Hello everybody, I've been into pokemon since GSC but I am totally new to competitive(or even multiplayer) battling. So I decided to randomized a team and these are what I got. I had some matches, some losses and some wins (much more wins then I espected especially when lacking Talonflame on the other team), even if all mons of mine are UU tier or below. By the way, this is the team, any (useful) feedback is welcomed
[just, I know it's not the better team for competitive play, there is no need to remember it all the time]:
Miltank @ Focus sash
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 60 Atk / 64 Def / 132 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
-Milk Drink
-Ice Punch
-Return
-Thunder Wave
I usually use her as a lead, paralizing the opponent I can with Thunder Wave, and Focus Sash help with her survive an early encounter with Infernape or any other offensive lead, healing herself later with Milk Drink if possible. I also preferred Ice Punch over other more powerful moves so she can hit levitating ghosts, hitting them hard if they are too frail, plus it cover a large chunk of option. Still difficult to hurt any Steel type, but she is no real sweeper. Can hit pretty hard, though.
Golurk @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Fist
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
-Stealth Rocks
-Shadow Punch
-Fire Punch
-Earthquake
It can take a few hits and retaliate with good coverage attacks, plus it has Stealth Rocks. even if I don't use is as a lead (which maybe I should) it can get a few kills late game, hitting hard Steel types and other crippled and damaged opponents
Jynx @ Focus Sash
Ability: Dry Skin
Evs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 SpD
Timid Nature
-Lovely Kiss
-Nasty Plot
-Psyshock
-Ice Beam
She its my main sweeper and real core of my team. Lovely Kiss, with a respectable 95 speed and focus sash let her boost with Nasty Plot at least one or even two times, then she can start wrecking opponents with her attack. Focus Sash make for her weakness to priority moves or can enable her to boost with Nasty Plot two times (or even more with a certain luck).
Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 SpA / 184 SpD / 72 Spe
Modest Nature
-Flamethrower
-Wish
-Healing Bell
-Moonblast
This is the only mon I changed (the original one was Leavanny, who also was a cleric). I honestly didn't credit her much, but I have reconsidered this. she has a good special bulk and enough SpA to hit hard with Moonblast. I have took Flamethrower only recently (changing Moonlight, cause it was stupid to have both Wish and Moonlight) so she can hurt Steel types that resist her Fairy STAB. Magic Guard also give her an occasion to enter on Will-o-wisp or toxic azards and then Heal Bell away any status condition. I should also counter any wall who use Toxis, Will-o-wisp or Seismic Toss as their only offensive threat.
Kingdra @ Leftovers
Ability: Sniper
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 HP
Adamant Nature
-Substitute
-Waterfall
-Outrage
-Dragon Dance
A Dragon Dance setter, basically. He has small fear of Ice attacks, he's bulky enough to take few hits and substitute can save him from Will-o-wisp and boost with Dragon Dance. Once he's adeguately set, it can sweep almost everything, without much concern for priority moves (which kills Jynx in few shots)
Azelf @ Focus Sash
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 HP
Timid Nature
-Taunt
-Flamethrower
-Psychic
-Thunderbolt
I sometimes led with it, Taunting some of the most obvious hazard setters. Focus Sash is for its frailty, I tried a set with Nasty Plot and Life Orb but most of the time its too difficult for me to settle or just stay alive for much to be really effective (thanks to things like Bullet Punch Scizor).
I looked at the smogon Pokedex for most of the sets but I modified them most of the time (maybe not the right way though), so any consideration is good. I don't mind changing mons, just not too much of them and only if it's necessary (Kingdra may be a weaker Dragonite but it's my weaker Dragonite)
