Kabutops is a niche but potent rain attacker with rare access to Swords Dance that can either pivot with powerful Flip Turns or clean when rain runs out with Aqua Jet. Liquidation is stronger than Waterfall, but Waterfall can give unexpected openings through flinches. Superpower is an option to hit Zarude hard without having to set up. Kabutops should always be run with Politoed on dedicated rain teams. Other rain sweepers such as Kingdra, Nasty Plot Tornadus or Thundurus, and Seismitoad can work in tandem with Kabutops to wear down the opposing team's defensive structure. Checks to opposing Gastrodon and defensive variants of Seismitoad, such as Tornadus and Ludicolo, are necessary, as Kabutops is completely walled by them. Other Pokemon that fit on rain teams like Klefki, Toxicroak, and Heliolisk also pair well with Kabutops.

Kabutops is a potent rain abuser that differentiates itself from other rain sweepers through the combination of Flip Turn and Swift Swim, allowing it to act as a fast and powerful offensive pivot. (perhaps re-write it a bit, since flip turn is not a given on the set now. also, mention how it can be hard to set up because generally ppl wld expect sd on full rain). Liquidation makes Kabutops a better breaker due to its chance to lower defense, but Waterfall's flinch chance is more useful when cleaning. (no need to make the distinction between breaker and sweeper since u can kinda argue both ways, i.e. flinches allowing u to break more or higher bp allowing u to clean better, instead just say liquidation has higher bp and def drops and waterfall can give u openings due to the flinch chance, smth along these lines). Kabutops can set up Swords Dance on forced switches to sweep the opposing team. (move sentence about sd up according to move order, and add in a distinction between flip turn and ajet, as discussed on discord). Superpower is an option to hit Zarude hard without having to set up. Kabutops should always be ran with Politoed on dedicated rain teams. Other rain sweepers such as Kingdra, Nasty Plot Tornadus, and Nasty Plot Thundurus can work in tandem with Kabutops to wear down the opposing team's defensive structure. (np torn w accurate hurricanes in rain slaps, just gotta hit focus v steels :joy:). Checks to opposing Seismitoad and Gastrodon and defensive variants of Seismitoad, such as Tornadus, Seismitoad, or Ludicolo are necessary as Kabutops is completely walled by it. (more offensive variants of seis take upwards of 55, or even more depending on spread, from +2 edge, so it wldnt rly be completely walled in that sense. gotta make the distinction of defensive variants). Other Pokemon that fit on rain teams like Klefki, Toxicroak, and Heliolisk also pair well with Kabutops.
