Hi everybody. I've been playing on Showdown for a while now with this team I created. All mon work together pretty well so I guess there is good synergy. However, there are certain threats I usually need to sacrifice 2 mons to defeat. Most my losses are because of them so I hope you guys can help me improve the team. Let's get into it.
_______________________________________________________________________________
Garchomp (F) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Spd / 252 Atk
Naive Nature
- Dual Chop
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
This is my favourite Pokemon. Hence, this team focuses on helping Garchomp sweep. I tried a few different sets and found the Scarf set to be most effective and also easiest to use. I usually bring Garchomp out mid to late game and with the Scarf, it cleans up the weakened opponent's team real nice. STAB Dragon is Dual Chop because 1) Same base power as Dragon Claw but can break Sub and 2) It's never good to be locked into Outrage with all those Fairy-type running around. Iron Head is there specifically for them.
Heatran (F) @ Air Balloon
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SDef / 8 Def
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Lava Plume
- Ancient Power
- Stealth Rock
- Taunt
Steel types generally put a hold to Garchomp so I picked Heatran to take care of them. I tried Fire Blast as my STAB Fire for a while but that 85% accuracy costs me the game some times. I then switched to Lava Plume which is more accurate and has a nice chance to burn. Heatran is not on this team to sweep so the power drop does not concern me too much. Ancient Power is specifically for Talonflame, Mega Pinsir, Mega Charizard Y and other Flying-type like Zapdos, Tornadus. Taunt stops Skarmory and Forretress from setting hazards and Roost before I incinerate them.
Celebi @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 236 SDef / 20 Spd
Calm Nature
- Giga Drain
- Recover
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Thunder Wave
Heatran usually is a Fighting type bait and Celebi handles them nicely. Thunder Wave slows down the opposing team for Garchomp and Mega Lucario to sweep later. Hidden Power [Ice] is there for Thundurus and opposing Grass types who otherwise walls Celebi. In a pinch, Hidden Power [Ice] gives me a chance to deal with opposing Dragon types.
Gengar (F) @ Black Sludge
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Spd / 252 SAtk
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Substitute
- Disable
- Shadow Ball
- Sludge Wave
My team so far struggles against Fairy types and Ghost types (specifically Aegislash). SubDisable Gengar just spells doom for them. Sludge Wave poisons all Fairy to dead. Shadow Ball + Sludge Wave gives perfect neutral coverage AND STAB. If Heatran is down, Gengar can handle all Steel type cause Shadow Ball hits them for neutral damage now.
Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 232 HP / 56 SAtk / 220 Spd
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split
- Thunderbolt
- Hydro Pump
Rotom-W is on the team to handle Defensive Ground type and spread Burn. My team is weak to physical threats generally so Burn is greatly appreciated. Pain Split gives me really reliable recovery cause Rotom-W forces a lot of switches. Thunderbolt is used instead of Volt Switch to kill Mega Pinsir if Heatran is down. Rotom also deals with weather starters pretty well: zapping Politoed,
drowning Ninetales and burning Tyranitar.
Lucario (F) @ Lucarionite
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 Def
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Close Combat
- Crunch
- Bullet Punch
Mega Lucario is my team's Megamon. So far my team struggles against special walls like Blissey and bulky Pokemon in general. Mega Lucario just decimate them. I don't run a boosting move because 1) Mega Lucario already hits so freaking hard, 2) Mega Lucario usually don't stay in for more than 2 turns so it's not exactly worth setting up and 3) Its frailty makes it prone to revenge killing. Why set up when you're OHKO so often? Crunch is for Slowbro, Reuniculus and Alakazam. Earthquake is for Aegislash.
Threats (not limited to these 3 but they are the most threatening)
1) Mega Medicham: this thing hits so freakingly hard and there is no safe switch in for it on this team. Rotom-W can usually handles it if WoW don't miss but that's about it.
2) Honchkrow: This bird is annoying as hell. I normally have to sacrifice one mon and then revenge kill with Garchomp but that fails if it has Roost.
3) Bisharp: Its Knock Off is way too strong. Sucker Punch + Knock Off guarantee to make my team suffer.
