Kangas-fun (farewell to kangaskhanite RMT)

It was fun while it lasted, have fun in ubers!

Introduction:

Ever since the ban hammer went down on Mega Gengar and what was to me the most fun/evil set ever witnessed, perish-stalling, I kind of set my eyes on my next Mega experience. There was Kangaskahn, having the unique ability of huge raw power, effective movepool, amazing bulk and speed considering the alternatives and most importantly, his double hitting effect. Power Punch, Return, breaking sturdy and sashes and even the more ridiculous option of Seismic toss, he was the much appealing...or is it a her? I should have posted this before the decision was made but I hope the mods will allow this farewell RMT, both because it been only a few days, good discussion as this has been my main team in Pokebank OU and what might replace the main feature of it. So let's get on with it:

Team Building Process:

To facilitate as many Kangasweeps as possible. To start I enlisted the help of Deoxys both prevent other hazard layers from ruining my day at the very beginning, and to lay down SR and cause some damage before going down. When that was decided I decided to go full HO, bringing on LO Greninja to hit hard on the special side and Talonflame to do the same on the physical side. Both their speed and attractive abilities helped alot in wearing down the opposing team and taking advantage from the fall of their alien comrade. In the last two slots I decided to go with Ghosts...yes two ghosts. One is a scarfer (I think you guessed who) and the other is an Aegishield with a unique twist, call him a trap if you may. Not only that but he goes along with our main batter, who after all of the above can come in and sweep as she pleases.

Kangaskahn @Kangaskhanite
Ability: Scrappy -> Parental Bond
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 HP / 252 Speed
Adamant Nature

- Power Punch
- Earth Quake
- Sucker Punch
- Return

No srsly, frak those rocky helmet users. But then again looking at the picture it was no wonder Smogon Social Workers took the baby away :/

Anyway the set should be familiar to most of you and how it works if fairly straight forward. You come in and use Power Punch, guaranteeing at least 1+ to your Atk through the choice of Scrappy, and then proceed to tear down the opposing team. Earthquake is to get around opposing Aegislash and is generally an awesome, accurate move by itself and providing a near unresisted Normal/Ground two type combo. Sucker Punch is pretty much a given as a priority and one of the many reasons this mother shall not be revenged. Return is where most of the hurt comes, this thing is so brutal factoring in the boosts, stats and parental bond that not even Skarmory wants to stay in anymore.

Aegishield WeaKness Policy
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk/ 4 SpD
Adamant Nature

- King Shield
- Shadow Claw
- Shadow Sneak
- Sacred Sword

This thing is awesome. The opponent doesn't know it, but it is really a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation to the opponent. The sheer bulk of this thing (and it's speed stat) makes Weakness Policy the perfect item for it. For example, Dragonite with +1? No problem, eat the Fire Punch at 60% and demolish him with Shadow Claw and the next thing that comes in. Of course that was just an example. The attacking moves are Priority + Perfect coverage, and King Shield is to return to defensive stance and hurt physical attackers if necessary.

Greninja Life Orb
Ability: Protean
EVs: 252 Speed / 252 SpA/ 4 HP
Timid/Hasty Nature

- Surf
- Dark Pulse
- Hidden Power Fire
- Ice Beam/Water Shuriken

A hole puncher and damage spreader really. The ability, decent SpA and fantastic speed make it a great LO attacker. Water + Dark has near perfect neutral coverage on it's own, the last two slots really depend on my needs. I favor HP fire in the third slot for the steels out there, and Water Shuriken is an interesting option as goodbye kiss to opponents such as Talonflame or when you strike an opponent and then get paralyzed. In any case, Ice beam is reliable as ever to hit those flying types and darn Dragons, LO + STAB nevertheless.

Talonflame sky Plate
Ability: Gale Wing
EVs: 252 Atk / 192 HP/ 60 Speed
Adamant Nature

- Sword Dance
- Flare Blitz
- Brave Bird
- Roost/U-Turn

Kackaw! You didn't really expect an RMT without the smogon bird, did you? Jokes aside this thing is great, and it has enough speed that you need a measly 60 EVs with Adamant nature to make sure that Mole stays underground...what else, we get the SD, we got Sky Plate, and Roost is there if the offensive pressure and Deo-S some how terribly fail to keep SR out. U-Turn is also a good switching option and at +2 a mildly damaged TTar can be OHKO'd as well.

Deoxys-Speed Focus sash
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Speed/ 4 SpA
Timid Nature

- Stealth Rock
- Taunt
- Thunder Wave/Fire Pwnch
- Psycho Boost

Best support ever. Seriously, not only does thing nearly guarantee rocks, it also prevents others from setting up their stuff and if you opt, mess up their switch ins or do a nasty number with Psycho Boost even when uninvested (should prolly look into that EV spread later). If you like you can also choose Fire pwnch which ruins a lot of pokemon that Deo-S typically deals with. I would like to try on Ice Beam for the sole purpose of Thundrus-T, but that's something for another time...err, RMT.

Gengar @Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Speed/ 4 HP
Modest Nature

- Shadow Ball
- Focus Miss
- Thunderbolt/Icy Wind
- Trick/Sludge Bomb

I need to confess, I need some black sludge, I'm addicted to shadows. This meta is awesome and not so awesome when it comes to choice items, but when you do choose them you can now opt for natures once deemed imposiribu, such as Modest. That let's the inner power of Gengar truly shine and as a speedster make sure he can revenge kill and surprise kill many things. As often is the case with pokemon with wide movepools, you seem to be at loss for choices when it comes to the last slots. Trick does a great job of messing walls up or set up users, Icy Wind helps slow opponents down for your other teammates, Thunderbolt hits important and very wide spread types in the meta, and Sludge Bomb is a fantastic STAB pair and Fairy terror.

I hope you enjoyed my team, please post any improvements and suggestions on how to use this team to build around another pokemon (new mega project) and let me know what you think.
