Jynx, You Owe Me A Soda!

"Fun" OU Team.. Jynx, You Owe Me A Soda!

Sure I could have come up with a less lame tittle, but then, who would click it. I wouldn't have.

Like I said, this team is full of some of the many things I'd like to try out.. Well, Jynx I've been using.. Cb infernape I've always wanted to try as it seems like it could be good in this game if played right. Snorlax has it a bit where it counts, with wide coverage. Eh. Registeel isn't far off, but I've never used it. This would give me another member to the defensive core, as well as Stealth rock. But specifically, it's to counter metagross and salamence. Both of my walls are weak to fighting and have no recovery!!! Ahhh.. Well, my favorite Latias set works perfect here to pass wishes, and the lowered attack from Charm not only protects her, but makes switcing around in general easier.

Now, everything is covered pretty well at this point. I'm not going all defense so I need something offensive.. I asked shoddy to tell me a last pokemon sweeper and the first reply I'd use. It's working out well actually.

Anyway, the team actually has pretty good synergy and wins often enough.

Team In Depth
dpffb124.png

Jynx (F) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Forewarn
EVs: 252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Trick
- Lovely Kiss
- Ice Beam
- Toxic
---
This jynx can be a VERY annoying lead. Trick off scarf. Worse case senario, I die to an attack. Best case, they set something up like a substitute, stealth rock, taunt me, whatever. So obviousely their going to switch, and now I have the freedom to switch moves. I use Lovely kiss next. Now that thats asleep I can Toxic predicting another switch. After it's done hopefully crippling 1/3-1/2 the team, it makes for a powerful ice beam later in the game, or a toxic on a wall. I'm overall satisfied with Jynx as a lead.

Infernape (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Close Combat
- Flare Blitz
- U-turn
- Mach Punch
---
Eh. So so. U-turn first turn to hurt Lati if she's there since she willl be coming in. Mach punch is very nice for Lucario. Can always come in an end a Scizor party.. But I don't know I'm starting to think it's just not strong enough :X. U-Turns damage on things like Cresselia always dissapoints me. And I just never find it hitting hard enough. I'm thinking of going with something else here, but I'd like it to be fast, and preferabley be able to take down Scizor or Lucario. Something useful other than just hitting hard in general.

Snorlax (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 HP/252 Atk/6 SAtk
Brave nature (+Atk, -Spd)
- Fire Blast
- Return
- Earthquake
- Crunch
---
This is an interesting Snorlax I threw together. Very wide coverage. I'm doubting the usefulness of Crunch, however as Gengar is scarcley seen. Snorlax makes a decent defensive core with fighting being resisted by Latias, and Snorlax is immune to ghost and takes little damage from ice. This makes passing Snorlax wishes pretty easy. Fire Blast is cool for Forretress and Skarmory, although both I've hardly seen. Thinking about putting Focus Punch over Crunch or EQ.. Hmmm...

Latias (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP/116 Def/28 Spd/112 SDef
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Charm
- Wish
- Protect
- Dragon Pulse
---
I've never cared for sweeper Lati.. And people are too prepared for it. She makes a far better tank/wall. Charm first turn... Scizors in there somewhere! Charm makes for good battles shooting down stat uppers. DDTar will try to DD, and Gyara will try to dd. A Lot of things can be charmed to where I can wish/protect myself up before dying such as Paybacks from Machamp, Scizors Pursuit, whatever. Wish is very useful for my team, specifically Snorlax and Registeel. Seriously my favorite set for Lati. I consider it standard.
dpmfb379.png

Registeel @ Expert Belt
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP/168 Atk/88 Def
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Ice Punch
- Explosion
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
---
I havn't got too much use of Registeel but I'm sure time will show he's useful on my team. Pretty standard.. Nothing special at least. Roar might go over earthquake.. Explosion doesn't do enough to things like CMCress and I just don't know what to do to the fucker.. And this seems like the only good place on my team for a phazer.
dpffb260.png

Swampert (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP/96 Atk/84 Def/78 SDef
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Curse
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Waterfall
---
After it all seems like I've lost.. Swampert comes in, sets up on something, and.. You guys know how Curspert works come on. Lol. Arbitrary ev's I made up.. Maxed hp, made attack into an even number, I think 280 so it turns into 420 after a curse. Defense is at 260 then.. Turning into 390. Then just dumbed the rest in spdef...... Yup.

My main core has most things covered pretty well. Things like Tyranitar can be complicated based on who's in at the time, but I've never been swept sooo... Yeah. I wish I had more strong special attacks on this team. Once JYnx is gone, something really physically bulky always gets annoying. Any questions on how I handle threat x, just ask.

Thanks for taking your time to rate my team!

Bump. It's been a while since I found an effective team I really like, and incorportated pokemon I like. I'd really like comments and rates please.

Arbitrary EVs have little point on Swampert. You would be better off maxing HP and Special Defense, since Curse does nothing to defend from the Special side, and most switch-ins will be using Special moves. Jynx is Bullet Punch fodder for the now-common Metagross, while also being even more vulnerable to Scarf Jiraachi's Iron Head. The imperfect accuracy of Lovely Kiss and Toxic will really be hurting you.

Unfortunately Registeel doesn't get roar or any sort of phazing move. The only other place you could consider putting a phazing move is on snorlax; whirlwind over crunch.

If you're not liking Infernape, consider Choice Band Arcanine. CB ExtremeSpeed checks a lot of fragile threats. Intimidate allows him to switch in to Scizor and Lucario fairly easily, and Flare Blitz can annihilate them or deal a huge amount to the switch-in (can even take down Skarmory, believe it or not). Iron Head provides coverage against Tyranitar and other Rocks, and for the last move, you can try out a number of things. Crunch allows a powerful hit on Ghost-Types without major recoil. Thunder Fang is your best bet against bulky waters not named Swampert. Toxic, Roar, or Will-o-Wisp can provide decent support, but you'll likely be forced out after using it, which isn't a great idea for a Pokemon weak to Rocks. A Hidden Power could also be used to provide better coverage against a specific threat (HP Ground against Heatran, HP Ice against Salamence, or HP Grass against Swampert) who his other moves would be fairly ineffective against.
