Spikes. Stealth Rock and Spikes puts a lot of pressure on my opponent early and forces them to sometimes make irrational decisions early on, which is always a positive.
Gyarados (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 64 HP/252 Atk/192 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Ice Fang (Earthquake?)
- Stone Edge
- Waterfall
Ah, the mighty Life Orb Gyarados. There is not much that is needed to be said. 192 EVs reaches 246 Spe, enough to beat out all of those Pokemon that hover around 244, notably Zapdos and Celebi. Speaking of Celebi, I was considering going EQ > Ice Fang because with Stealth Rock and a layer of Spikes down, Celebi will be 2hkoed around 50% of the time not to mention the CH chance of Stone Edge. Just something I've been considering as Jirachi and opposing Metagross have been annoying as of late.
Dragonite (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 20 HP/252 Atk/236 Spd
Jolly (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
- Fire Punch
- Outrage
Dragonite and Gyarados work together to eliminate as much of my opponents team as possible. Life Orb gets the nod over Yache Berry because if I were to use Yache Berry I may as well use Garchomp since its SD Outrage is obviously more powerful then a DDed Outrage. The EVs allow Dragonite to outspeed Weavile after a DD, and almost all ScarfTrans as well (who runs Timid?), the rest of the EVs are placed in HP just cause.
Heatran (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Earth Power
- Dragon Pulse
- Fire Blast
- Hidden Power [Electric]
Heatran serves as my Revenge Killer for almost all of my threats, ranging from Gyarados to Azelf to Gengar to Garchomp and has been masterful on my team. With Blissey dying off, a well predicted Scarftran can actually run through most teams with ease. HP Electric takes the final spot over Explosion or HP Grass because Gyarados is that dangerous to my team. But I suppose if its a 256 Spe, EQ, Stone Edge Gyarados then I've probably lost unless I stall out its Life Orb; luckily thats rare enough where I will not worry about it.
Gengar (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Focus Blast
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Shadow Ball
- Thunderbolt
There is little to say about LO Gengar, other then amazing. Such wide range of attacks, great SpAtk, and good enough speed is so rare and with its Ghost typing it just cant be left off of most Offensive teams. I really wish I could find a way to get Hypnosis on its set but sadly everything appears to be needed. HP Ice is probably the most dispensable moves as I usually just Shadow Ball most Dragons in fear of Yache. =/
Metagross @ Leftovers
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 48 HP/252 Atk/208 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Meteor Mash
- Agility
- Earthquake
- Ice Punch
AgiliGross truly is a godly Pokemon. After a single Agility it outspeeds anything up to Ada Scarfchomp, so very little will be troublesome of Metagross. Metagross also stops Cressilia from walling a good portion of my team and like all my other members, it could careless about the majority of the walls in the game, Celebi, Gliscor, Zapdos, etc. Metagross also helps against Gengar who can do a number on my team with adquite prediction.
Well for the most part that is my team. Obviously I get SR up as soon as possible, and go for broke after that. Not too much to say about it but improve my team ^_^
