Katara's Rain team

Politoed @ Choice Specs
Ability: Drizzle
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SAtk
Modest Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Focus Blast
- Surf

Obviously this is the opener. To be honest I have been surprised at the bulk i have seen taking a full thunderbolt from zapdos, surviving and then taking him out with a ice beam and things along those lines. I almost always get at least one K.O. from Politoad.

Dragonite @ Life Orb
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 76 Atk / 252 SAtk / 180 Spd
Mild Nature
- Hurricane
- Thunder
- Aqua Tail
- Extreme Speed

Dragonite has served well being able to kill low Hp enemies when switching in with extreme speed, or take advantage of hi accuracy thunder and hurricane, and high power aqua tail have served him well.

Scizor-Mega @ Scizorite
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 HP / 40 Atk / 216 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Roost
- Swords Dance
- Bug Bite

Mega scizor has new stats thank I find make it feasible to roost back health and fight forward and still abuse technician. I have revenged killed many with bullet punch and can switch in on pesky electric type and grass type moves that plague alot of my team.

Toxicroak @
Ability: Dry Skin
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 28 HP / 252 Atk / 228 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Drain Punch
- Sucker Punch
- Ice Punch

I almost started considering dropping toxicroak at one point, but as I improved reading i saw the value he had by switching into water type moves and sucker punching pyshics he has not let me down on surprising KO's even though some are against him

Tentacruel @ Black Sludge
Ability: Rain Dish
- Rain Dance
- Scald
- Protect
- Surf

This pokemon has stalled out pokemon in giving them burns i never would have guessed it could have, that being said it needs more versatility, it can be one hit K.O.'d by a few pokemon i wish were less common than they are.

Tornadus @ Choice Specs
Ability: Defiant
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- U-turn
- Focus Blast
- Hurricane
- Air Slash

Tornadus is kind of a slot filler for me. taking advantage of the rain in purely through hurricane, unfortunately though it generally doesn't pack as much as a punch as id hope for, and can be taken out pretty quickly by most electric type moves from what I have seen.

So, any help is great. I'm willing to try pokemon switching, held items, order just about any advice. I know i also just need practice reading my opponents move set. Thanks!

You know I myself like to use sandstorm teams but I will give this my best shot...so an easy pokemon to replace tentacruel is jellicent if you want a water type and if you want one that can burn and stall and also get you wins...what it should run
Jellicent bold nature
252 Evs in hp
252 Evs in defense
6 Evs in special defense
Taunt to shut down pokemon that try to set up
Will o wisp to burn pokemon and wreak havoc
Scald yes I know that will o wisp is on this moveset but trust me you need an attack that can speed up the process of killing a pokemon and you also need a water move so that you can use the rain effectively...
Recover to gain back health
The item should be a leftovers
Another pokemon you should consider using is magnezone considering the fact that thunder never misses in the rain and that magnezone has great typing and can smash things really hard..it
should be modest natured and it should have sturdy..
Moveset
Thunder wave to annoy other pokemon
Flash cannon kills ground which scares magnezone
Thunder does huge damage never misses in rain
Volt switch to switch and go
The item should be an air ballon so that way you dot get killed right away by a ground move...
Other recommendations if you want you can swap your mega scizor or dragonite for mega ampharos however you'll have more problems with ground type but mega ampharos has dragon moves and thunder you can also swap tornadus for thundurus if you want...and I know some people might disagree but volcarona can be actually good in rain I know it's fire but hurricane never misses in the rain and if you set up one quiver dance you can sweep teams...also you can run rotom wash with a never missing thunder a boost in hydro pump and it also has volt switch so it can scout...if you want movesets for any of these pokemon feel free to ask..and you don't have to take my advice...thanks if you do though

Great, thanks for the help. Hadn't realized another pokemon could replace tentacruel with even more bulk and a recovery move like that. Also, i think I will give the magnezone a chance by replacing my tornadus with it. Ill definitely give this a shot. Then reply again. the only issue I can see would be losing another rain starter, will definitely make me more cautious with the politoad. Ill give this a shot though!

Politoed shouldn't be used as a special attacker because you generally want him to be able to set up rain more than once or twice.
Consider switching out aqua tail for roost on dragonite but if it works for you then keep aqua tail. Actually Waterfall is better because 100% accuracy, don't use aqua tail.
Maybe switch out Toxicroak and Tornadus for Helioptile and Kingdra, with kingdra being a physical attacker.
